Then they wanted more money after the fact to dump the greens though they already had a truck load of other customers' debris on the truck. The man was always grumpy. I can attest to some of negative reviews here. I have been using them for the past 3 years for the regular maintenance work. One day I get a message from the owner stating they will discontinue their service because my yard is too big and it's simply not worth doing. Negotiation did not work as they have denied to all of my alternative solutions which consisted of more money & compost bins to assist with compost dumping. They used to be great when they were relatively new in the area, but I think they are no longer interested in providing equal care. Perhaps there are more bigger jobs that yield more money, but I am truly disappointed that the owner just simply decided to discontinue with regulars and move on to a bigger project. read more

Our yard got to be a bit of a mess and we decided Wednesday we would look at getting a landscaper out to do a one-time cleanup. We have had some mediocre landscape companies in the past and were a bit nervous about wait times and having to 'start over' with our landscaper search. We were looking to do weeding (like...a LOOOOOT of weeding), a small amount of plant/tree/bush trimming, add a layer of topsoil in the back garden, and a layer of beauty bark in the front, side of house, and back yard gardens. I contacted O&E through Yelp Wednesday late, and Osmar wrote back by the next morning saying he was available to come look at the property. We arranged a time to meet, and he was on time, friendly, and had great ideas. He told me he'd follow up same-day with a quote. He came back with a quote that was more than reasonable AND told me he could do the work that Sunday! Not only that, but he offered to bring by a sample of the mulch/beauty bark we were talking about the next day before scheduling. He came by as discussed, showed us the sample, and covered off on the scope one more time. On Sunday, Osmar and a crew member came by promptly as they stated at 8:30AM. They were immediately to work at a pace I couldn't comprehend. Not only did they weed in 1 hour what would've easily taken me several weekends to do, they did much better than I would have with the proper tools. They finished the weeding, pulled some plants we asked them to pull, beautifully shaped our front garden plants and a few others they noticed needed some help with their shape, and then they started edging! We didn't even ask them to do this, but it looks so wonderful. They cleaned all of the debris up from weeding as they went along and used a blower between steps to keep things as clean as possible. After cleanup, they started adding topsoil. They went above and beyond and put soil on ALL of the beds, not just the back! They did a thick layer, too. After the soil, they leveled it well and began adding the beauty bark in a thick layer. They had such a great eye for detail - they carefully moved several of our garden sculptures and planters to get the soil and mulch in evenly and properly and put them back exactly as they were. Once completed, they MOWED OUR LAWN (which we also never asked them to do)! When they left, everything was tidy, and no debris was left behind, not even in the street as they packed their trucks and drove off. Throughout the initial communication to the very end of the project, O&E went above and beyond our expectations in service and work. I've never had an interaction with a landscaping company turn out this wonderful. Even though this was a one-time project, I'm now looking at working with them on a regular cadence for maintenance and helping keep things tidy. Give O&E a call, you won't be disappointed! I am surprised people believe they have good customer service. I had a similar experience as the other 1 star reviewers for this company. They drove by our house, looked, didn't stop, and never came to ask what the work we wanted done was. Then they messaged me to say they quoted us last year, which I didn't remember since we had many companies quote us during remodeling. Then they made an excuse saying they don't do weekly maintenance in Mukilteo because we live too far. Funny, if they quoted us last year, they were willing to do weekly service then? I then remembered, last year I recommended them to our in laws 10 minutes away from us due to their good pricing, and they have no problem going that distance. Wouldn't recommend them, and my in laws will also be canceling service with them. You get what you pay for! Update: After posting this review, the owners angrily contacted me accusing me of lying.. really disappointing and a little scary. All reviews I've given on Yelp have been 5 stars, check my account. Wow. I should've worked with this company years ago. Communication: excellent. Evelyn was very thorough and explains the job they'll be doing. She also makes sure that you're happy with the finished job before they leave. Work ethic: the entire team was very professional and friendly. The amount of detail they put in on each job is quite amazing. Pricing: fair. I used to have another company do mowing ONLY but they didn't do any other maintenance work. They came out the next day, quoted us to lay sod in our back yard, build a retainer wall as well as do yard maintenance. They did an incredible job on our back yard. Our lawn is plush and green. Looks amazing. They built 3 different retainer walls and did a beautiful job. Osmar is a very hard worker, even working in the cold and rain refusing to quit until the job was done. They did our initial yard clean up, laid mulch, pruned all of our trees and bushes and the clean up was impeccable. Our yard looks so good and we have gotten several compliments from our neighbors. They always remember to show up, which I know sounds like it should be an obvious thing but you'd be surprised at how often we had to call and ask other landscapers to see when they'd be showing up! I loved the quick response for an estimate and easy scheduling. They did a beautiful job in our yard. Removing old plants, trimming trees and hedges and doing some major clean up then planting some great ground cover and spreading mulch to help block weeds. 4/22/2021 update: I had scheduled an appointment for an estimate during the first week of April. No show. I called back a few days later and asked the owner why they had missed our appointment. She replied that "they lost my contact info". We rescheduled for a couple days later. No show. I called later that evening but their phone went straight to VM. I called the following day where they said they were swamped with a big project and that they promised they would arrive the following day. No show. This business has gone down hill and down hill fast. Word travel fast so I recommend to look elsewhere. I will not be using them again. read more
