Never tried cold noodle soup but that tricked my mind like crazy. The broth looked clear and flavorless but it was so delicious. I really enjoyed that with the chewy noodles. The La Kalbi made me see the birth of the universe. That thing was ridiculous. I'm still dreaming about it. I've never had Kalbi so soft and disintegrated before even chewing. We also tried the vegetable stir-fry with shrimp because my wife wanted to balance out all the meats but I'm not a vegetable guy. It was still tasty. The reason for coming was to try the tofu soup but we didn't even try that so we'll have to come back. I wanted to knock the rating down for pricing but I can choose whether I go here or not and I know the cost of doing business is crazy especially hawaii. overall, we had a great experience and the leftovers fed us for 2.5 days after our visit.

I went here right after getting off the airport to get some quick comfort food before checking in to my stay in Kīhei and Tagpuan happened to be on the way. I ordered the chicken Inasal and pork lumpia and from those two simple dishes I could tell that this place was legit. IMO that inasal's definitely better than Mang Inasal back in PI and much better than the Inasal I've had in the Bay Area so hopefully that hypes it up enough. Kept coming back almost every single day till I left to go back to the mainland. In that time I also had the grilled liempo (pork belly), crispy pork belly, and longanisa sliders - all excellent dishes. Really love the sauce selections they use for their dishes too - pretty good balance of acid to cut the fat making the dishes feel not too heavy. The food truck is currently nestled in what seems to be an auto shop lot. There's a nice clean bathroom access via the auto shop near the food truck itself. Lots of parking, a few benches to eat at, and of course, really good food. The couple that run Tagpuan are incredibly kind and hard working people. Would highly recommend - not only to support a local business owner (who's from Lāhainā) but because they serve genuinely good and authentic Filipino food.
