I meant to write this review when I first had the meal, but it was so damn good that I completely lost all train of thought . This spot is literally a hole in the wall -- technically a hole in the corner in Wailuku -- and easily one of the best soul, love-filled restaurants on Maui. Yes, it's a new location and fairly small, no fancy advertising, just humble beginnings -- but trust me, this restaurant knows what the fuck they're doing. My wife was absolutely blown away with every bite of the slow-cooked brisket and her favorite mac & cheese. I personally can't wait to try the peppered steak and dirty rice (my friends won't stop posting about it), but since I'm on a meal prep, that'll have to wait . For the first time, my wife had nothing but great things to say -- and as locals born and raised here, that says a lot. We don't always get satisfied, and that's okay, but this place... this is the pinnacle. One of the best ideas to ever venture out to Maui. To this husband-and-wife duo -- please keep doing your thing. Continue serving with love and filling the community with your incredible food. We'll definitely be back.

We have been on the hunt for great ribs and brisket. Mahalo The Pinnacle for serving up authentic, fall off the bone ribs and super tender brisket! Friendly, quick service and delicious food always makes for a great dinner. EVERYTHING and I mean everything on our plate was finger licking good and made with love. Inside was small but very clean.

Top corner is what my corn on the cob was sitting in.

So since the owner suggested for us to give them another try, we did. This time I took photos to show I did go to the right restaurant with a kiosk present. As we walked in the chef/owner was just finishing up with another customer so he was there for us to actually ask questions. We were told to order through the kiosk. It was easy to use, but after we put our order in, we were curious to how we would pay with cash. It took about a minute or two for the owner to come back out to check on us and we told him we placed our order in, but will pay with cash. He took our cash for payment. The kiosk system doesn't make sense to me since you still need a live person to pay cash with. It is not an efficient system. Food: We ordered 1 Double Rib Plate which came with corn on a cob and Jasmine rice (you could pay extra for "Dirty Rice"). Plate cost $13 as is. Double rib is literally 2 ribs. The meat fell off the bone, but it was bland compared to other bbq ribs I've had. Jasmine rice was dry and corn on a cob was nothing special. We ordered 1 Bordelaise Brisket Plate which came with corn on a cob and we substituted the Jasmine rice for garlic mash potatoes (additional $2). Plate cost $25 with the substitution. Brisket also lacked flavor even with the additional bordelaise sauce which seemed watered down. Garlic mash potatoes had no garlic flavor or any flavor at all. I wouldn't doubt they can make their own mash potato, but this just gave me the feeling of box mash potato. The mash potatoes wasn't fluffy or creamy, it had a more soupy texture. I really love a good mash potato and this left me very disappointed. The corn on the cob with this plate was sitting in water which was unappealing. The corn the cob had no butter or seasoning, just plain corn on a cob. Ambiance/ service: Small building with a few parking stalls (may be shared parking with the other business next door). Inside was warm even with the fan on, there is a AC unit but it wasn't on. The owner was going in and out of the kitchen to explain to us what he plans to do/ renovate. Him being the only cook and person there, I would think he'd be busy making our order first before chit chatting. Total time took 20 minutes, which could have been possibly faster if he wasn't going in and out to talk to us about his plans which we didn't ask about. I appreciate him trying to make an effort to talk, but it also shows no urgency to get my order out. Inside needs at least a bench to sit and wait on, or a few chairs. I can't really say much about the outdoor seating area since we didn't go there. Overall, the price for the portion and quality wasn't worth it. I am all for supporting local small businesses, but when the price doesn't meet the quality or service, then the support goes away. I did read previous good reviews about this place when they first opened and wanted to like it, but it was underwhelming. Not sure if it would have been better if we did Ala carte instead. It was a big miss on the Southern style food. We felt sick after eating and had to have a cup of green tea. We will not be going back. It seems like they still need a lot to figure out even after being open a few months.

What an absolute gem! The food at Pinnacle Maui is delicious -- my husband had the Big Bruddah Sandwich and I had the Panino Brisket Plate, and my goodness, we loved every single bite! The brisket was so tender and the mashed potatoes are a dream!!! Best mashed potatoes I've ever had, no joke! The sandwich hit the spot as well, it's super filling so order it on an empty stomach and you won't regret it! You can truly feel the love and care that goes into their cooking and service. This is a small, family-owned business, and Ploy and her husband are so welcoming, kind, and an absolute pleasure to talk with. Their hospitality made our meal even more special. We can't wait to come back and highly recommend supporting this amazing local spot!

Lick your screen!!! The brisket and ribs were seasoned well and cooked to perfection. It was so tender! It's really hard to find a restaurant that makes melt in your mouth brisket here on Maui but we can finally stop searching. Unfortunately, the corn bread was a little dry to my liking and so was the mac and cheese. But to each their own. It just wasn't for me. They have a couple of tables and chairs in the front of their restaurant if you would like to sit and eat there. The service was quick. I called it in at 7:00 pm and they said it should be done in 20 minutes and it was. All in all that brisket and ribs will have me going back to Pinnacle for more! Well done!!

Good meat and great sides. Service was great as well, staff was very friendly. Worth coming back for

The Pinnacle!! Oh my goodness SO AMAZING. One of THE BEST ribs I've had on Maui. The meat easily falls off so easy to eat, especially with their BBQ sauce (hint of spice). Their Mac and cheese is very cheesy and flavorful. The husband and wife are so sweet and nice. I recommend anyone to try this! 10/10 for sure

We've been coming here for years and I've always enjoyed my experiences here, but last night I had a dish that compelled me to write a review. The oxtail soup which is listed as a favorite is a dish I've been eyeing for a while, but it's usually been too warm for me to crave it. But last night was the night. I'm getting over a cold and it's been raining off and on for weeks. The bowl arrived at the table with a plate underneath - smart move because it takes some work to eat oxtail soup. Armed with my fork and spoon, I went at it. The first taste floored me. It was perfectly seasoned and I could taste the fresh ginger, the broth was a beautiful brown color, there was plenty of napa cabbage and it came with a dish of a scoop of glossy steamed rice and steamed carrots, zucchini and broccoli. Our waitress offered to bring over condiments so I went for the soy sauce - sprinkled on the rice and veggies, I noticed that the veggies might have had a little sesame oil flavor on them so that made me happy. A spoonful of rice dunked into the broth with some of the tender fall of the bone oxtail meat, and a little crunch of the napa cabbage and I was in absolute heaven. I tasted my husband's pork adobo and that was equally as delicious as always. But that soup - that's what really did it for me last night and stays with me today. I walked out of Tante's with a swollen and happy belly and a fresh, tiny piece of ginger stuck between my teeth...a treat for later.

I tried teh Kau Kau Tin with pork belly and garlic noodles, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and a small mac salad. Generally, the Kau Kau Tin and the mac salad were utterly bland. The mac salad tasted of nothing. The garlic noodles in the Kau Kau tin also lacked flavor. The garlic noodle had the slightest of garlic taste. The pork belly was perfectly cooked and was the best part of the Kau Kau tin and I made sure to make each every piece of that. The Spicy Chicken sandwich was the most disappointing item I tried. The chicken patty was just a VERY FATTY piece of fried chicken. It was terrible. The texture shock alone from biting through crispy crust to gelatinous fat was shocking. But then, the chicken was not seasoned. It was a textural monstrosity that had no flavor. All in all, I'm glad I tried it. I will definitely try it again when back on the island in hopes that this was just a bad day.

However, my husband discovered this jewel while gassing up at Costco. He saw someone eating an amazing burrito and we had time. We shared chips and green salsa. Fantastic green salsa with onions, mild (medium, says the husband). He order carne asada burrito. The flour tortilla was fresh, pliable and "moist". His words. Big Hunks of delicious meat. I had a fish taco and a pollo asado taco combo with rice and black beans. They were both on a soft corn tortilla, with lettuce, jalapeño, onions and cilantro. Amazing spice on the pollo! The fish was perfectly grilled with a mild spice that didn't overwhelm the fish. I had to stop myself from licking the plate and I think I barely breathed between bites as I inhaled the meal. I definitely recommend Las Piñatas of Maui if you are looking for authentic Mexican food in Maui. Best Mexican since we moved out of California in 2022. When we got there, someone in our party greeted the hostess and told her our group size. She scoffed, "Well, I don't see a name!!" I thought to myself, "Ohhhh, that's why." Apparently you have to type in your name or else the hostess will let her pettiness out. Go get a massage or eat a Snickers or something. Jeebus. Rude hostess aside, our waitress was great. Sorry I didn't catch any names. Food was also great. Just like the Zippy's I'm used to. People saying this is Hawaii's version of Denny's or IHOP are doing Zippy's a bit of a disservice. It's a diner, yes, but the food quality is much better. Plenty of seating on a Thursday night. Parking lot had lots of spaces available too. I'm sure it's busier on the weekends.
