The food here is amazing! The location is perfect! The staff is friendly! The decor is rustic! The only downside is they're not open 7 days a week and close earlier on Saturdays! It's understood that being a local business means ensuring a guaranteed day off for the staff every week! We just love y'all so much we wish we could see you and eat here more often! The menu has something for everyone! Sandwiches, wraps, salads, pasta dishes and even single serve sides! They even have a full fridge of take and bake dishes! We've tried the sandwiches and wraps and really need to dig into the pasta dish side of the menu! I don't doubt, however, that it is also amazing! What a fantastic and delicious deli! I have come here a few times before, but finally decided to write a review. In my past experiences, much like this one, I was met with a delicious sandwich. I have tried a few different items on the menu during my visits, and today I ordered the Reuben, which they prepare very well. The only criticism I have is that they are quite busy for lunch, so I recommend placing an order online or calling it in. Although it didn't take a super long time, it did take a bit to stand in line and wait, and then order my food. It was fine, and I didn't wait too long, but if you are strapped for time, you might want to consider calling your meal in advance. That being said, I was served quickly, and $14.50 for a sandwich, drink, and chips is pretty much the going rate these days, especially since they use high-quality Boar's Head products. The food was delicious, but the star of this joint was the last hour banter with Linda, the cashier. Funny and quick witted, she made quick work of the menu to direct me to some excellent choices for a late evening meal. Everything she recommended was delicious. To top it all off, the owner's son whipped me up a few of the classics after hearing my struggle selecting from the menu. A few minutes later, I had some corned beef, pastrami, and pork roll on a custom platter. It reminded me of home! read more

Can't say enough about this hidden gem in HP ! Hidden in a strip center near Goofyfoot Brewery, and Fleet Feet, Capra's is not your usual sandwich shop. Italian subs stacked with prosciutto, mortadella, soppresatta, etc., homemade cannolis and tiramisu, take home dishes such as lasagna, and rigatoni, you won't find such a selection at the corporate sandwich spots like Subway, Jersey Mike's, etc. Service with a smile, too. (3.75 stars) I tried Capra's in their new location, and while my stance on this place hasn't undergone a complete 180, credit should be given where credit is due. For starters, the new space (across 68 from the old) is roomier and more inviting. The outdoor tables will make for a welcome option during warmer months. I went with an Italian Sub this time, and while I've definitely had better, it was still satisfying (the roll was also much better than I remembered). My wife enjoyed the roasted red peppers in the Luigi Special, and for both of us (native Northerners who grew up with Italian delis nearby), Capra's scratched a nostalgic itch. All told, it's a solid lunch option, especially when an Italian sandwich craving hits. read more

This little deli is serving delicious and well done subs, sandwiches, salads, wraps, all the sides are so fresh! I love how small and quaint and homey this deli offers. The staff are very friendly and have always pointed me in the right direction when it comes to their family style meals that you can take and bake. They also have a selection of sweet treats, dry goods from Italy and wonderful cheeses! I usually get the Italian but all of the sandwiches I have had were so fresh and seasoned very well! This deli has been in High Point most of my life, yet I have not really been there since high school. It was in a different location then, across 68, from where it is now. They just recently moved to this new spot in the newer shopping center, and with this move plus a desire to try a new sandwich spot, I decided to give this oldie a try. First thing I noticed, the prices on the sandwiches are very fair. Most any sandwich you can think of is available, and they use Boar's Head meat. The Is bright and inviting, with high ceilings. There's a lot of seating both inside and outside. My first complaint however, is that inside they are using those terrible awful chairs that are solid metal, and poke in your hips at just the wrong places. In my opinion, these chairs should be outlawed. But there is no question that they will last forever, unfortunately. Really hate this trend. Next thing to know, your side selection here is going to be limited to cold salads and bag chips. While there's nothing necessarily wrong with that, the choices are fairly plain, and the pasta salad I had was extremely basic. I totally understand. Not wanting to deal with a fryer and grease, but would love it if the sides got a little more attention. Another thing to be aware of for southerners, there is no brew tea here. Just gold peak tea out of the fountain. Yuck. Looking toward the sandwich though, I got a club sandwich on ciabatta bread, and it was a pretty good version! The amount of meat in the sandwich was fair, and it actually had bacon on it as any good club should. All in all, it was a decent experience. But just doesn't compare to some of my favorite sandwich places around. I definitely think it could with a few small changes. read more

I was running a lunch errand and needed something quick so I tried a place near my whereabouts for the first time, Capra's Deli in High Point (@caprasdeli.com) This is an 8" roast beef and Swiss on toasted wheat with a bunch of veggies, mayo, oregano, and vinegar. And they actually put on extra vinegar without me even watching! It was so good. Very friendly and helpful server took my order and I was back in time to work, with my meal. read more

I enjoyed it here! I asked for the most popular sandwich& the cashier told me it was the Italian. So, I ordered the Italian. It had great flavor & I enjoyed the oil and vinegar, but still needed Mayo, especially after adding my bbq chips to the sandwich. My girlfriend had a club sandwich with no turkey and extra ham. Her sandwich was really good, and I think it would have been even better if it was warm but cold was still very tasty. The cashier was very helpful and was willing to answer any questions about the menu. The ambiance is very chill and enjoyable and makes for a great lunch spot, as it was not too busy and food comes out within 5-7 mins. There is parking all around the building so it was easy to get to, even though it is off of a busy road. Wanted baklava from the dessert cooler but it was dry,so maybe I caught them on a bad day. Either way, when I return I want to try their Italian cannolis. In their coolers there are also take home meals, which I thought was pretty cool. I have visited Capra's multiple times. They have incredible lasagna and eggplant parmesan (I take it home for family meals). Their reuben sandwich has gotten far inferior to what it was. They say it is Boar's Head meat. I beg to differ. My pastrami at Harris Teeter is not this fatty! I got, maybe 2 bits in, then I decided to toss it. I actually thought they put turkey in it. 10/10 packed with good flavor and the perfect portion size. Convenient parking, can order ahead and pick up or order at the register. Workers were attentive and gave you your food relatively fast. They have a tv playing in the background, on the wall, and lots of tables both inside and outside to sit at (with umbrellas). There's plenty of options for drinks and extra snacks. They even have to-go meals and other prepped food ready for you in large fridges if you need a quick meal to heat up in the oven. **The ONLY downfall that we found was that the food was VERY messy in the packaging (we took ours to-go). I had a chicken pesto wrap that was leaking EVERYWHERE all over the bag, covered and dripping all over the wrapper, down my arm, leaving a puddle once opening it up. The wrap was loosely rolled up. Same with the meatball sub, very messy and hard to eat. Especially if you're literally on the go and need to eat it without plates or a proper sit-down area. If you are craving a basic deli sandwich, you can select between a sandwich bread such as pastrami in rye or a sub with an array of meats and cheeses. They slice the meat right there. They also have a to go section with deli salads and other Italian items. I had the delectable prosciutto and fresh mozzarella on an 8" sub which also had olive oil and vinegar, tomatoes, basil, and herbs. It was a tasty treat! Sandwiches come with chips-bbq or plain-or pretzels and a dill pickle. You can also upgrade to potato salad or pasta salad. Capra's deli is fantastic. The main reason - it's consistent. Consistently fresh, consistently filling portions, and consistently tasty. Biggest complaints are the brand of chips (I'm a salt and vinegar or kettle girl) and the slaw is not the most flavorful but it does the job. Other than that, it's a delicious spot for sandwiches and Italian dishes. And great desserts! read more

I have visited Capra's several times and continuously have the same experience. This place is always clean, friendly service and stellar food. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients. This is like a little mom and pop place vibe where you taste the love in the food. Our favorites here are typically an Italian, but today I brought just the kids and I ventured out. Everything was great and kids are sooo full, as they have very generous portions and good pricing for what you get. Covid-19 take out review. I always like eating out. Heck, I am an Elite Yelper for a reason. I am so sick of making dinners and I have been craving a meatball sub. So when I said to my husband, I need something different. He immediately said, "Manicotti from Capras!" so I rushed to the phone. Ordering was easy. I was able to pay over the phone. Our take out was brought to my car. All was safe, quick and easy. 20 minutes! After wiping down all containers and zapping all food for 30 seconds, we ate like it was our last meal. It was fine. The meatball sub had provolone and the manicotti was filled with ricotta. All was good and satisfying. Service was sincere. Spend some $$ here. It is deserved. read more

If guessed Italian deli, you're correct! Located in a strip mall with the other businesses listed above, Capra's seems very much out of place. But what really matters is what is inside, right? I ordered a reuben, potato salad, and an Italian sub for later. Reuben: competent; could have used both more cheese and more dressing. The corned beef (Boar's Head) was good, and the sandwich was piping hot. Potato salad: outstanding! This potato salad is one of the best I've had--perfect consistency, a delightful tang, a lovely amount of celery to add that occasional crisp that I love in salads of this sort. Italian sub: disappointing. the bread was hard and tough to the point of making the sandwich difficult to eat. And the meats just weren't that great. Maybe I should have stuck it in the oven. I also did not care much for the dressing on it--it was too sweet. A customer at a table nearby had a meatball sub, and it smelled fantastic. They also have all sorts of enticing homemade dishes on display in refrigerator and freezer cases. They are very friendly: the person who took my order (you order at the counter and they call your number when it is ready) was kind, patient, and helpful. Another employee (owner?) cheerfully asked if everything was good as I left. This is all to say that I struggled with this star rating. With the exception of the potato salad, my food today was a 3. That said, I believe they could be a solid 4 star joint based on other things I saw.  Perhaps I will come back to check out the other items and adjust my review accordingly (or not). I've visited Capra's Deli a couple of times and have been happy with my choices. Located in a strip on HWY 68 in High Point they are technically on Willard Dairy Rd which is where you must turn to access the parking lot. Looking at the menu they have a lot of sandwiches offering Boars Head meat, a lot. From standard ham and cheese to a couple of different Italian choices, they have something that you'll like. They also carry just a few dishes such as spaghetti and lasagna. My visits have been for lunch during the work week. The line to order has been very short but patrons are always seated and eating. The lady that has taken my order has been very kind. Wait time for my food has varied each time. Once I got my sandwich very quickly but this second time I waited approx 10 minutes while a large call in order was prepared. That's cool but if you have a short lunch break calling ahead may be a good option. read more

Let me start by saying I used to frequent Capra's back in the 80's when attending GTCC and it was on High Point Rd. I'm old, I know. Anyway, the food is just as good as I remember it. We had the Italian, a side salad, Cajun turkey and provolone on wheat toast and potato salad. Everything was very tasty and portions are large. The potato salad is not your typical southern style with a ton of mustard. I prefer a light mayo based tater salad and there's is perfect, just needed a touch of salt and pepper. Service at the counter by a delightful man taking orders. Get your number, take a seat and they call you when it's ready. They are following Covid guidelines and require masks. It was almost full when we left so it's a popular lunch spot. You can also purchase to go meals from a freezer case if you want to take something home for dinner. read more
