Upon sitting we were greeted, given water and told the server it was our first time. We received no explanation of the menu or dishes and were left alone for roughly 15 minutes. We finally were able to put drinks in, only after our server was rude about the type of sake my friend was trying to order. We let it slide but we waited another 30+ minutes before we were able to put in food! We had already been sitting at the table for nearly an hour. The food however, arrived promptly and was delicious. We enjoyed everything we ate. We did have to ask to receive refills on our waters and to have our plates cleared. Overall our experience felt disjointed and incredibly unorganized. If it weren't for the food being excellent this would be a one star review. Beauty full space, excellent food, abhorrent service.

The manager, Katy, will meet you outside the restaurant and know your name before you even have a chance to speak it. If you're arriving early or waiting for some of your party, you'll be seated at the cocktail bar to wait and drink. In our case, we were brought right to our seats. We were offered a drink pairing and some additions to the tasting menu for the night. My partner and I both opted for cocktails and saké, but I hope to do the drink pairing next time. Their sommelier was able to answer any questions we had about drinks, and her recommendations were spot on. We also ordered their caviar dish, which was excellent and I'd recommend - although it did seem a little misplaced as a French-style dish on an otherwise Japanese-style menu. The zensai (appetizers) offered before the nigiri tasting started were all excellent in their own ways. You're able to converse with the chefs as they work in front of you throughout the entire tasting. We were offered 10 courses of nigiri as part of the tasting, with some options for off-menu pieces that we opted for as well. The dessert was excellent and paired with some green tea before the meal came to a close. We were given copies of our menu for the night, incense, and because we went to celebrate around my birthday, I was given a card signed by the staff. Expect to pay between $300-$500 a person depending on pairings or extras. A price I was happy to pay given the level of service and food. I've paid more for meals I was less happy with. Can't wait to go back!

I've done omakase in a lot of places and I came in knowing what it can be. This didn't get there. The part that actually soured it: we were taking photos because we were thrilled to be there, doing exactly what the chefs were encouraging. A nearby guest seemed annoyed that we were enjoying ourselves, and instead of anything being said to her, a server came over and singled me out. In a bright, loud room, while the chefs were actively performing for the cameras, that felt backwards. It made the happiest, most engaged people at the counter feel like the problem. The items on the menu online were very different than what was offered on the menu in the actual restaurant. I was interested in eating items that were not available and the food on the menu did not interest me as much. Too much fusion. The best thing we had was the miso soup . The fish was not "fishy", yet did not seem that fresh. You would think on a Friday night the food would be fresh and ready to go. Even the rice didn't seem fresh.

My husband and I had dinner here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and boy were we in for a surprise. First and foremost, they sent us parking and driving instructions prior to our visit. Someone from the restaurant greeted us where the parking area is and walked us to the restaurant. I don't want to spoil much of the surprise but service here is impeccable. It seats maybe 10 and we received the best service imaginable. I love the little touches like putting a hook to the seat so you can hang your purse and providing a menu of the different food items we were eating with a "passport" stamp of when the food we were consuming arrived! But now onto the food... Again, I don't want to ruin the experience for everyone but I would like to point out that their dishes are very good and so fresh. We've tried other omakase restaurants and this place doesn't just serve sushi rolls, the food their serve takes on a journey or the different specialties Japan has to offer. Our personal favorites were the sawara from the zen garden course (the pickled ramp was such an interesting and inventive addition that made this way better), nama uni from the gai course (some quality uni that I would be dreaming about for days to come) and Chu-toro from the nigiri course (it was the right amount of fat for my personal preference). The Yaki sakana and sukiyaki courses were my favorites because of all the flavors these courses delivered. This was definitely on a pricier end for $255 per person, plus drinks - their cocktails were $20 each, they have a great selection of sake/wine as well. For me, this was a 4.5/5 stars as some of the food items were a miss, like all the seaweeds and octopus were meh. I also thought the uni rice was too sour for my taste. Other than that, everything was exceptional.

The bar is the centerpiece of the room, and it absolutely should be. It's beautiful, and the level of craft behind the cocktails matches the setting. We tried four different cocktails throughout the night, and all were excellent. These are some of the best cocktails I've had in Georgia, easily on par with places like Kimball House and the other great cocktail programs in Atlanta. The wine list deserves recognition as well. It feels developed with purpose rather than simply being a collection of expensive or recognizable labels. There is enough range to pair thoughtfully across the entire menu. We had a bottle of Brunello that was fantastic. On to the food. We ordered every appetizer on the menu except the Wagyu. The sashimi was very good, although I wish there were an option to add real wasabi or freshly grated wasabi root. At this level, I would much rather have that than powdered wasabi. The tuna tartare was also very good, but surprisingly, my favorite part may have been the nori chips. They were absolutely packed with umami. The standout appetizer, hands down, was the caviar service and Caesar salad. I've never had Caesar presented quite this way. It was excellent--savory and full of umami. The accoutrements for caviar were amazing in taste without overpowering the caviar. Very creative and extremely well executed. For the entrées, we tried several of the steaks. The American Wagyu New York strip was flavorful but a little tougher than I expected. We paired it with the bordelaise, which was very well made. The American Wagyu ribeye was much better, and the au poivre was an excellent pairing. Then came the A5 zabuton. I think this cut is going to become one of the best ways to experience Japanese A5 in America. Traditional A5 can almost become too rich when you try to eat a substantial portion. Zabuton, being a shoulder cut, still gives you that incredible A5 richness and flavor, but in a way that allows you to enjoy a heartier piece of meat. This was one of the highlights of the night. The gindara may be the best value on the menu. The portion was generous--essentially enough that it felt like three orders--and it was delicious. We also ordered every side except the green beans. The cabbage was probably my least favorite; as I mentioned to our server, I was a little wary of how saucy it was. The sweet potato preparation was very savory and an interesting way to present sweet potatoes, although it wasn't personally my style. The rice, however, was exceptional--some of the best-prepared rice I've had. You can tell they're using very high-quality Japanese rice and treating something seemingly simple with a lot of care. The miso soup was also notably rich and flavorful. Dessert ended the meal on a high note. Both the cheesecake and coconut ice cream were true stars and absolutely worth saving room for. Service was good overall, but this is probably the area with the most room to improve. We actually didn't realize who our primary server was until later in the meal because they didn't come to the table until quite a bit into the experience. One of our sweet potato sides was also never brought out, although it was removed from the bill without issue. The server assistants were the stars of the service team. They were relaxed, attentive, and helped maintain the atmosphere without making the experience feel stiff. With some additional training around the smaller details and ownership of the table, I think the service could rise to the same level as the food, beverage program, and room. One thing I especially loved was the atmosphere and music. It reminded me of something I loved about Mujo and Chef J. Trent Harris. I once commented on hearing "I Got 5 on It" playing at Mujo, and Trent basically explained that if he's going to be there all day, he's going to listen to music he actually likes. That relaxed confidence carries over here. Koshu Club gets the sound right. You can comfortably have a conversation while still hearing and enjoying the music, and there's definitely some hip-hop mixed in. It feels curated rather than like generic fine-dining background music. Overall, a great experience and some of the more innovative dishes I've had in Atlanta. The room, cocktails, wine program, caviar Caesar, A5 zabuton, rice, and desserts were the standouts for me. There are some service details that can be tightened up, but the foundation here is extremely strong. Koshu Club feels like a restaurant with a clear point of view--and I'm excited to see where they take it.

Although, the taste was okay, it would have been way better if it was less saltier (including the gindara and mushroom doria...it was disappointing to use such great quality ingredients, and overwhelm it with salt (And I love salty foods). I dont think Japanese cuisine should use that much salt in their foods.
