This is definitely a step above the usual mall fare, and is a place that I will occasionally stop at even if I'm not at the mall on some other vital mission. I always order the chicken pad thai and it's very good. Pretty big portion, and the chicken is very tender and delicious. I've never ordered the curry because I'm spoiled by my awesome homemade version. Not to brag or anything : ) It can't hold a candle to Chantanee, but it's definitely my top choice at the food court. read more

I usually like to go with the majority when rating a restaurant, but..... The food here is great, so 5 star food!! I was originally going to give this place 4 stars, the food is cheap for what it is and it is not painful for the eye to look at the decoration is nice, not overwhelming or to fancy but just right. I have got to say, The service here, horrible. Don't get me wrong, they don't mess up your order or do something on their phone while your there standing in front of them, waiting for them to take your order, but we managed to catch one EATING behind the counter, seriously. You just lost your self 1 star, really this place has good food, good décor, good everything.. but even for a strip mall restaurant, and it being cheap, this is just not expectable for someone to be doing this in a restaurant. One thing I like about it is they make the food right there in front of you so you know they aren't putting a bunch of chemicals in your food unlike some places.. This is a nice convenient place for Verizon folks (and others in the area) to get lunch without having to go to Factoria or downtown. I really like their massamun curry; the sauce is sooo tasty- but it's a lot of sauce and bamboo shoots, and not so much meat. I've also noticed their to-go portions are a lot less generous than you get dining there. Came here for lunch on Sunday. It's at the Crossroads mall food court, so there is plenty of parking and seating. The curry wasn't bad, it was pretty creamy but not very spicy. Also the chicken in the curry was a bit overcooked and dry. They didn't ask me for a spiciness rating. Instead they have some spicy sauce that you can add at your discretion. The salad on the side has some sweetish tangy dressing. Not sure what it is, but tasted fine. I do wish they gave a little more rice, since they give a pretty big bowl of curry. read more

I ordered the chicken pad thai and I was very very disappointed. It was the worst pad thai I have ever had and I had to wait about 10 minutes for them to even start making my pad thai. The noodles were very soggy, the chicken was bland and the worst was the pad thai sauce was not sweet but bitter. It was disgusting. Given, it's in a food mall, there are lot of options around and ambience is good but this is the best thai place in Bellevue. I'm not sure what happened to our food today, seeing as how there are so many good reviews. My sister and I visited at 5pm and ordered the #1 and #2 combo meals. She liked her red curry chicken but my lemongrass chicken was seriously lacking flavor of any kind, especially lemongrass. The phad thai was the worst. It wasn't freshly made, it was very old. Very mushy, barely warm and lacked flavor. The people working there seemed nice, but that unfortunatly will be our first and last visit to this restaurant. read more

I've been eating at O'Char for about 20 years now and honestly the best Thai food which has always drawn me back. Service is excellent, their green curry and Thai coffee are my go to always! I tried their red curry chicken, not bad. Actually, I should say "reached expectation". The chicken is a little overcooked (considering it's been sitting there for a while and they just scoop it out from the pot when you order), but the curry is decent. You'd see some major wok actions while you're waiting for your food, which is quite amusing to watch (I'm Asian, and it's still pretty amusing to me) Red curry chicken + thai coffee = $11. I've eaten here for years. My last order was completely wrong (which is ok - it's how they handled it that I have a problem with). I ordered a noodle dish with chicken. They gave me a meatless bean and peppers dish with rice and salad (none of this I should have on my plate). When I said this doesn't look like my order, he insisted it was... "yes, that's what I made, Pad See Ew, but there are no noodles. You have rice". He then walked away, obviously secure in the feeling that he had convinced me I didn't know Thai food. Trying to tell me that even though I don't see it I have my pad see ew order is beyond belief. They essentially took my money, made something random, and served it up and walked away. I came to O'Char Thai just before catching a movie at Crossroads. We reached at 8:45 pm and they asked if we wanted to have a to-go or dine in. Since the movie was at 9:30 pm, I decided to take a dine in. Ordered Basil fried rice with shrimp and spice level of 4/5. The food came out in about 5-7 mins which was pretty quick. However, she gave it to me in a to-go box with plastic spoons. Eww... !! The whole point of having to dine in was to avoid the plastic waste. Moreover, no one brought it to my attention that the food court closes at 9 pm. Both me and my husband had to eat our food hurriedly. The food was ok. The spice level seemed to be just too high for a 4. I normally have very spicy food but the spice levels were off the charts here. I would have rather ate comfortably at Chipotle's. But oh well, I was craving thai food that day. I really wish there are more Thai food restaurants in the area. The closest to my knowledge is Baitong but price wise, it's a tad bit on the higher side. I don't think I will be back here unless I have plenty of time to shop around and sit down to eat. read more

Stopped by the Crossroads food court for lunch after watching a movie across the street on a Saturday. I like this food court because it offers up a wide variety of ethnic foods as compared to your regular malls. The mall was packed and so was the food court. This Thai place was the busiest of them all so I considered looking elsewhere but decided to try it out. I was not disappointed. I ordered the combo Curry and Pad Thai and it was great. I eat a lot of Thai food as its one of my favorite cuisines. You can tell the food was made fresh and they knew how to cook real Thai food. I had my two young kids with me and they enjoyed the fried rice and Pad Thai I ordered for them. This place was definitely worth the wait and when we go back to the mall we will be having Thai again. read more

I have been going to Ochar for years; they used to have a another location in Eastgate, and we would often go there for lunch or pickup. I love their Tom Kha Gai, and their green curry was always a nice choice. A few Sundays ago we went to Crossroads to have a late lazy lunch and draw. We hadn't eaten since about 8 the night before, (it was around 3), and we were hungry so we ordered two plates and soup to split. It was cashew chicken, basil chicken and Tom Kha with chicken. With two drinks, the total is almost $30. The past few times prior we had been there had been less than stellar - the food took a long time to cook, and seemed a little dry. We were both really craving Thai food though, so we thought maybe since it wasn't so busy it would be a better experience. Nope. The stir frys came up first, and I had just started to step away when I realised the cashew chicken had no cashews. The little bin by the wok was empty so he had to go in back; it made me wonder if they hoped we wouldn't notice. I came back for the soup, and we were just about to take a spoonful each when we noticed it was wrong - it was with shrimp. I still had my receipt, I took it up and showed them it was wrong, and they teased the girl there, 'You did it wrong! You were supposed to make it with chicken!' Guys, your batting average isn't great here, I wouldn't horse around and laugh and joke. I know two people who have shellfish allergies, (one carries an epi pen), and if they had taken a bite... well. It would not have been good. They said they would bring the soup by and they did, a little while later, (and it tasted good). It was a few bites later that I discovered what was wrong with the Basil Chicken. I was pushing some aside, trying to find sauce pockets (there were none), when I came across a small curly piece of metal. It was from their scrub brushes that they use to clean their woks. We had three dishes and there was something wrong with every one, and when I brought the metal back, the guy asked if it was in the Basil Chicken! How did he know? I ran through all the junk that happened with our order and reminded him we had been coming here for years but why would I spend $30 here again when there was a problem with every dish and they didn't seem to be serious about it? I admit I was freaked out because I have heard of metal from grill brushes perforating intestines, and I was upset; I HATE doing this sort of thing. He seemed confused, like he wasn't sure if he could give me any kind of credit right now and asked me to write my name down and next time they would buy the Basil Chicken. I wrote my name down, said whatever and walked away. My meal THAT DAY was junk; I don't want to spend more money at a restaurant just to get one other thing free. I mean, I found METAL in my food; the whole thing was a cluster bomb from start to finish and they didn't seem to care very much. They have REALLY slipped since their hey day - the food is expensive, it's dry, it's not made properly and when there is a mistake, there is little desire to make it right. If I go here again it will be with a gun pointed at my head, such a shame because I liked it and am a loyal customer when I find something I groove on. read more

I've been eating at this location and their other locations around the Eastside area for many years, and they truly stick to the Thai taste and making sure all their ingredients are fresh. They are very family oriented and show true customer care. The owner and the family has been dedicated to make sure their restaurants are managed professionally and display true Thai culture. When it comes to taste, they won't make anything that they won't eat themselves. They take pride in what they make and serve to their customers. The food was average at most. What really pissed me off is that they think they can charge me extra money on my credit card because I didnt leave tip. Last time I checked you didn't have to pay tip at a food court where you wait for your food and carry it to the table yourself. Apparently they thought differently. I signed off on a certain amount on my check and they changed this amount. This is fraud! read more
