So we decided to try this again after not going here for a couple years because of issues. And we were not impressed my wife got the salad with fried chicken in it and it was just OK. I got the hamburger with barbecue sauce, lettuce, tomato pickle, and Onion straws. The burger was OK. The onion straws seem like they were sitting for a while greasy and I got the sweet potato fries which seemed to be like they were under the heat lamp for hours, and after eating they left a lot of black pieces from the sweet potato fries on my plate like the burnt stuff. Excellent food and superb service. We entered and were immediately greeted by a server. She (Regan) apologized that she wasn't the hostess, but she would try her best. She did not disappoint. Her suggestions included the plank grilled salmon and the chicken harvest soup. I upgraded to a bowl (it was delicious), and it lived up to the "like pot pie" comparison. This was an atrocious experience from start to finish. Five minutes to be seated, every plate half eaten, more staff than customers with the slowest service ever. When the bread came out, we knew dinner would not happen here. It wasn't their signature fluffy yeast bread. Instead, there were a few stiff, stale, microwave rolls with sweet butter. One bite, and I gagged, literally was almost sick! The overly sweet butter with the unevenly heated, sour, stale bread was a revolting combination. Despite half eaten food was on every plate, there was no smell throughout the entire place! I tried waiting to tip after paying for a soda but the serve today waaaaaaayyyyy too long to return. When me and my cousin got there we were seating quickly but were given bread and drinks with no silverware. My cousin found a hair on her plate and when I broke my chicken I found another. Our server was quite rushing also. read more

We haven't been to OC in a while. The food and service quality seemed to fall drastically, so we stopped eating at this location. O'Charley's has some nice new menu items. The staff was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, they got rid of sweet potato fries and the Kids Eat Free menu. Plus, the restaurant has a bad smell, almost like old, wet carpet. We ordered tenders with fries and one side salad, which is a normal side, and one house salad, which has a $1.99 upcharge. We received two house salads, both with an upcharge. The price for chicken tenders with a salad was comparable to a sirloin dinner ($15), which is absurd. The French silk pie came out with a creamy liquid (non-whipped or deflated cream?) on top. IMHO, next time we want chicken tenders, there's a very famous fast food chicken restaurant with good tenders and better value. read more

Birthday dinner for mother 4/26/25. Server was hustling so my review concerns food quality. Mother's steak came overdone the first time, too rare the second time. Not wanting to complain again, she just covered it with her napkin and ate the vegetables. The chicken tenders I received were hard, unappealing. I have never seen a chicken tender so ruined. Not wanting to add to the unpleasantness, I just left them on my plate. The salad of another diner on our party was topped with the same crusty tenders. Don't know whether this was just a bad day in the kitchen, but someone needs to do better. To top it off, a large cockroach was on the floor on its back beside my chair. Ordered the steak & chicken tenders with a side of broccoli & side salad with ranch. The pictures are from the second plate that they sent me. The first plate, all of my food was cold & the steak burnt. It took an 1-1/2 hours for us to even get our food. The second plate came as the picture shows. Completely unsatisfactory food and service. We waited ten minutes before our server even came by for drinks and she rushed off before we could also order an appetizer. When she came back with the drinks we ordered pickle chips, a chicken sandwich with buffalo sauce, and a bacon cheeseburger with a side of fried okra. The restaurant was mostly empty but the food took forever to come out. When it finally did come out server dropped it and took off again, there was no bacon on my bacon cheeseburger, it was so greasy it was dripping, the lettuce had rotten and dried up brown spots, one tiny tomato slice, one tiny onion ring that was withered and old, and one less than fresh pickle slice. The chicken sandwich barely had any sauce on it. We had to wait another 10 minutes for our server to come back and when I told her there was no bacon and showed her the rotten lettuce her response was "There's no bacon?" When I also asked where our pickle chips were she said, " You didn't order pickle chips. I didn't hear you order them and I didn't write it down." Excuse me?! So I sent the burger back & against my better judgment let them remake it. Twenty minutes go by and another server stopped to ask us if we needed refills on anything. We asked for the check and he went to find our server. She came halfway out of the kitchen and asked if I wanted them to make it to go... they hadn't even started to reorder! We declined. I'm a regular at the O! I have been eating from this particular location quite some time and 98 % of time the order is perfect. That's pretty good in my book. If there's an issue they resolve it quickly and amicably. The waiter's and staff have always been accommodating. The food fits my lifestyle perfectly. While the service was incredible, I will not be coming back. There was an ant cooked into the dough of my pie. We also ordered the chips and queso, and the chips tasted burnt and bitter. My mother(who is a very well studied cook), said they had likely been reheated in a microwave. Her asparagus was also very undercooked. We decided to ignore it and continue our meal until the pie. My apple pie was undercooked, which I ate around, until I saw the bug cooked into the crust. Service was terrible - customers were all irritated by the loud laughing and carrying on by two waitresses the whole reactant could hear their conversation. The tenders were overcooked or cooked twice hard as a rock. The only good thing was fries and our waitress would come walk up behind our table and talk without being in front of us and tally quickly and leave. I miss the best waitress we ever had was here - we wrote a review about her two years ago. Ordered for curbside pickup, and called in 5 minutes after the time they said it would be ready. Hannah said "wait 10 more minutes and then come in and see if it's ready". She wouldn't go back to see if it was. At 20 minutes past time, we go in and ask Hannah to go back and see. She did, and it was. We asked if it had been sitting, and they said no. When we got it home, everything was cold and the one steak was so far over cooked that it was inedible. Called back in to talk to a manager, but hung up after waiting 10 minutes. Makes me want to eat. Because that's what I want, an employees cough syrup, in the kitchen, raining down on the plates served to unsuspecting customers. Keep the OTC medicines in a locker, employee room, car, anywhere but above the serving plates IN the kitchen. Who wants medicine in their food much less some lung butter cough syrup or cough juice in their food. If you're sick stay the F home. But wait there's more. Poor service. Mike brings out a Moscow Mule with limes in it. My partner said she hates limes in her drinks. So he just offers to remove them with tongs. Nice thought Mike, but don't you realize that the lime juice leaches into the drink? Saw one of the bar area waitress carrying out a salad with croutons on it. Which is great. Although she was chomping on something making me wonder, if she stole a crouton. Def not a high end restaurant ‍ Lastly, ordered chicken tenders for each of us. Plain. Not tossed and one with honey mustard. So one came out ok and the other came tossed with no honey mustard. Oops, one more issue....couple near us ordered a Sonoma salad with missing fried onions and black bean corn salsa. Fail. So customer pointed out to Mike Mike Mike, the missing ingredients. Mike x3 comes out with a basket / boat of fried onions and let the customer pick onions out with her own fork, at which point he went back to the kitchen with the remain long boat. What a great evening. Service was spectacular. Food really good! Last night in the area & decided to treat ourselves to a great dinner that wasn't park food. Although our waitress was slammed with a lot of tables she took very good care of us. I had the 1/2lb prime rib and daughter had shrimp pasta. We both left stuffed! We had the fried pickles too. Anyone who's following my reviews knows that I'm currently 9 months pregnant and on the struggle bus. Being that I live smack dab in the middle of suburbia, we've been frequenting chains a lot more than normal. I hadn't been in an O'Charley's in what seemed like forever, but we wanted to stay close to home, so that's where we ended up when hunger struck the other day. Overall, I was actually surprised with our experience. It was in the middle of the day during the week, so hardly anyone was there. Our server was very attentive and the meal passed by quickly. I ordered the peach chutney chicken with a loaded baked potato and broccoli. Hubby ordered fish and chips. His wasn't really anything to write home about, but I'd say mine was above average! Especially the loaded baked potato. So fattening, but soooo good. The chicken was surprisingly not dry, and the peach chutney added some good flavor. Broccoli is broccoli, so nothing to report there. Then, of course, there were the delicious rolls. Idk, O'Charley's definitely isn't somewhere that we'd ever choose to go frequently, but it was was an easy fix. Not to mention, we both ate for $28 including tax and tip. #winning read more

I wasn't particularly impressed with this O'Charley's. It was pretty overcrowded the day we went. However, that should never compromise service. Anywho, the food was ok. The kids food appeared to be a little over cooked. My chicken Alfredo didn't seem to have enough chicken. Hubby stated that he liked the shrimp scampi but it was a little over sauced. I would try to return when it isn't as over crowded and maybe we could have better service. Our waitress left us hanging on several different occasions for refills and the check. Quiet Tuesday night in the bar area. Ambiance and food was on brand for a chain fast-casual. Waitress was very quick and helpful with recommendations, even going so far as to recommend the lower priced of two dishes (rare). She did not did not disappoint; the country fried steak was on point, delicious, and served with a loaded baked potato. The green beans were ok, but not anything exciting. Would definitely return. Tonight we had to visit the neighborhood O'Charleys since the coupons (20%off) came in the mail. We arrived around 7:30 pm on a Saturday and I was expecting a long wait, but I was pleasantly surprised when my party was seated in less than 10 minutes. Major plus. We were seated at a booth (which wasn't clean upon our arrival). The hostess quickly got a rag to cleaned the area before we sat down. Once seated, we opened our menus and almost immediately Amber (our waitress for the evening) was there to greet us and take our drink orders. I called to reserve tables for our party of 22. I spoke to the assistant manager who was very friendly and assured me we were all set. Upon arriving our first guests checked in and the hostess was very confused. They didn't have our tables ready and seemed agitated. They finally got our tables ready and sent our server over. We only had one server for 22 guests. However , Sarah S. did a fantastic job at keeping us supplied in rolls and drinks until our food arrived. She was very sweet and did a super job !!! The manager came by our table to introduce himself and wish our mother a happy 80th birthday ! Our food was good and servings were plenty. The bar had solid wine and spirit offerings. The tvs were situated in good locations and mixed offerings that patrons could enjoy the mix without being overcrowded. I personally appreciated Bethannie the bartender's knowledge of the menu. I'm watching my diet and the menu doesn't have "low calorie" options spelled out but she was able to give a quick rundown of best options. Jasmine handle our large party with grace and ease! I had a special order that was delivered correctly. She was professional and friendly. I was impressed with my food. I had the Cobb salad but swapped out chicken for steak. Nice size. My father and I have been coming to this location for almost 10 years. Their food was always consistently good. Last night all that changed. I ordered my usual steak/ribs, med-rare, and my father got the ribs. What came to our table was not an O'Charley's steak--the meat was barely a quarter of an inch thick, filled with fat, and well done. It looked exactly like a steak I got from Waffle House once. I politely let the waiter know my steak was overdone. He was great. However, the steak I received on the 2nd go was Rare, and about the same quality---thin and NOT the advertised 6-oz on the menu or anywhere near the quality of food we're used to. At first, I wanted to blame the cook, but this wasn't the kitchen staff--I'd have overcooked a steak that thin and I was understanding he over-compensated on the 2nd. But even that was flat-out poor-quality meat. I didn't have to ask if the restaurant has changed its supplier. The answer is beyond obvious. The ribs were also sub-par (compared to their usual quality). I'm not above paying a few extra dollars for a decent steak and ribs. We all know food prices are rising, and we expect to pay for a good cut of meat. But changing your supplier to a far inferior quality meat on par with a Waffle House, but leaving the menu with the expectation that the customer is getting a 6-oz, thick-cut steak is false advertising at its most egregious. I really don't appreciate being lied to. Either raise your prices and keep the same quality or change the menu to reflect what you're actually serving so the customer can decide if it's worth the expense. But don't engage in false advertising. We're now debating if we'll be back, or if it's best to find a restaurant that doesn't lie to its customers. Maybe Waffle House. At least they're honest about what they're serving and it's the same cut of meat at a much cheaper price. read more

Hubby and I went to O'Charley's in Glen Allen for date night. Their complementary yeast rolls are great. We ordered their white cheese dip with homemade potato twists for an appetizer. The cheese dip wasn't white, but it was delicious, as were the potato twists! The restaurant wasn't very busy because we were there at the later end of the dinner shift, but the service was still slow and inattentive. Our waitress apologized several times for being slow, and forgetting a few requests (drink re-fills, steak sauce, etc.). She told us that she didn't mean to keep forgetting about us, but she was really into the football game they had playing. Sorry, no dice. If you're too distracted to do your job properly, go home. I ordered a veggie burger and the baked potato soup. Both were good, but the soup was a little watery. Kind of like they had a richer soup in the beginning of the evening, and instead of making more, they simply added water to what they had. Still tasty though. The hubs ordered steak, again, like always! He said his steak had a great flavor, but it was overcooked. Requested medium/medium rare, and it came out nearly well done. We didn't have room for dessert, even though they looked tempting.
