The food is not fresh. The owner has a store nearby and probably he's using expired food. I ordered crepes with sweet cottage cheese, cherry and poppy seeds mix and they tasted rotten, cottage cheese gave off a bad smell. The price is not cheap, 14$. Honestly I won't recommend you to come. Don't waste your money and time

Came in here for the first time with a group of guys really nice place lots of good desserts, crepes, avocado toast, and good coffee. They accidentally made a mushroom crêpe I let them know but told them it was OK, but they still went ahead and made a chicken crepe to go great family friendly service. Definitely would recommend and will be back nice seating and atmosphere.

Best desserts I've ever had. We ended up buying about 9 special treats and each one was a 10 out of 10!!

My gf heard about this Bulgarian restaurant on the news. They were featured and there reviews…read morereally drew her to it. Her family is from the Eastern Europe. It was fun trying somewhere new as we usually go to our favorites. For the past several years we've been going to Scott's for celebrations, but that has gotten old so thankfully we found somewhere new and loved it. I highly reccomend this restaurant. The ambiance is spectacular. If you can get one of the side tables under the overhang with the wine bottle chandelier you'll love it. Here's what we ordered: Borscht with Beef: Traditional red soup made with beets, beef, garden vegetables topped with sour cream- To me it didn't look appetizing, but it's a traditional dish so we split a cup. We didn't have much hope that would be edible. We were blown away trying it. It was actually good. We were shocked. It was so good. It was filled with pieces of tomatoes and beets and huge tender chucks of beef. Spinach Blini-Gluten free, vegetarian, 6 blintzes filled with spinach and creamy white sauce. We really enjoyed these Spinach Blini. They were very rich. I could only eat two to them and took the third one with me to share with my husband. He really liked it and wish there was more. I really wanted to get the Cherry Blini, but we were too full even though we shared an entree. I'm so disappointed as they looked so good. We needed a couple more people at our table so we could have tried more dishes and eaten everything family style. Beef Stew-Tender chunks of beef meat, potatoes, carrots, mushrooms and this good things stewed in perfectly hearty cheese gravy baked in clay pot and served with tortilla on top. We split this dish and it was the perfect amount for us. It was really good. The chunks of potatoes and meat were huge, the mushrooms were firm, and the flavor was really tasty.

I drove 30 minutes to get there and a lovely young Ukrainian woman served me with a smile and elegance and I really enjoyed the Borscht and I normally can't stand the taste of beets so I will definitely be back. I then ordered several of their other plates and also enjoyed them so I took them home and ate like a Ukrainian for a few days. :-)

We caught happy hour (which ends at 6:30 p.m.), enjoyed live music from a talented saxophone player until around 9:00 p.m., met a photographer selling beautiful, high-quality glass-encased photos, and were completely amazed by a magician performing unbelievable card tricks right at our table. What truly made the evening, though, was the staff. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy making guests feel special. That level of service elevated the entire experience. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, with elegant décor, gold accents throughout, beautiful brickwork, and spotless restrooms. Every detail felt thoughtfully designed and added to the upscale atmosphere. This is definitely on the pricier side, so I'd recommend taking a look at the menu beforehand if you're budget-conscious. That said, my steak was cooked to absolute perfection, and the quality matched the price. Overall, this would be a fantastic spot for a date night or a special occasion. I would absolutely come back. P.S: Hi V!!! My father Robert said he had a great time as well!!!

The location was easy to find, there was plenty of parking, and the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the ambiance. Our server, Zain, was Mr. Speedy. He took our drink and appetizer orders and rushed off without even asking if I wanted to order anything. It was an odd way to start the evening. I ordered the Regular Grey Goose Martini expecting a balanced 50/50 martini, but it came out way too wet. My friend's Perfect Peach cocktail was also noticeably watered down. The food was equally disappointing. The chicken wings tasted more like oven-baked wings from a pizza joint than buffalo wings. The scallop crudo was the one bright spot of the meal, it was fresh and delicious. We ordered the 14 oz ribeye medium, but it arrived overcooked and looked more like a Thin New York strip with virtually no marbling. For $69, it certainly didn't feel like a premium ribeye. My friend's lamb chops were also cooked well done. What ultimately ruined the experience, however, were the amount of flies swarming our table. We could barely get a few bites in before constantly shooing them away. It became so distracting that we decided to pack everything up and leave. I had mentioned several times that we were celebrating my friend's birthday. While I never expect complimentary desserts, I do appreciate restaurants acknowledging special occasions with a simple "Happy Birthday." There wasn't any acknowledgment at all. The most awkward moment of the night came when a inhouse photographer approached our table, took our picture, and assumed we were a couple, asking us to pose romantically. It was completely unexpected and uncomfortable. The photos they took was not a free souvenir for dinning here, it cost $25 to keep the photo. V's Paradise is undeniably beautiful, but beautiful decor can only take you so far. Between the disappointing food, overcooked entrées, flies at our table, and awkward interactions throughout the evening, this was one of my biggest dining disappointments in recent memory. I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, it missed the mark.

The dining room is elegant and intimate without feeling stuffy, creating the perfect balance of fine dining and relaxed Tahoe hospitality. We enjoyed the four-course prix fixe menu with the wine pairing, and every course was excellent. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, the flavors were thoughtful and unique, and each dish felt like something special without being overdone. The wine pairings were fantastic and added to the experience throughout the meal. A special thank you to owners and chefs John and Nyna Weatherson. Their passion for what they do comes through in every aspect of the restaurant. Just as impressive as the food was the service--warm, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely focused on making guests feel cared for. The entire team helped make our anniversary memorable, and we left already talking about our next visit. If you're looking for a special dinner in Truckee, Trokay is the real deal. Outstanding food, exceptional hospitality, a beautiful atmosphere, and an experience that's worth every bit of the drive, time, and anticipation. Highly recommend. We'll definitely be back.
