Overall a great breakfast experience - good service and solid food. Better than iHop or Denny's in my opinion just due to the service. Service: The service is probably what shined through the most for us in this meal. We came on a windy day and one of the people working there helped open the door for our party and welcomed us inside warmly. We were seated promptly and the service was friendly and fast. Really seemed like the staff here cared, unlike some other places. We also noticed there were a lot of people on staff and they all seemed to be experienced and knew what they were doing, which is rare nowadays. Food: Food was solid and I liked the portion sizes. They were a bit larger than I think I usually get at Denny's or iHop. Would become my new go-to breakfast place if I lived in the area. I liked the chicken and waffles quite a bit, though the chicken batter was a bit hard/dry. The portion size and taste made up for it though. Ambiance: It's certainly a dated location and probably in need of some maintenance. My party made it a sort of game to pass the time waiting to spot all the little things that could use some fixing around the building. But that didn't take away from the warm and inviting atmosphere. We still liked the cozy atmosphere quite a bit and I'd take this place over other places with worse service any day.

Irritated... This place has always been one of my favorites for years... I have been coming here since they opened. I want to note I have never been disappointed until today. I ordered "the country" substitute ham for sausage... The description is "cheese toast with sausage on cheese toast with scrambled eggs and gravy... What I revived was a childs portion of hash browns and what looked like a childs cheese omelet on top of DRY Texas toast, with lunch meat ham on top.. Like they had a rejected kids plate and tried to pass it off... Literally did not eat a bite... This is after I moved the ham around... Pathetic hash browns....

    That breakfast was amazing!

I've driven past this place so many times on my travels up and down sunrise Boulevard, I decided to finally stop in. Boy, I'm glad I did. The place is fresh and bright inside. my server was Jennifer, and she was very friendly and extremely helpful. I was interested in the hot links and eggs on the menu, and I asked her how spicy the hot links were. She said they had a good amount of heat. Pretty spicy. Instead, she suggested I try the linguica and eggs. I decided to go for it. I asked for fruit instead of potatoes, and since this is the name of the place, a half of a waffle instead of toast. The food came quickly, and it was amazing! When I first looked at the linguica, they looked like hotdogs. I wasn't expecting too much, but when I bit into them, boy, was I wrong! They were delicious! They had a good flavor to them, and they just had the tiniest bit of spice that I noticed. I imagine they tasted like the hot link would taste like, only without the extra spice. They were amazing! The breakfast came with three eggs, which were delicious, and I got a very nice bowl of assorted fresh fruit. The coffee was also excellent. The waffle was also off the hook! ! Large, fluffy, and it had a nice "malty" flavor. As is a bad habit of mine, I tore into the thing before I could get a picture of it. I need to break myself of that habit. I waddled away from the table, stuffed, but satisfied. The price was extremely reasonable as it was, and they also do a military/veterans discount. I will definitely be back. Thank you!

Came in today for a basic breakfast. Bacon and eggs. $17.25. Eggs have pushed the prices of breakfast up quite a bit. The bacon was good, but thin. Perfectly cooked. The eggs were excellent. The potatoes were on point as per usual. The pancakes were a little lite.

Swedish crepe, scrambled eggs, bacon, and fruit (instead of potatoes). Absolutely delicious!

This has been a stressful week so far. On my day off, I decided to treat myself to breakfast. I had been to Country Waffles once, a few years ago. Nice, nothing special. Today, it was very special. I had no idea they had Swedish crepes! Everything was just the way I always hope it will be. The scrambled eggs weren't runny, the bacon wasn't greasy, and the crepe was SO delicious! Kristina, my server, was friendly and kept the coffee coming. I came in after the breakfast rush, and it was just the relaxing, unrushed time I needed. I think I may have to make this a monthly habit, even if my week isn't stressful.

Firstly, the food was absolutely delicious. The pancakes, french toast, and waffles were all fluffy, but the real star was the fruit on top of the french toast and pancakes. The bacon was thick cut and fairly crispy. The price of everything was extremely reasonable ($12 for the French toast, 2 eggs, and 2 pieces of bacon, etc.). The service was great, very friendly and helpful, and everything came out quickly and got, though none of our meals came out at the same time. We will be back :)

The wait staff treats everyone like a regular. Most of them had their Halloween costumes on and it made the atmosphere fun and inviting. Our waitress Michelle was so nice and had a wonderful attitude. I had the Cinnamon Roll French toast breakfast and my husband the Fruit Rolled Crepes breakfast. First off the French toast and crepes were delicious as well as the country potatoes. Eggs were just eggs, just fine but the sausage texture was off, kinda mushy so we passed on them. Other than that, our coffee stayed topped off and all the staff was very nice.

Excellent again. Service is good. They're always busy on the weekends but the wait has never been long to get seated.

Slow on a slow day is crazy. Cold food. Assuming they changed ownership sad what happens when they do that. Go to CH grill much better.

I absolutely enjoy having breakfast at Black Bear Diner. I normally go to the Arden location, but…read morethe Citrus Heights location is closest to me and I decided to check them out for the first time. I walked in and waited less than a minute to be seated. This location is actually way busier than the Arden location, which to me is a great sign. My waitress shows up shortly to take drink orders and to give a few mins to look over the menu. Since I only come here for breakfast I usually only order either the Big Grizz or the Big Bear's choice breakfast. This time I went with the Big Bear's choice. I went with 2 eggs sunny side with sliced avocado, 2 sweet cream pancakes and 2 pieces of bacon. The Citrus Heights location is definitely smaller than the Arden location. It's cozy and nice and quiet. The food is always amazing and I will probably come to this location more often.

We ordered coffee, two ice teas, a cup of ice, and a glass of milk with the meal. We also ordered biscuits and gravy, hash browns, toast, and cinnamon roll French toast. We received the cinnamon roll French toast accurately. We ended up with two orders of biscuits and gravy and no hash browns. Waiter picked up the biscuits and gravy, brought us hash browns, and another order of toast. The milk never came to the table. Waiter was nice, but not accurate.

I was in the neighborhood so I decided to try this place again. The place is still very bright and clean, and the menu hasn't changed. A wide selection of a lot of different things. Primarily, crêpes and burgers. (of course) I decided to go with the Greek crepe. Cheddar, onions, feta, mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach, and black olives. For my side, I chose the salad. Just as good as before. First of all, the salad, the greens were very fresh, and the vinaigrette had a nice tang to it. It was not overdressed as some people do on salads. The crêpe itself, it was tender, and it was large. They were very generous with the fillings, and everything played well with each other. I was kind of curious about mixing feta and cheddar, but it was amazingly good. The saltines of the feta was a wonderful contrast to the creaminess of the cheddar cheese. Both cheeses went well with the entire crêpe. I was going to try one of the dessert crêpes, but after this thing, I was full. Next time I will come in specifically for a dessert crêpe. Thanks again for another great meal
