We had a reservation at 6:00. They gave our reservation to another couple. When we approached them about it, they admitted they messed up and said "let me buy you a drink" for our mistake. When seated I asked for a Michelob light, they brought me a Bud light and when I talked to the waiter he smirked at me took the wrong beer back and brought me a warm beer. We waited a long time for the waiter to comeback to see what we wanted to order. We ordered an appetizers and then waited forever for the waiter to take our order. We ordered our second drink and told the waiter about the free drink we were offered. We talked to the greeter which came to our table and said we lied, she said she would buy us a drink if she was old enough, she was not the greeter that seated us. We had to make a reservation 30 minutes earlier than we wanted because they said they were going to be packed. We were there at our requested time and beyond and the place was 60% empty. The waiter was slow and disappeared for 10 minutes at a time. We had to almost beg for drink refills. I ordered Chinese noodles with three kinds of fish. I assumed the fish would be cooked. If you are hungry for Chinese food you need to head to Omei Bistro in Naples It is by far the best Chinese restaurant in our area. Really only 35 minute or so drive but oh so good. We eat there often but last night was really exceptional. We had their Peking Duck which was as good as we have had in the US. If you venture there you will need a RESERVATION and a little patience. Service is slow due to lack of help but food is excellent. We have yet to have a disappointing item for dinner. It is white table cloths and expensive but we feel worth the trip and time. I hadn't hurried to try this restaurant because of the 3 star average. However we were looking for Peking duck and gave them a try. Tonight was their last night before closing for a summer break and they were packed. There was only one chef in the kitchen and it looked like 3-4 staff on the floor and running food. Our server was fantastic and told us what the situation was so we could be patient. She stayed on top of our drinks and got the food out as soon as it was ready. We had Peking duck (ordered when I made the reservation), two kinds of dumplings, egg drop soup, vegetable spring rolls, Mongolian beef and seafood fried rice. O'Mei brings more than an ounce of class to Chinese cuisine. It caters to the area and demographic with their menu offerings and ambiance. What seems to be a cursed location with previous restaurants that have come and gone, I have high hopes that this place because they might have just gotten it right. I was there for another business luncheon, and it added a lovely sense of zen for intimate conversation. It was exactly what we needed as we were discussing work. The restaurant was tastefully designed with pops of red and neutral colors, white comfy leather seats and the classy white linens. It was also nice to see the restaurant stay to the tradition of round tables which is commonly seen in Chinese restaurants to enhance the "family style" dishes and better conversation. The service was great. We had a few special requests and everything was accommodated without question or confusion. Timing was also right, and timing is something we take for granted until it affects us negatively. Therefore, I have to bring this to light for a job well done. I ordered the Singapore noodles, with a lovely taste of light curry, shrimp and chicken with rice noodles. They were perfectly done and just what I expected. My co-workers were also pleased with their dishes - chicken and broccoli with a special request for the white sauce to be on the side. The broccoli was a perfect texture, cooked but held its own. Another person had the roasted duck appetizer, and that is one of the featured items of O'Mei. It was a lovely fair share of crispy duck, pancakes, scallions and sweet molasses-type sauce. What a wonderfully pleasant meal! There's nothing like being satisfied and happy with your meal to set the rest of your work afternoon! They truly elevated Chinese food with maintaining the sensory familiarity of smell and taste. Sadly or not so sadly, I think this place might steal some of the customers that would make the trek up north on 41 to another location, when they find out it's right in the central hub of North Naples. Saturday 4:30pm Very disappointing to go order. I live close by and would love this place to be good. I've given them multiple opportunities but they are inconsistent and screw up easy stuff. This place isn't inexpensive and the food just falls short. I love their Filet and Broccoli ($18) when done right but tonight and not for the first time it was bad. It's made by dredging filet cubes in flour and stir frying them with mushrooms to make a thicken sauce. What they have done now for the third and last time for me is dipped precooked filet in flour and quickly stir fried resulting in very watery sauce (see pic) and beef that's covered in RAW flour. Pretty gross. Broccoli was raw, also. They have forgotten to include rice, mushu pancakes and sauce in previous orders. Most of their dishes are bland even when it says spicy on the menu. I complained that my spicy beef wasn't and the manager told me its spiced with black pepper. Setting aside the fact that black pepper isn't spicy, the dish wasn't seasoned at all. So disappointed with our experience at O' mei this evening!! My husband and i took friends after raving about this place as we have eaten their so often! Actually had been my go to place to eat. The problem was not our waiiter a nice young black fellow but the kitchen was the problem!! We ordered appetizers and two of us got them while we waited at least an half hour for the other appetizers. Then another table of four came in way after us and got their meals and left while we were still waiting for our dinners. 2 and 1/2 hours later we were just getting our bills. I felt so bad for our waiter! We really miss Chris and hope he comes back to work! Our friends said they will not eat here again! Omei is a strange place. It is a series of contradictions. They closed at their current location and then reopened after a period of time. This is a restaurant. They do not seem to be oriented for take out as they don't answer the phone. The ambience is unusual in my experience as it is a very nice setting with comfortable chairs and tasteful furnishings. The food is quite good and the portions sizable. No skimping on the protein in the dishes we had. It seems to be the ratio of meat to vegetables often declines during inflationary times. Not so here. The service by our server, Debbie, was first rate on what she could control. Unfortunately the chef was overwhelmed and we waited a long time from appetizer to entree. Go for the tasty food and the ambience, but be patient. read more

Decent Chinese food. The Peking duck was nice but you could spread that plum sauce on the floor of the last Saturday night LIRR train to Long Island and I would eat it. (Maybe that is slightly hyperbolic, I probably wouldn't do that because I don't want the plague, but you get it) I thought the dumplings were above average, didn't care for the fried rice. If you've looked for Chinese food in SW Florida you probably ended up in a filthy takeout place where the owners yelled at you and the food tasted like crap. This is not the case with Omei. This gem of a restaurant (and I mean restaurant) is really good. The decor is nice with plenty of seating choices. Chefs prepare your food in an open style kitchen and is served hot and tasty. The menu is limited but there is something for everyone to enjoy. They don't have spare ribs and egg rolls and the typical Chow Mein and Egg Foo Young but that should not discourage you because the other dishes offered are quite good. Since the food is made to order it does take some time to arrive at your table but don't take it out on the server, they are very accommodating! We had: Soup Dumplings, Singapore Noodles minus curry, Mongolian Beef and Moo Shu Pork. Everything was great. Make sure to make reservations in season. read more

After an hour wait we were told that our entrees were pushed to the end of all orders because we ordered a lettuce wrap appetizer. We asked to speak with owner, she refused to visit our table. We went to the resturant on 6.12.2022 about 4:45 right after they opened. My husband ordered chicken broccoli stir fry and I ordered Kung Pao chicken. We did not order any extras because it was so expensive!! The chicken was not cooked enough and the sauce on my Kung Pao was edible but not at all good. There was not another person in the restaurant. When the waiter asked my husband if he wanted a box, he said no that the chicken was not good. The waiter rudely said he checked on us an everything was ok. That was after one bite. Not good customer service. We had been there several times before the restaurant moved. They never answered their phone and then when my husband drove over, refused to serve him, saying they didn't accept takeout orders until 7:45, even though the restaurant was empty and they also stated they were closing at 8. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I have not written a review before, but the waitress was so awful and the owner was one of the rudest people I've met so I felt the need. I will start by saying I do enjoy the food, although it is hit and miss. The waitress I had tonight for the third time is very strange, rude, and slow. Took an hour to get our meals. When I ordered my hot sake the waitress said "you won't like it" and walked away; it was decent. The lettuce wraps came with too few pieces of lettuce, so we asked for some more and our waitress said sure. When we got the bill, the 4 pieces of lettuce cost $4.50. My gf has IBS and cannot eat onions or garlic her meal had onions even though the waitress assured her it would be okay to get it without, she picked around them. When we told the waitress there were onions she said "just so you know, that's bok choy." It wasn't. The meal was honestly good though. My Mu Shu Pork had too few pancakes (flour tortillas). To get more it cost $5, I declined. At least I was told beforehand I suppose. We explained how we were upset about the extra charges to the waitress, she told us if she were in charge of would be free for extra lettuce but told us the owner would not change her mind. We asked for her anyway. After 10 minutes we asked where she was and the waitress said she didn't want to come out because she was talking with her daughter (who was very young, maybe 6 or 7, and walking around the kitchen with her fingers in her mouth). After saying we won't leave until she comes out, she finally came out. She walked up and said "hello?" and very nicely we explained we enjoy our food every time we come here, but the service is extremely slow, and the food was extra salty tonight, and my Dad, who was upset, said he thought it was very cheap to charge $4.50 for a few pieces of lettuce and $5 for a couple flour tortillas and he won't come back again, MID SENTENCE the owner says "okay thank you" and walks away. Extremely rude, terrible business, and I with an attitude like that you shouldn't be in business. MIND YOU, their other location just closed down and have I believe a 77 health rating, a C. The guy behind the bar and the young blondish waitress are both very nice, though. TL;DR Waitress is extremely strange, took over an hour (not unusual there), messed up order, they overcharge for little things and don't tell you their extra, and the owner basically told us we can go f**k ourselves. read more

Our waitress brought our food and then disappeared behind the bar totally forgetting that she had tables to finish. Although our server tried very hard to be attentive, it was overkill at first and then non-existent. The food was ok. Nothing to brag about but not bad. The chief and I were very happy to see this place reopened in its old location again. So we tried it for dinner last night. The food was good but service was awful. WE had a reservation, and when we arrived there was no reception people. There was a couple in front of us, and two behind all waiting for someone to acknowledge us. Finally a waiter said I'll be right with you, and then proceeded to take an order and disappear into the kitchen. Then a young woman came out, seated the couple in front of us, and didn't acknowledge the rest of us. I finally raised my arms and shrugged like what about us. Then she came over and sat us outside. Their website says they have beer and wine, but they do not. Folks were brining wine and beer. We had water. A waiter finally came over, gave us water and said he would be back to take our order. I had the duck spring rolls and the chief had the wonton soup. Both were very good. Then we ordered our main courses. I am deathly allergic to shrimp which I told our waiter. I asked if they could prepareor pan fried noodles which had chicken, scallops and shrimp without the shrimp. He said sure no problem. We waited an hour. In the interim a party of four came in that knew our waiter, and they all got their main courses before us. We were ready to leave when our mains came out and of course mine had shrimp in it. I called him over and he said oh I told them no shrimp but of course he didn't check before hand. He took the plate away without asking if I wanted anything else. The chief was halfway through when he finally brought me the dish without shrimp. No apology or anything. There was clearly NO management around. We sat waiting, thinking our food was being prepared. 30 min. later the waiter said one of the entrees wasn't available. That person switched to another entrée. No manager came, but the bartender came out and told us that if we didn't quit creating a fuss, she would ask us to leave. Then the waiter said he forgot to turn 2 of the orders in. HOW COULD YOU TURN IN 6 ORDERS FOR A TABLE OF 8 AND NOT THE OTHER 2? Then the bartender came back and said we were creating a problem so we would have to leave...OH, but by the way, you have to pay for everything on your way out. There was never a FUSS made - we just asked why we never got 2 of the entrees we ordered, where was the food and could we speak with the manager. Seems like the place is in financial trouble and doesn't have the menu items in inventory. AND I SHOULD MENTION ONLY 25% OF THE TABLES WERE FILLED. No wonder it wasn't busy. WORSE YET, 4 of us [women] went out to the car and were accosted by 2 LARGE women who claimed they were "locals" and "regulars" and didn't appreciate us coming in to the place like "snowbirds". [3 of our 4 couples are FL residents] One of them punched my friend and threatened her. We got in the car and locked the doors while our husbands were trying to deal with the owner who still wanted to be paid for food that we didn't get. MY ADVICE - STAY AWAY FROM THE PLACE. This place is a typical Chinese restaurant with good food. Not sure what everyone else was expecting when they first walked in, but my party of 6 had no complaints. The food took a little long but I like talking with the people I came with so no big deal. We even went with two people who have lived in Hong Kong for 10 years. We had a big table, good conversation and a few dishes that were really good: drunken fish, black prawns, Kung pow chicken, o'mei pan fried noodles. Having grown up on Chinese food in NYC it has become clear that SW Florida just doesn't have comparable restaurants. That said Omei has good food. Tablecloths and nice decor are a plus and are there at Omei, but, frankly, not necessary in a Chinese restaurant. The menu is somewhat limited (no egg drop soup for my wife) but there were sufficient choices to keep us happy. Even with a reservation, there was no one to greet you, and the line of disappointed diners gathered at the door. Soon, many left to seek out dinner elsewhere. Do not order the Peking duck. Totally fake in our view. No taste. We got it served in big fatty slices, undercooked and without taste with overly sweetened plum sauce and without the legs and wings even though it was supposed to be a whole duck. Also had a noodle dish that was greasy as heck and overcooked. Service was mediocre. We went with high expectations looking forward to weekly visits as we were new to the Naples area. My GF and I had lunch here. We are off the lunch menu where entrees were $10 with soup. I had the shrimp dish of the lunch menu. Shrimp were perfect. Delish!!! Big key west pinks that were cooked just beautifully, tender not overcooked like everywhere else here. My sassy and always picky GF had beef broccoli. Beef was also outstanding. Flank or tri-tip I believe. Very tender, perfectly cooked w a nice sauce. Both had wonton soup also outstanding. Service was attentive and unassuming. Also nice. I don't know what the beef is with others but here's my take. First, this place is a winner. Excellent food quality, "high end". Yes it is a bit more expensive than many Chinese places but look at your plate. The ingredients are top notch! You get seething better for the extra $3 for lunch. It's worth it. I will be back again soon for dinner. Can't wait to try the parking duck and the many other dishes on fairly large menu of options. Oh yeah and as for the atmosphere, the place has class. Nice, white table cloth, open kitchen,good bar area, and a very surprising outdoor patio area over looking a nice courtyard. Yes alfresco high end Chinese. Date might here I come !!!
