In town for work and didnt really feel like eating so I came here as I looked around for somewhere for over an hour. I actually liked it and the food was really good except for the eggroll, madd chewy. Had the chicken and broccoli combo with rice and wonton. I walked in and there was 3 old guys at the bar and 2 old couples eating, thats it. The place is pretty smelly and has a full bar. The service was really good but I dont know if cause I was literally the only person in there after 5 mins after sitting down. read more

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in, and I saw the restaurant in the long bar. It was really somewhat inviting until I took a breath! There is a very unpleasant smell. It smells like a faulty, grease trap, or a floor drain that has dried up and allowing methane fumes into the restaurant. I did not want to be rude. Turn around a walk out, so I did sit down and surprisingly the smell began to diminish, or I was getting used to it. The sweet-and-sour soup is pretty good other than they have large chunks of tofu in it. I didn't much care for that so I picked through it. There was hardly anybody in the restaurant I believe two other tables and it took a few minutes to get waited on, but that's OK. The tea was good and hot. The soup was hot. I ordered Kung pow chicken . Typically compound chicken to me has a nice spice and a bite to it. This did not have much of either. The chicken was very different also. It was more of a larger chunk than once again that I'm used to the smaller bite-size crunchy with a Different texture. Not sure if I will come back I would be hesitant to do so. I would highly recommend that they figure out where this very obnoxious smell is originating from. If you are looking for a mixed drink to sit at a long bar and relax, that may not be a bad place. I'm sure after a couple of drinks the smell would diminish. Staff was nice, kinda slow on the feet and lacking some smiles. read more

Decided to go out for Chinese food on Christmas evening. Went to Golden leaf around 6;45 and there was a one hour wait. They also had a Christmas menu that had fewer items with higher prices. I had read about the new owners of Szechuan restaurant. I called and was told there was no wait. So we jumped in my car and drove over. We were all happy we did. Having moved to Naples 3 years ago from NYC I found that the Chinese food here was subpar. Well this place changed my mind. Delicious food and friendly service. They put the sweet and sour chicken in the to go container and then put sauce on top not in a separate container. By the time we got home 10 minutes or less the chicken was super soggy. They need to use the old school takeout containers not styrofoam. read more

Good Chinese restaurant in East Naples. Take out only right now, no servers. They do have tables inside, just no servers. They do provide real plates and silverware. Very friendly staff. Clean. We have been looking for a good, clean, sit down Chinese restaurants to go in the area (Marco/Naples). Since the reviews were average, we didn't expect much. When we walked in, the place looked nice. A young friendly girl greeted us. She took our orders and our food were delivered quickly. I am a big eater and they gave us good portions of food. All the dishes tasted very good and the prices were reasonable. Compared to all the other Chinese sit down restaurants, this is our favorite place from now on. For Naples this was great! Orange Chicken was awesome with whole pieces of white meat chicken. My kids loved the chicken teriyaki with vegetables and egg rolls. I thought the vegetable friend rice was great the steak and broccoli was a little over cooked. But hey everything else was a hit. I didn't feel bloated nor too thirsty after which means it went too salty. Definitely recommend have tried many in the area. Think this is a place that is great. read more

The eggroll was GOD AWFUL, the absolute worst ive ever had, it tasted funky, just cant explain it but i had to spit it out...and i never spit out food, i muscle through it. Next, the beef fried rice...the meat was absolutely flavorless, seriously bland!!! The only thing that was edible was the General Tso chicken (obviously Tyson frozen fingers), the sauce is the only thing that saved the dish. Im truly sorry if it sounds like im bashing but it was not a pleasant experience. The staff was friendly but the food is unacceptable. Save yourself the trouble and find another place. read more

Woah! I don't know what happened to this restaurant over the years, but it's a real shame. I mistakenly ordered a sweet & sour chicken combination plate, thinking the sauce would come in a small container on the side, and it was inedible. The chicken was soggy and saturated in a sauce that was unrecognizable as sweet and sour. All I can think is they must have run out of the actual sweet and sour sauce and substituted it with some kind of slimy watered down ketchup, in place of the real thing. Another meal that was ordered along with this one was shrimp in lobster sauce. There were 6 teeny tiny shrimp in what they tried to pass off as lobster sauce, but was actually shrimp in egg drop soup-sauce? Seriously, why? If you can't make it properly with the lobster sauce, then remove it from the menu! There was another meal that my husband ate which was sesame chicken, and he said it wasn't great but it was better than what my daughter and I ordered, along with crab rangoon, and yes, you can pretty much figure out by now that the crab rangoon was ALSO a waste of money. $71 later and were extremely disappointed. You can get better Chinese/Szechuan food from the frozen section at your local Aldi. Actually, the sweet and sour chicken that they sell is pretty decent, the sauce is at least not made from watered down ketchup. Skip Szechuan! My family has ordered from here off and on for about 20 years. When they were located across from Walmart, next to the old Albertsons, they were AWESOME! Who ever owns it now, needs to reevaluate. There are plenty of reviews about this restaurant that prove how terrible it is, I should have looked at them prior to ordering. The owner really needs to read them and fix the issues if they want returning customers. They have a lot to live up to compared to almost 20 years ago and it's like they're not even trying. General Tso's chicken is described as crispy golden fried white meat with bell peppers, snow peas& pepper corn in Chef's General Tso' sauce. All we got was a plastic container of chicken. NO veggies. I called the restaurant & was told that description is for the dine in menu. Bull!! Like I said the menu reads Szechuan Chinese Restaurant/ Take out menu. At one point this was my favorite restaurant. I've been out of state, but upon my return I wanted to eat "what was the best Chinese restaurant." I ordered take out and when I got home the food was ineatable. I called the restaurant to let them know and insisted I return the food and get a refund. The manager argued with me and said "there's something wrong with my taste buds." All in all, the wontons in the soup were gummy and not filled with meat, the soups (wonton & eggdrop) were bland (even after adding soy sauce and salt).
