We dined at PJK this evening. As a family with some severe allergies, we have to advocate for ourselves at every dining establishment. We know this, and are therefore VERY careful about what we consume. We also tell our server up front as well. So, as soon as we sat down to eat, I began explaining to the server that we have some odd allergies. I cannot eat anything with turmeric, shellfish or tree nuts. My daughter has a tree nut allergy. Our server was very attentive and wrote down all my allergies to confirm with the chef. He came back and told me almost every dish has oyster sauce, so my only option was sweet and sour chicken and plain, steamed white rice. I understand that when going to an Asian restaurant that I often have few options. I'm not complaining about not having more than one option though I hope in the future they figure out how to make some dishes without oyster sauce. I'm also aware that many dishes have tree nuts, and so no complaints that I only had the one option. Our meals came out, and I began to eat my sweet and sour chicken. I noticed immediately that it was a weird texture. And then the flavor hit--it was shrimp. I began to spit it out of my mouth and immediately grabbed Benadryl. Thankfully up to this point with my allergies, I've not had to use an epi pen. The Benadryl has worked, BUT....if you have allergies, you know that each additional exposure adds to your body's histamine response. I always start with Benadryl and then have epi pens on hand as well. We brought the issue to the attention of the server. He was very apologetic and brought me a new plate of what I actually ordered. The server then didn't come back to our table until we were almost finished. There wasn't a manager or a chef that came to check on me. My father in law had to ask for the meal to be taken off the bill. Then they brought out two orders of donut holes as a consolation. As he set them down, he said, "These are not for either of you, they have nuts." So all of this to say that this restaurant is NOT allergy friendly. The ambiance was fine--clean and nice decor. There are a lot of people with allergies. If you are running a restaurant, expect to have questions about different food ingredients, and by all means, pay attention to what you're cooking and sending out to the dining room. I'm just thankful the Benadryl seems to have worked, but it could have ended very differently. We will not be back. read more

I have reviewed PJK before but they deserve to get more attention. They have an early dining special for summer right now that is unbelievable in price, portion and quality. Excellent service, friendly staff and super clean. Unbelievably they still start you off with their house made herbal tea and finish your meal with complimentary warm Mochi donuts. As far as Asian upscale restaurants go in Naples this is one of THE BEST. read more

They present a delightful variety of menu options to select from coconut shrimp appetizers to General Tso's Chicken. Our server Aiden was just amazing and so attentive. My son and I decided to try several different items, including the Mongolian beef (our favorite), the General Tao's chicken (which we didn't enjoy purely based on our personal preference) and the Sweet and Sour Chicken (which was very good although the pieces are very small). I saw this place opened a few months back but I don't come to the area often. I was on that side of town so suggested it to a friend who was down to give PJK a go! When you walk in there's a host stand and cute neon light. The restaurant is smaller than it looks from outside but it was decorated nicely and had plenty of space! Once we were seated they offered a samples of the tea they made that day. It was cute and purple. Tasted simple and citrusy. I ordered soup dumplings to start and they were pretty decent. Not the best I've had but still good. I also got general Taos chicken as my main and it was good! The chicken had a nice crisp to it and it came with a small side of white rice. There was an up charge for fried rice. At the end they brought us a small complimentary portion of mochi donuts which was a perfect end to the night! read more

Four star for Food which was exceptional, had the sea-bass - ensure to ask them not to overcook it. The Sea-bass came with classic fried rice and was delicious. Veggie Lo Mein really delicious. The pork dumplings was fabulous. Marco was our sever he was not really not to attentive had to ask for items and even water. Ambiance was very nice a really orient setting. my wife and I are here in town for her bday. So her favorite food is Chinese. So in Naples on 4th is PJK. They saw me coming and I'm usually smarter! 115$ and the food was terrible. I would have been better to go to Panda expres. Then on my receipt I asked for chicken and broccol. And they charged me for beef and broccol. NEVER AGAIN!!! I enjoyed this restaurant quite a bit. From the short braised rib bao buns to the duck dumplings--it was fantastic my mouth was exploding with flavor! The Zen Inferno is a must try drink too! I really enjoyed PJK-- the ambiance, food, and service were excellent and I can't wait to go back. Some of the earlier reviews of PJK discuss poor service and food, but I think the kinks have been worked out and the restaurant is running smoothly. We ordered the dumpling soup which I would recommend as a must-try item. The broth was flavorful and rich with small dumplings. We split it between 4 people in small bowls. Next up was the pepper steak. We really enjoyed this dish because it was full of peppers and onions along with the beef. The Dan Dan noodles are my new obsession! They have all of the salt-fat-acid-heat flavors you look for in a Chinese noodle dish. We also got the fried rice with shrimp which was tasty, but nothing to write home about. Lastly, PJK makes excellent cocktails. Everything from the cocktail list sounded delicious and the martinis we had were made appropriately. Check out PJK next time you're in naples. read more

We have been here a few times since they opened. Initially the food was absolutely delicious and felt of a high quality. We haven't been in several months and decided to go out tonight. They have a beautiful ambiance and bar which we love. I don't know what had happened but it's very different. The bao buns have changed not nearly as good as they used to be. Also smaller serving and plated already prepared without the same condiments. Served with pickles instead of radishes and pickles on a bao bun was not what I would order again. Very off taste as a result. We also order pad Thai and we barely got any chicken which looked like precooked processed restaurant supply store chicken not even a whole breast worth. The noodles were under cooked and the dish lacked flavor. Tons of carrots I guess to make up for not much chicken and the carrots weren't even cooked. Hot chili paste made it edible. The appetizer of chili wonton was ok. The noodle casing was hard so I'm guessing processed and purchased at the local restaurant supply store that we could all buy at the local supermarket. Cocktails were ok. Service was ok. It's a corporate owned restaurant and it shows. We haven't no reason to return. All in all a disappointing evening for $150 dollars. On an additional note we then walked downtown 5th. all of downtown is bought up by Hoffman. Olde Naples is gone. It's all sterile and a literally no energy. A soulless place. One corporate restaurant and building after another. Downtown is ruined and the county let this happen. They created Hoffman not Naples. read more

Our waiter was very nice. Something was going on in the kitchen we did not receive our food for and hour and 15 min after being seated. Our appetizers came we finished them and had to wait for the entrees. We had to ask both times when the food was coming. The manager came over and offered nothing. My husband actually left but the rest of us stayed we were so hungry. We never got angry. We even said to the waiter we understand... but honestly for the prices they charge I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Super annoying experience. read more

We finally picked up order and brought it home. One item of order was missing completely and one order was half filled. For our trouble they offered us a free egg roll on next order. Everything about this restaurant was great! The drinks, the food, the atmosphere and the service. We went during the Chineese New Year celebration but did not order the special menu. We started with drinks 3 of us had beer and 1 had the butterfly effect cocktail. Our appetizers were the Grouper cheek buns (absolutely great(, dumplings, shumai and one of the house special appetizers that our waiter Marco surprised us with. Our main dishes were Mongolian beef, General's Chicken, Salt and Pepper shrimp and the house fried rice. All of the dishes were very tasty and none were swimming in a sauce. The breading on the Grouper and General's Chicken was very light. Great restaurant, great experience. Well worth going to. read more

6 people for dinner. Hostess was very cute but as cold as they come. Not welcoming whatsoever. Our waiter was from the Eastern Bloc & he too had a miserable attitude. If these people do not like the work they are doing in the US, they should go back to their home country & spread their misery there. Now to the food. The food was good not great but it was luke warm. We were there on a Tuesday night so it was not even 50% full. How the dinners could come out luke warm is beyond me. We may go back but I doubt it. We were there last night with two friends for the first time. I'll post first what I liked. The ambiance was nice. You can hear each talk. That's good. And the place was packed by 7:00. Our server was Marta, she was great. She welcomed us with a small cup of Jasmine tea, cold. Did not like it so we ordered a lot of Green Tea. Wished it was hotter. BTW, we were there from 6:30-8:45. The restaurant emptied out mostly before then. We paid our bill earlier but comfortable to stay and still talk. Had a lot so I could try a lot. The entrees I liked a lot: Mongolian Beef was very good. Sweet, but we like sweet. Not paper thin pieces like other places but needed that asparagus as a vegetable with that. My General TSO's Chicken was very good! What I liked especially as that it was not deep fried with small pieces of chicken as in other restaurants. It was lightly sautéed, great white meat pieces of chicken but spicy!! (but I like spicy) you can ask for less spice I'm sure. Don't eat those green peppers along with that dish. I'm sure those were very spicy. ‍ The appetizers I liked: Three Grouper Cheek Bao buns that were also very good!! The Shrimp Potstickers were very good. The Vegetable lo mein with added Chicken was good. What I wasn't crazy about: The Scallion pancakes with caviar. Have eaten the pancakes my whole life. These were tiny non descriptive pieces to me not worth at any price. Disappointed. The Chicken Lettuce wraps had taste but just ok. Minuscule pieces in a bowl, not worth the price. The Veggie Spring Rolls were just ok. Needed Three more pieces. Missing pictures of Chicken lo mein and Shrimp Potstickers I'm looking forward to another visit with other appetizers and entrees. This is going to be a regular place for me. Enough here to like! Hooked on that General Tso's chicken. Don't believe a lot of the less favorable reviews. Urge you to try this place. A lot to like. We tried PJK Chinese restaurant, and fell in love! I have been searching for a Chinese style restaurant in Naples that was more on the trendy, higher end side with delicious classic dishes, and this place absolutely nailed it! The ambience is so cozy and welcoming, but yet still trendy, and really authentically on brand. They have a huge bar area, some outdoor seating and a dining room that transitions into a smaller back dining room. Not a bad seat in the house. We ordered the pork dumplings and chicken dumpling soup to start. Both were delicious although the soup needed a bit of salt. For our entrées, we ordered the Kung pow chicken and the chicken lo mein both were fantastic! We did ask for extra sauce for both dishes, which I think really elevated both of them. I do wish there was an option to upgrade to fried rice, but the white rice does come with each meal. They are also serving up a delicious cocktail menu. I ordered a Cosmo and my boyfriend ordered the rose colored glasses. Both were delicious, but I was jealous of the glitter in his drink so the bartender was awesome and put some glitter in mine as well! Overall, we had a really great experience, and with all of the awesome items on the menu, and I made a promise to myself to try a new dish each time I go! I have high hopes for this place. It's like The Little Engine that Could. Space is large and in a great location. it would be nice to have a more upscale Chinese / Asian fusion restaurant in the area. Service was friendly from both the hostess and the server. Server steered us toward the Grouper Cheek appetizer, which was tasty and a good size for sharing. Companion and I fought over the last one. But some of the other choices fell short. White wine served warm and had to throw in ice cubes. Beef with broccoli was pretty sweet. DanDan Noodles were okay, but we're not somen or ramen noodles. It was a nice touch for them to give us a few mochi donuts at the end. All in all, I would definitely go back for a drink and appetizers, but would have to think on it to stay for a full dinner again. read more

Oh WOW! This place was fantastic. The atmosphere is very laid back and the service is good. The real winner here is the food. The only thing I didn't like was the tea shots they give. It was cold and tasted only like apple cider vinegar. We got the veggie dumplings and those were absolutely delicious. We also got sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, and the orange beef. Each I would get again. The best dish was the dan-dan noodles. It's the perfect combo with the bean sprouts, noodles, and pork. It does have a kick to it. read more

Nice happy hour ("social hour" from 4 to 6pm) with $10 cocktails and $10 dim sum such as lobster rangoon and chicken dumplings. I had the Szechuan popcorn chicken, which was flavorful and enhanced by several dipping sauces. I look forward to coming back and ordering from the regular full menu. read more

We had a fabulous meal at the PJK that just opened last week in Coconut Point, Estero. The quality of the food, the service, the presentation and the ambiance of the restaurant was excellent. We will definately return. We had lunch here. They serve a specialty water/cold tea upon arrival and then offer you complimentary bite size puff pastry with powerdered sugar and chocolate for dessert. The fried rice is unlike any I have ever had, with tons of flavor and the dumpling soup was large enough for two to share. So glad we finally have a great Asian/Chinese option in the area. Strike two. That's the count on PJK Neighborhood Chinese. The restaurant's inaugural menu, an ill-advised jumble of dishes that weren't really Chinese, was a swing and a miss. Management recently replaced it with a slate of offerings that are much more traditional in spirit and appearance, but not in execution. Sadly, the new menu is another whiff. Wildly unnecessary caution seems to be the kitchen's guiding principle. On a recent dinner visit each item was under-seasoned to the point of blandness, as if the chef and management have decided that their clientele isn't capable of appreciating well-prepared Chinese food. (Speaking of preparation, the chili pork wontons were so undercooked that the filling was barely warm and the wonton wrappers were still raw.) The entire meal could have come from a Chinese-American cookbook circa 1960. One irritant in particular is worth mentioning: PJK's novel approach to upselling. Entrees are accompanied by a tiny portion of white rice served in a miniscule teacup. Further down the menu the night we were there were rice offerings with sticker prices of $20 and up, which our server said were available in half-sizes for half the price. Advice to the owners: stop it, already, and serve rice like a proper Chinese place. Naples restaurant-goers have become resigned to being taken advantage of when it comes to wine; rice is pushing matters too far. On the plus side, the ingredients seemed to be very fresh, our server was professional and pleasant without being intrusive or familiar, and the room and décor are exceptionally well done. Prices? High for the real world, but about what you'd expect off 5th Avenue South. Unfortunately, Naples is still waiting for an authentic Chinese restaurant. Perhaps PJK's next swing at a menu will connect for a solid hit. read more

The food and ambiance are very good. But BEWARE --- the Happy Hour is a SCAM. A $10 happy hour "special" glass of wine ended up costing me $21. Ask lots of questions before ordering anything. Great food, good service, and ambiance but less than honest management. I won't return. read more

PJK is a beautiful, new, upscale Chinese restaurant on 4th street, just one block from 5th Avenue. We weren't able to get a reservation until late so decided to come earlier and try our luck at the bar which worked out. The bartender was busy with a full house but still managed to accommodate our drink and food order well. The wine and drink menu has a good variety to choose from and is more interesting than most restaurants in Naples. My partner had the Yuzu Margarita and I had the Albariño and both were good. For dinner we decided to spring for the Peking duck for two, which is one of our favorite Chinese dishes. While the duck itself was moist and tasty, the skin, which is one of the best parts, was disappointing. It is normally very crispy, but it was soft and rubbery. Also, Peking duck is usually served with thin pancakes to roll up the duck, scallions, cucumbers and hoisin in, but this was served with bao buns. The buns themselves were light and fluffy but just didn't seem to fit with the dish. The included side of dirty fried rice was tasty. Overall, for the price we were a bit disappointed in our meal. But we loved the atmosphere and there are so many interesting items on the menu that we will come back and try PJK again. read more

I had enjoyed coming here the few times we visited but the new menu or new chef is making me hesitate to return. Everything is deep fried. Where they had some of the best calamari that was very lightly breaded and truly delicious, it is now heavily breaded and destroyed. I have never had shrimp potstickers deep fried either but that's the only way they will do them here now. The chicken was heavily breaded and fried when before it was lightly dusted and cooked in a hot wok so it was still juicy and delicious but not any more. To top it off they give out a complimentary desert - guess what ? Deep fried donuts ! Not sure where their healthier options went to but the new menu is truly a heart attack waiting to happen ! read more

Always looking for new places to try, and this spot was such a delight. It had a flare like you weren't in Naples (and I mean that in a positive way)! The food was perfectly seasoned - each bite got better and better. Tessa, our server, was very attentive and pleasant! She explained the menu, which helped us narrow down our decision. We started off with the chili pork wontons and Asian corn dogs. Followed by the orange beef and beef lo mein.
