The food was pretty good but not exceptional. The staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. BUT one thing REALLY bugged me. While the place was nice looking and relatively clean, with only two people on staff (at least visible to us), nobody was clearing the used tables. Customers had long gone, but their dirty (used) dishes sat on the tables like they belonged there or as if clearing tables was the responsibility of the customers and nobody told the customers! I came to try O My ChiQ with a friend for dinner and we really enjoyed ourselves. We both got the bone in wings and I got the soy garlic with honey butter and I believe it had some paremesan on top along with shoestring fries. The one downside is that the fries do not come with the wings so it's a whole separate $10 for a large basket fries if you're not a waffle fry girlie. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the wings but the shoe string fries were plain fries nothing that special and I ended up throwing half of them away because there were just too many but definitely good to share with a group larger than 2. I also got the watermelon spicy margarita which was good. They have plenty of space for parking a nice backyard style picnic table set up which is really cute! The doors are open to the back though so we did have to swat away flys here and there but nothing too crazy. The staff was kind and diligent in checking on us which I appreciated. Has a lot of outdoor and indoor seating. They have a bit of an industrial feel. Menu on QR codes on the table. We ordered cocktails (unmatched, snow day), chicken sampler (which included wings, popcorn chicken, crispy rice cake, and fries), and galbi mandu/dumplings. My friends and I came during dinner time and it surprisingly was not busy. There is seating available indoor and outdoor. The indoor seating looked nice and clean, but there was a weird smell. It was similar to old cleaning supplies so it was off putting while eating. I got the chicken sampler which is very worth it. It includes popcorn chicken wings, a huge bed of fries, and fried rice cake. It was too much for me because it was a plate of everything fried, but it's great to share with people to try a bit of everything. Each aspect was pretty good, I would prefer other places korean fried chicken, but there was nothing bad about it. The woodfire chicken was phenomenal though. The chicken was juicy and soft. I would highly recommend the woodfire chicken over the fried chicken. Although the menu prices are a bit expensive, the portion size makes up for the value. The staff was nice, but I had to get up a lot in order to ask for something. They did not check up frequently and it was hard to get their attention. I have been to O My ChiQ so many times I would consider it my go to place when I'm done with an event or I just crave those thinly cut fries that they have. I personally get their Soy Garlic Wings but this time I'm talking about the Chicken Bowl. If you like fresh chicken with veggies and rice over spicy mayo, this is the protein packed bowl for you. For me this is what I enjoy eating most of the time. It's not too heavy and the chicken is also juicy. I'm sure they used one of their rotisserie chickens and got the meat from there. And the Julienne fries, they are worth every single cent. You can get this with seasoning but I personally think salt is the best choice. Perhaps I just enjoy salt a bit too much. It's crispy, crunchy, and doesn't feel like it's too much for your stomach since it's so thin. You could say I'm a regular. This is one of my favorite places to get Korean wings! I love the soy garlic sauce and the bits of crunchy garlic on the crispy wings. Also a big fan of fries with seasoning on it. There's a few to choose from. I tried their yogurt cheese seasoning on the tornado fries and it was amazing! So amazing that I ordered more fries (thin cut) with the same seasoning. They give you a pretty large portion of fries. The service is always very quick and there is ample seating that you will rarely have to wait for a table. They have a backyard outdoor section as well and I can't wait for it to get warmer so I can come back and eat outside. Will definitely be coming back for more chicken and fries! read more

We shared the Hickory Baby Backed ribs. They were really dry! I started with the end piece, but couldn't eat the whole rib. Sadly, I had to discard the bone with some dry meat still on it. I moved to a middle piece hoping it would be moister, but not much luck. I brought half the rack home and now I'm trying to figure out how to make it moist. We also had the gyoza appetizer. It had flavor but each piece was really small. Fortunately that was just the appetizer. On the other hand, service was friendly and efficient. I would expect so given that it was 5pm on a Monday. SOLID FOUR STARS! Wintry day in the DMV and I was craving wings and ribs. OMCQB was the perfect destination. Greeted as I entered the establishment and my stomach started to rumble because the smell was incredible! Smoked meat! Yes and thank you. Took about 10 minutes for my order to be ready, no biggie, I walked around and admired the decor, beautiful. Received my take-away order and headed home. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone delicious, SO enjoyed the mash potatoes and gravy, I added a few hard boiled eggs and finger red peppers to the macaroni salad, took it up a notch. I went in on a Sunday evening and the place was empty which surprised me, but I just wanted to-go to just to try their food. I ordered the regular half firewood chicken, and the steak and cheese egg rolls. I got home with the food and took a bite out the egg rolls. They were tasty and filled with meat and cheese. Now, on to the chicken which looked dry and it was dry. The flavor was just ok nothing to rave about. I thought maybe next time I might order one of the other items on their menu for a comeback. Came on a beautiful and sunny Monday. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately for us (but fortunately for them), they hadn't restocked their sold-out beers because they were so busy last weekend. But we found others and still managed to enjoy a couple of beers. We ordered the Galbi dumplings, takoyaki, tornadoes fries, and half rack of ribs. Dumplings were good, takoyaki was decadent with huge pieces of octopus. The tornado fries and ribs were dry. The next time we come, we will stick with our usual order of fried chicken and tteokbbokki. Definitely recommend this place, particularly the backyard. It seems this location has a hard time having a restaurant stay open. Passed by it a few times and decided to give it a try. I happened to come in when their gas got cut off so the menu was limited to wood fire only. Got the $18 take out special for a whole chicken. It was delicious, when they asked me if I wanted any spice, I said yes. Although it tasted more sweet like a korean version of barbecue. Made the chicken a little unhealthy for my liking but nonetheless it was still good. I'll definitely try this again to see what else they have. One thing I wish they added to their menu was allow you to only get dark or white meat for the chicken. I would happily pay extra for that read more

It was a huge portion, and the pulled chicken was well-seasoned. The Philly cheese steak egg rolls were okay. I had better from a carryout. The flavor needed to be improved. The soy garlic wings were crunchy. The garlic chips were a bit much, and I love garlic; it needs more soy taste to balance it out. I've continued to stop into O My ChiQ & Bar since they've opened, because I think they have some of the best Korean Fried Chicken around. But of course, that's just my opinion. I really like the breading, which isn't too heavy, and the cook on the meats is good and especially when it's just out of the fryer, the chicken is moist, succulent, and flavorful. And again, the fried garlic slices really add a nice flavor enhancement. What I don't like so much, and has been noted in other reviews, is the service is very uneven, and in particular, the pacing of the food delivery. I arrived on this past Sunday with 7 people (5 adults and 2 kids) around 2pm, and there were 4 other tables. It seemed like there was only one primary server who was running between the outdoor patio and the inside dining room. There was another person who was bussing tables, delivering drinks, and running food from the kitchen. From the time we ordered and the first dish arrived, there was a 30 min interval. So some of the adults were done with their entrees when the kids plain chicken tenders arrived. In fact, I had to (remind) ask the manager type fellow where my niece's order was since she was the last person to be served. Truth be told, they probably forgot about it. But they did acknowledge their error by giving the table a complimentary 10 piece order of wings. I dunno. I'll continue to pop in from time to time, but while food is obviously important to a restaurant's success, service levels are equally as if not, more so. I hope this place addresses these issues, otherwise, I have some serious concerns for the long term outlook for O My ChiQ & Bar. read more

The gyudon was good, may have been our favorite thing there which was surprising since they are known for their chicken, not beef. It has been awhile but we finally made ot back tonight and everything was so good. We way over-ordered though, we took a lot home. I just want to eat my way across this menu! I was DD so hubby had an SMS which is a single size midori sour esque drink, quite tasty. I would drink this for sure if I wasnt driving. For food we got the galbi dumplings, popcorn chicken sweet & spicy and a half rack of the spicy back wings. I am not kidding when I say the dumplings may be some of the tastiest I have ever had. I could have made a meal out of these. It came with four and we devoured them. Next came the ribs, which is served with mashed potatoes w/gravy and macaroni salad. I am usually pretty neutral on mashed potatoes and prefer white gravy to brown gravy, but these were very tasty and buttery. My husband thought they were just ok but I thought they were good. The macaroni salad was very standard, nothing unusual so if you have had it anywhere you know what it tastes like. The ribs, I loved. The rub/sauce was very much a hybrid Asian BBQ with a hint of something like hoisin or five spice, not sure. A little kick but to me very tolerable heat. We ate half a half rack and took the rest home. Then the popcorn chicken came out and the portion was very large, we only made it halfway through before we were completely stuffed, so we will air fry these babies for lunch tomorrow. Clearly we should have only ordered one entree between us if we didn't want a bunch of leftovers. But leftovers are great so it all works out. So much left on the menu to try! My favorite was the fries with honey butter, fries were great and slightly sweet. The whole chicken was ok, didn't really stand out and it wasn't dry but not as juicy as I would like it. The flavoring was decent. The wings were good, crunchy and pretty spicy however, they were a bit too salty. Takoyaki and okonomiyaki were ok, didn't really stand out. The restaurant is definitely for drinking and a night out as it's dark inside and playing kpop and hip-hop, etc. They offer beer, soju, and cocktails. They also have beer combos and a tower option. The fried foods like chicken wings, dumplings, were pretty good, and the thin cut fries must be eaten hot! The flavorings are fun and tasty: my friend and I chose Honey Butter fries, and it was a huge basket with a generous dusting of flavor. I didn't think sweet fries would appeal to me, but we both agreed it was delicious (I actually prefer their awesome fries over the infamous honey butter korean chips!) We also split a whole wood-fire chicken. It was a good amount for 2 people, (we had leftovers, so 2.5 or 3 people could probably share it). The cheese corn flavor was awesome: bursting with mozzarella, and came out sizzling on a hot serving platter. The chicken was not as juicy as preferred, but it was still good. Came here mid week since we were curious to see what this place was all about. Ends up it's a really good looking bar tucked away in a place that I thought was a bubble tea store. In the back they have a large field, looking to come back and hang out there when the weather warms up. As for the food we got some cocktails and ordered ribs. They tasted great, no regrets there. Lastly the service was good. The waiter was knowledgeable and knew what was good on the menu. The highlight of the evening was discovering a Japanese whiskey we actually enjoyed, Kujira. It tastes more similar to American bourbon than any other Japanese whiskey I have ever tried. Came here as a result of finding out the Korean Fried Chicken place we originally wanted to go to didn't have inside seating and this was close to it. So happy I stumbled upon this place because the food is soooo tasty! They still have their soft opening menu and a promotion where if you tag them on Instagram, the table gets 5 free pcs of soy garlic fried chicken wings, so I did that and got the wings. The wings were tasty, good crunch, and garlic flavour was on point. I also got the thin cut fries, with $2 extra for the yogurt cheese seasoning, SO good and addictive to eat. I could honestly just eat this at the restaurant, good crisp, nice and fresh, and the cheesy taste was addictive alongside the spicy sauce they provided. The Okonomiyaki pancake took some time to come out as the waiter said the orders were getting backed up, but loved it when it came out - thick and good crunch with the batter and the sauces and toppings were a perfect amount. I had an odd experience at this restaurant last night, which was a Sunday evening at normal dinner time. First, and this should possibly have been an indication, it was surprisingly empty for a dinner hour on a weekend. Food was fine, I liked my sandwich and drinks. The odd aspect was how ambivalent the service seemed to be. It was quite loud with unnecessary music playing, which might be appropriate if the place was packed and thus was needed for energy in the room, but as empty as it was the noise seemed out of place. But the really odd thing was we were told that the restaurant had no forks and knives. None. The waiter brought the smallest, flimsiest, cheapest plastic knives and forks imaginable. So inappropriate for trying to cut food or eat what is an expensive meal. It was so bizarre as no effort was made to explain why a restaurant with almost no customers would be "out" of forks and knives. At the end of the meal, despite there being only two tables occupied, I had to hunt down the server/bartender to pay. I asked, "Why no forks and knives?" and was told that the dishwasher had not come to work. Seriously? No one is capable of washing a few forks and knives? I guess this restaurant is not terrible.
