    Fish cake soup

We came as a bigger party, and there are not many tables. The restaurant is a lot smaller than expected. We didn't have a reservation, but luckily, there was some space in the karaoke rooms. But then they moved us to a table, and we honestly preferred the cozy karaoke rooms since we were able to face each other. We ordered a decent amount of dishes, but the portion size of each thing was soooo small that half of us didn't eat much and weren't full. We waited at least 30-45min for food when we were probably the only table they were serving at that point, and then each dish continued to come out very slowly. We were starving, and they tried to compensate us by giving us some tuna on lettuce (pictured). Definitely not enough to compensate. We even noticed a nearby table coming in after us, and they also waited around 45 minutes for food. They tried to compensate them with some fish cake and soup in a beer mug, which was hilarious to see. And then after all that wait, the food was not good. The most disappointing dish was the bossam since it was the most expensive, but the plate is the smallest I've seen compared to any other Korean restaurant. The fish cake soup was a bit salty, and the seafood pancake was even saltier. The pancake was also unexpectedly eggy and not as crispy like I'm used to. We liked the sour stir-fried pork with tofu but not the bulgogi, which had barely any meat and was a bit too spicy for our taste. I didn't really like it honestly. The army stew was okay but took the longest to come out. The best part of the meal was the bottled makgeolli, which is so sad. When we need the staff for rice, boxes, or the check, it was so hard to get their attention. The bathrooms are also only one stall, and someone always seemed to be in there. Overall, not a good experience, and I wouldn't come again. I left hungry and full of just soup.

Excellent service and food, we had such a great time here. They also gave us a free Makgeolli as well!

We ordered a spread: gyoza with sweet and spicy sauce, kimchi pancakes, fried shrimp, soy garlic wings, takoyaki, LA galbi, and jjampong with noodles... plus way too many drinks. We arrived early and scored prime seats by the bar, which turned out to be perfect, especially once the night shifted into more of a club vibe with a DJ. The energy was great, and most of the food was surprisingly delicious -- everything hit except the jjampong. We were expecting udon noodles, but it came with thin, clear noodles instead, and the flavor was a bit off for us. That said, the staff handled everything perfectly, and it didn't take away from the rest of the experience. Between the food, drinks, and nightlife atmosphere, we had an awesome time and will definitely be back. If you're looking for a spot that delivers on both taste and fun without compromise, this is it.

This is a honest review. The goal is for the restaurant to improve. Please don't delete it again…read more Food wait time was extremely long ( more than 45 mins) even though the restaurant was practically empty. The food tasted like it wasn't prepared by a real chef, or more like it was made by someone who had never even tasted their own cooking. It explains why the restaurant was empty vs. full house when it first opened. Honestly, any Korean restaurant in the DMV area is better than this. I don't understand how someone can screw up Korean food in Korean town. Every restaurant in the area gets better and better. Competition is high. The price is on the high end. I don't mind paying even more but please deliver in terms of food quality. They are 100x worse than my last 5 visits a while back. I'm a foodie with over 5k dmv followers. Please take this as a feedback to improve. I dine out everyday reviewing restaurants. When I say this is bad, this is bad. That's why this review comes from my 1 star review account. Back to 19xx.

However, my server said lunch actually goes until 2:30pm. A casual ambience. I notice that the staff constantly keeps their eyes on the customers. Not a big deal, but not something you see every day. There's a lot of lunch specials. I picked the beef fried rice. It comes with banchan and miso soup. The beef fried rice was very good. What was especially good was the delicious black bean sauce that came with the rice. I thought the tasty miso soup was excellent, very rich and silky. Banchan was kimchi, Danmuji fruit and slices of white onion. Accompanying the banchan was a dipping sauce that was similar to, but not the same as the black bean sauce. I will definitely be back.

The dining area is well lit with a kinda open floor plan with a half wall separating the sides. I came in New Year's Eve ~3pm and other patrons were picking up take-away orders. A large group, 15 patrons, came in while I was waiting and everyone was greeted. There were several patrons already enjoying their meal. I love the rice they use and the other ingredients are always fresh. They are generous with their portions. The chicken fried rice comes with a side of fresh onions and I some kind of pickled daikon (I think), a little tart, a little sweet and a nice crisp bite. Super yummy! And a side of ja-jang, I believe that is what it is. Very good and I eat it separately.
