Samgeyopsal + brisket

Our old go-to samgyeopsal place is now this restaurant, Mad for Grill! Got the old time favorites (Samgyeopsal, soju and naengmyeon) + spicy squid and they were great! The banchan (side dishes) was delicious and the vegetables for the wraps were really fresh. Will def go back.

Marinated galbi

I've had Korean BBQ in both Korea and the U.S., and this place hits all the right notes -- from the meats to the banchan (side dishes), everything feels like it was made with heart and heritage. We went with a group of three and got marinated galbi. It was melt-in-my-mouth tender, with that perfect sweet-savory balance. The portion was very generous, almost doubled than other places. What really stood out, though, were the banchan. Often an afterthought at many places, here they were abundant, fresh, and clearly homemade, including fresh kimchi that you just don't get from store-bought versions. The staff was attentive and friendly -- did the grill and quick to refill and bring more banchan without us even asking.

3 servings of porkbelly

Solid gogi place in Annandale! Meat is very fresh and the side dishes are also the best you can get. Recommend to anyone who doesnt want AYCE.

The location is where Nakwon used to be- Although the owner has changed, the rice cake and catering are still being done. Nakwon used to be our go-to Samghyupsahl place. The server claimed the meat is provided by the same people who sold it to Nakwon. I don't think so. The quality of the meat is different. We'd know because we've eaten at Nakwon for years; The stir fry spicy squid was really delicious. Probably the best we've eaten. The night wasn't entirely disappointing because of that one dish. Although the restaurant wasn't busy, the servers didn't come by unless we flagged them down in that tiny place. Unless our whole family wants stir fry spicy squids, I doubt we'll be returning. The KBBQ at 9292 was better. We'll stop occasionally for their yummy rice cakes. My family & I miss Nakwon.

As soon as I walked in, you know you're in for a treat. Very clean and the staff is super friendly. You've got your own grill at the table, server cook up all of meat for you. We ordered marinated galbi and potbelly- think melt-in-your-mouth gable and crispy pork belly. Also, they've got all sorts of traditional Korean dishes that will blow your mind. Plus, the bottle of soju. Long story short, if you're down for a deliciously casual night out with killer food and vibes, I would hit up Mad for Grill again! Definitely 100/10!

This place is one of my favorite Korean B.B.Q restaurant! I usually get pork belly but they also have very beef grill as well. I come here every special day and the side dish(ban chan)foods are very good. Good service too!

Food is fine, but it's too expensive for the atmosphere. I'd go elsewhere. My video review: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DE-m5b8NUe-/

We recently checked out JMT Kitchen & Bar on a Saturday night after hearing great things from…read morefriends -- and we definitely came hungry. We ordered a spread: gyoza with sweet and spicy sauce, kimchi pancakes, fried shrimp, soy garlic wings, takoyaki, LA galbi, and jjampong with noodles... plus way too many drinks. We arrived early and scored prime seats by the bar, which turned out to be perfect, especially once the night shifted into more of a club vibe with a DJ. The energy was great, and most of the food was surprisingly delicious -- everything hit except the jjampong. We were expecting udon noodles, but it came with thin, clear noodles instead, and the flavor was a bit off for us. That said, the staff handled everything perfectly, and it didn't take away from the rest of the experience. Between the food, drinks, and nightlife atmosphere, we had an awesome time and will definitely be back. If you're looking for a spot that delivers on both taste and fun without compromise, this is it.

This is a honest review. The goal is for the restaurant to improve. Please don't delete it again…read more Food wait time was extremely long ( more than 45 mins) even though the restaurant was practically empty. The food tasted like it wasn't prepared by a real chef, or more like it was made by someone who had never even tasted their own cooking. It explains why the restaurant was empty vs. full house when it first opened. Honestly, any Korean restaurant in the DMV area is better than this. I don't understand how someone can screw up Korean food in Korean town. Every restaurant in the area gets better and better. Competition is high. The price is on the high end. I don't mind paying even more but please deliver in terms of food quality. They are 100x worse than my last 5 visits a while back. I'm a foodie with over 5k dmv followers. However, my server said lunch actually goes until 2:30pm. A casual ambience. I notice that the staff constantly keeps their eyes on the customers. Not a big deal, but not something you see every day. There's a lot of lunch specials. I picked the beef fried rice. It comes with banchan and miso soup. The beef fried rice was very good. What was especially good was the delicious black bean sauce that came with the rice. I thought the tasty miso soup was excellent, very rich and silky. Banchan was kimchi, Danmuji fruit and slices of white onion. Accompanying the banchan was a dipping sauce that was similar to, but not the same as the black bean sauce. I will definitely be back.

The dining area is well lit with a kinda open floor plan with a half wall separating the sides. I came in New Year's Eve ~3pm and other patrons were picking up take-away orders. A large group, 15 patrons, came in while I was waiting and everyone was greeted. There were several patrons already enjoying their meal. I love the rice they use and the other ingredients are always fresh. They are generous with their portions. The chicken fried rice comes with a side of fresh onions and I some kind of pickled daikon (I think), a little tart, a little sweet and a nice crisp bite. Super yummy! And a side of ja-jang, I believe that is what it is. Very good and I eat it separately.
