Our old go-to samgyeopsal place is now this restaurant, Mad for Grill! Got the old time favorites (Samgyeopsal, soju and naengmyeon) + spicy squid and they were great! The banchan (side dishes) was delicious and the vegetables for the wraps were really fresh. Will def go back.

    Marinated galbi

I've had Korean BBQ in both Korea and the U.S., and this place hits all the right notes -- from the meats to the banchan (side dishes), everything feels like it was made with heart and heritage. We went with a group of three and got marinated galbi. It was melt-in-my-mouth tender, with that perfect sweet-savory balance. The portion was very generous, almost doubled than other places. What really stood out, though, were the banchan. Often an afterthought at many places, here they were abundant, fresh, and clearly homemade, including fresh kimchi that you just don't get from store-bought versions. The staff was attentive and friendly -- did the grill and quick to refill and bring more banchan without us even asking.

    3 servings of porkbelly

Solid gogi place in Annandale! Meat is very fresh and the side dishes are also the best you can get. Recommend to anyone who doesnt want AYCE.

The location is where Nakwon used to be- Although the owner has changed, the rice cake and catering are still being done. Nakwon used to be our go-to Samghyupsahl place. The server claimed the meat is provided by the same people who sold it to Nakwon. I don't think so. The quality of the meat is different. We'd know because we've eaten at Nakwon for years; The stir fry spicy squid was really delicious. Probably the best we've eaten. The night wasn't entirely disappointing because of that one dish. Although the restaurant wasn't busy, the servers didn't come by unless we flagged them down in that tiny place. Unless our whole family wants stir fry spicy squids, I doubt we'll be returning. The KBBQ at 9292 was better. We'll stop occasionally for their yummy rice cakes. My family & I miss Nakwon.

As soon as I walked in, you know you're in for a treat. Very clean and the staff is super friendly. You've got your own grill at the table, server cook up all of meat for you. We ordered marinated galbi and potbelly- think melt-in-your-mouth gable and crispy pork belly. Also, they've got all sorts of traditional Korean dishes that will blow your mind. Plus, the bottle of soju. Long story short, if you're down for a deliciously casual night out with killer food and vibes, I would hit up Mad for Grill again! Definitely 100/10!

This place is one of my favorite Korean B.B.Q restaurant! I usually get pork belly but they also have very beef grill as well. I come here every special day and the side dish(ban chan)foods are very good. Good service too!

The Best food ever!!! Especially seafood pancake thick and crispy omm yumm

The food is amazing ! Especially seafood pancake and kimchi jagae soup is delicious!! Definitely coming back!

Food is fine, but it's too expensive for the atmosphere. I'd go elsewhere. My video review: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DE-m5b8NUe-/

Though it is all-you-can-eat, their excellent dipping sauce, signature lettuce salad with unique seasoning, and side dishes--unlike those at some other local places--show a commitment to high standards. The service is praiseworthy; our attentive server made sure the BBQ plates were regularly refreshed, preventing any burning. They expertly grilled and skillfully sliced the meats into smaller portions for us. Even the suction from the grill pan was so strong that we left without smelling like BBQ. Every aspect of this restaurant is excellent, and I highly recommend it.

The place was very busy, which was good to see in these times. My daughters and I had the pull pork sandwiches, SG chicken salad, and some pork ribs. We had cornbread of course and sides were Mac & cheese, collard greens, pork & beans, and Cole slaw. We drinks and also had banana pudding to go. Everything was delicious the pulled pork was great and the girls added their favorite sauces. The ribs had the best smoke rings and were fall off the bone tender. They didn't need anything extra to help them. The chicken in the salad was moist and easy to cut. The salad was well balanced and delicious. The only thing I wish was on my salad was a boiled egg but that is personal preference. All the sides including the cornbread was flavorful and hit the spot with seasoning. Now it wasn't homemade but very good and worth the money for restaurant walk-in quality. The place even busy was also very clean and staff was working hard, very friendly and serviced us as soon as we walked in. The person running the from even asked for help at another register once three people were in line. Service being quality and as important as the quality of the food. A++ and 10 with two snaps in a circle. Go and enjoy.

I love me some BBQ & I love GAR group restaurants (Great American Restaurants for you non-locals…read morelol), but this one was a bit of a disappointment, unfortunately. DEETS: This is a counter-service restaurant where you place your order with a cashier, and someone brings your food to your table when it's ready. SERVICE: We went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, and it was not very busy at all, with maybe three tables occupied. There were several staff members behind the counter, but no one was paying attention to anything other than themselves or their phones, and they all had their backs to the entrance, oblivious. We waited & waited for someone to turn around, notice us, greet us, and be served. As for seating, we had only the option to sit at a table because all the open booths were dirty. The restrooms were not much better. After our food came out, they must have finally seen the mess because a couple of the crew members, including the chef, started cleaning up the tables. Great to finally see the place get cleaned, but the dining room should never have been in the condition it was in to begin with, especially with it so empty and the staff just standing around, oblivious, as if they had nothing to do... *sigh* & insert a big eyeroll! FOOD: Not surprisingly, the food was average because "you get what you give" and they obvi didn't give a.... We got a pulled pork and a prime brisket with coleslaw, and they were both a bit on the dry side and lacking flavor; nothing at all like the amazing pulled pork at their sister restaurants. The table had a cute wooden box holding a selection of sauces, but sadly, they all tasted pretty much the same. Surprise! lol As always, peeps, support your local small biz, and yes, I would possibly give them a second chance because I do love GAR concepts, but if I do go back, it won't be back anytime soon, or I may not go back at all and stick with my faves of their concepts that I love and know they work, i.e., Patsy's, Silverado, & Sweetwater. 5/31/26

I put in an order on the app at 11 on the dot and ordered two items- a mix plate, and a katsu/chicken bbq plate. It's now almost an hour in and it's still not done... I am questioning how service can actually operate when it takes this long for two plates to be made. Meanwhile, I've slowly seen a bunch of plates come out for people who ordered in... not quite sure when they ordered, but when I arrived, no one was at the counter for a few minutes and then someone finally came along and saw my order receipt. I will say, while I love the chain, this specific location is unacceptably slow. The bbq mix plate is also almost $30 which is a hard sell, considering it's a lot cheaper currently in places like San Diego... I'm extremely disappointed and I don't like to give negative reviews, but customer service is lacking the check in that could have alleviated my frustration (since I was told the wait would be 15 minutes tops). I wouldn't recommend L&L in Annandale unless they made changes. Service is too slow, there's a lack of communication, and the meals are way too expensive. Again- I hate writing negative reviews, but time is valuable, and a fast casual place should be better equip with adequate staff with honest timelines. I am a believer of second chances, so please make this right.

It's located in a strip shopping center, so parking is super easy and accessible, and the restaurant itself is very easy to find. Walking in, the space is extremely clean, well-lit, and nicely decorated. Now let's talk about the real highlight: the variety. They have dinner plates, bowl options, and à la carte items. I went with one of my favorites, the lechon. They were out of the roasted version, but the staff recommended the fried pork instead, and it did not disappoint. I came in around 7:30, and they close at 8, so I was trying to be mindful and not hold them up. But the woman at the counter was incredibly kind and told me not to rush at all--"you're already inside, take your time." That level of hospitality really stood out. She even took the time to walk me through the menu, which I appreciated, even though I'm already familiar with Filipino food. The food itself? Amazing. The lechon was perfectly crispy, flavorful, and cooked just right. The portion size was generous, and it came with two Lumpia that were hot, fresh, and delicious. It also included a soda, which made it feel like a complete, satisfying meal. Overall, this place is a 10/10. Great food, great portions, and even better customer service. I'd highly recommend stopping by.

The women working here were kind and helpful. You order at the counter in the back, and they will bring your food to your table. Menu options abound, but the only menu was the display screen above and in back of the counter. Unfortunately, the display screen is hard to see and there are no descriptions with the pictures/items. Mang Eton really needs to provide some printed menus. While the online menu does contain descriptions, the online descriptions don't necessarily match what is available. Anyways.... For a starter, we ordered the siomai. These were plump and tasty. We wish they would give more of the excellent dipping sauce than the tiny thimble of sauce that they do give you. Note: the combo meals also include a couple pieces of siomai. I ordered the Combo #1, which came with a piece of fried chicken, 2 lumpia, shrimp chips, rice and pancit. The lumpia had an excellent flavor. The fried chicken and pancit were okay. JP ordered the Combo #3. The only difference between the Combo #1 and Combo #3 is that the Combo $3 comes with fish instead of chicken. It also comes with a skewer of meat (pork?), which was good. We were the only non-Filipino customers. I plan on coming back to try the halo-halo dessert and to order some more yummy siomai.
