O My Sole! Cutest shoes ever! Some of the shoes are a bit pricey but they're worth every penny. Wally, the woman who helped me, was magical! Yes, I know she's a salesperson BUT she was so fun. My new shoes made her almost as excited as me and she made my experience so enjoyable. I bought two pair (they had a deal- buy two, get second pair half off) and I walked out in the shoes I bought because I loved them so much. (That doesn't happen very often). It's been a week and I have ONLY worn the two pair I bought! I LOVE the choices and I ALWAYS skip out happy! Just left O My Sole and was really upset with my experience.(Saturday, April 7th around 4pm) There were two women working there and neither greeted or helped me or my boyfriend. We had planned a trip to purchase two pairs of Birkenstock sandals. A gentleman came in before us and the employee with the accent helped him. Which is fine, he was there first. He was the only other customer in the store. We stood in front of the sandals for around 10 minutes. No acknowledgement from either of them. Even when he was trying on his shoes, no one came to see if we needed help. I thought it was very rude. We'll go some place else with better customer service. read more

Cute shoes, customer service sucks. I went in and found the same pair of El Naturalista clogs that I already have but in black. Unfortunately, it was not in my size. This little punk kid tries to tell me that the same pair of the same brand of shoes I've been wearing for a year was not the correct size. Instead, he says, the size they do have in stock is the size that's correct for me. I didn't buy into his bull and asked if the could check to see if he can order it in. He got my name, # and the shoe info and said he would call me once this manager gets it from the other store. It should be about a week. A week and half goes by and no call from the, so I called them and asked if it was coming in. The little brat on the phone said she'll look into and and it takes awhile for the manager to pick it up from the other store so just be patient. Another week goes by and nothing from them. I called again and the same lines of crap was fed to me. I ended up finding my shoes online and ordering it AND receiving them. It's been 10 months now and I have yet to hear anything back from this crappy shoe store that wastes people's time. The one star I gave them was for having shoes period. read more

I suppose the store is fine and all - but they do absolutely no returns. I was looking for comfortable AND cute walking sandals...I bought a pair of Born sandals after hemming and hawwing for a while - for a total cost of $97...figuring if i didn't still love them in a couple days I'd just bring them back. VERY BAD ASSUMPTION. Absolutely no refunds...only store credit or exchange. This is so uncommon I didn't even think to ask...but after I finally spend my store credit - probably on 4 pairs of flip flops I don't really need, I won't be shopping here again...totally lame policy. read more

Warning! Don't buy shoes here. I bought a $174 pair of black Pikolinos shoes the night before I left on a 3 week trip to Turkey. The first time I wore the shoes in a light drizzle they absorbed so much water that my socks needed wringing out. They were worse when it rained. When I returned, I took the shoes back to an understanding sales person who promised to get back to me in a couple of days to tell me how the store could make amends. After waiting for one week, I returned to the store and was told that the owner, a Mr Moon, didn't consider there to be any defect in the shoes because they weren't advertised as waterproof ! I was flabbergasted. I couldn't walk outside in the shoes in any inclement weather. Every shoe purchaser expects her/his shows to withstand a light drizzle. I was essentially told I paid $174 for sunny-day only shoes. I will NEVER go into this store again. And I recommend that no one else does either. read more

My fiancé bought a great pair of very classy men's dress shoes here today and the overall experience was great. The saleswoman was very helpful (tried to call around to see if the pair we wanted was available at another location in the size we needed) and friendly. We didn't feel pressured to buy, which I appreciate because i like to leave my options open. They did lose one star for the poor men's selection relative to the women's. I understand its probably a target market thing, and I'm sure women buy more shoes, but it would be nice to see a few more choices in the men's section, and frankly, I feel like there is a definite market for it in this area? But maybe I'm off the mark with all the college students. In any case, I expect that I will go back and we were very happy with both the quality of the shoe and the quality of the service. read more

Walked in yesterday and was happily greeted by a male associate who was very polite but also busy. I thought he was the only one working until I seen a female associate sitting down on her phone in the back. When she finally decided to come to the front end of the store she did not greet me or ask if I needed help or anything. She simply stood there with a disgusted look on her face and when I finally was going to ask for a size she made it seem like it was such a hassle so when she finally brought my size out I simply told her im okay and dont want them and she said okay and put the shoe in the box and left them there for the young man to attend to. Before walking out I told the gentleman to keep working hard you're doing great and he smiled, thanked me for the compliment, and told me to enjoy the rest of my night. Customers should be treated with respect from EVERY employee not just certain ones. I'd gladly come back to purchase something as the store as great products just not from that female associate. GREAT customer service and competitive pricing for quality shoes. My husband needed some new comfort sandals. He's got a foot problem that negates shopping online or buying cheap shoes - Payless comes to mind... We wandered into O My Sole after having a very disappointing, lack-luster experience in the Van's store. At first, we only saw only a few pairs of sandals along the wall. He was interested, but not exactly overwhelmed. And there was a very limited selection, maybe 4 or 5 to choose from. As we were looking, the sales person was waiting on another customer near the back of the store. He was apparently the only person working. He did, however, acknowledge our presence across the room, and say that he would be right with us. The other customer left without buying anything. The sales guy came over and my husband asked him if he had Teva's. He took us to the back of the store where there were many types and styles to choose from. We were delighted! He must have gone into the back for different shoes at least 6 times. We both felt kind of bad about that and apologized. Assisting customers is one thing, but we don't want to abuse the help! He was very gracious and told us not to worry about that. With a smile, he said it was no problem. My husband liked a pair of Clark's from up front and a Teva from the back. When the sales guy saw this, he offered a 10% discount if he bought both pairs! WOW! That was a first for us. Since when does a store offer up an unadvertised discount?! So, how could we possibly turn that down, especially since they were quality shoes that felt good and fit right? The sales guy seemed genuinely pleased to make the $150 sale. Wish we would have gotten his name. Next time. And yes, there will be a next time. In fact, we'll start at O My Sole! And hopefully, not have to go anywhere else. read more

The secret to Ol My Sole is to go there soon after they open. It's true, they "stock" few salespeople, so when a crowd comes in (2 or 3) there is a wait. I am always pleased with my purchases there, because I know the quality is great. I have a pair of sandals I've worn for the last ten years that came from O My Sole. Given the depreciation factor, the cost was a bargain. I write this in the month of December and just got back from their "buy one get the next pair half off" sale. The European variations of selections can't be beat. If you can, deal with Anna for sales. She knows her stuff. read more

Well, Well, Well-Were do I start? Customer service lacks truthfulness and knowledge. I was looking for comfortable work sturdy shoes-I stand for long periods at work, so I do not mind the expensive price of a good quality shoe. The female sales rep that day appeared as if she was honest-not true. I asked several times if the shoe I was trying on would stretch much, she assured me it would not and the pair that I was trying on was a great size for me. The reason I was asking if it would stretch much is because it already felt a little loose and would be too loose with wear. So, walking out the store with two pair of shoes and $350 bucks less in my wallet, I excited about getting to finally wear some comfortable shoes for work and play! Not! The "work" shoes were flopping off my feet before my shift was even over. I thought maybe if I wear a thicker pair of socks they will stay on my feet and not feel as floppy, Not! The thicker socks did not work. I had only wore them a day and they were already too loose. She also stated that a lot of people were choosing this brand because they were still being made by the original makers(some European country she mentioned) and not in china-I later looked inside the shoe-Made in China. This place has a pretty good selection, however they need to work on their staff. I had gone in for some ankle boots and asked if they had a pair in my size. She comes out of the back and says sorry we don't have it. She then proceed to hand me back the shoe to put back on the shelf and just walks away. Hello, are you not the employee? O My Sole should be renamed O My SLOW. I sat down and asked to see a pair of shoes in my size and waited and waited. I could have had a baby or grown my hair out. From my vantage point on the bench, I could see that the back room with the stored shoes was horribly disorganized and the guy who was looking for my shoes was flustered and overwhelmed, like he was looking for shoes and finding boxes of tangerines. Finally, the confused guy brought out a pair of shoes, yes, and my size, yes, but not at all the shoes I asked to see. What was he thinking? I was going to Czech Republic and wanted a pair of comfortable walking shoes that were water resistant. The gal recommended a particular brand of walking shoes with a mesh upper. Mesh? Huh? I asked her a second time if the shoes were water resistant, she said yes. I thought, maybe there is a fabric below the mesh that will repel the water and since she the employee, she should know what she's talking about. Not. She obviously didn't know what 'water resistant' meant. Stupid me, purchased the shoes. On 2nd Street customer service is usually above par. Sometimes I wonder if they think of themselves as the Rodeo Drive of Long Beach. And call me prissy, but I love it. They truly put an effort into making you feel important. So I expected the same, at O My Sole. Silly me. Shoes range from $119. 99 through $259.49 and though my heart said it was foolish I needed some strong shoes w a tech support, so I was ready and willing. There were 3 people working two in deep conversation with each other and one assisting a customer. How do I know they were working? It was a guess because none ever spoke to me, but the too chatting and giggling were behind the checkout stand. Now that it dawns on me, wouldn't it be fabulous if the person on the floor me as just another customer helping a friend out, and the two behind the counter wore so wrapped up in the discussion about lunch they never noticed? After five minutes of being ignore (even going to the counter and clearing my throat did nothing) I left and took my business elsewhere. I guess I can thank O My Sole, because the lack of. Bought a pair of men's shoes that I really love. They were European, look nice and fit me nice. Cracks me up so many people complain that they purchase shoes and days later they don't fit right or that they get damaged by wareing them. Have these people ever bought shoes before. I had a very bad experience at this store and was appalled at the customer service. I had purchased $240.00 L'AmourDesPieds Sandals. However, after one single day of use (they were still pristine when I took them back), it became apparent that the strap was digging into the top of my foot, causing significant discomfort. Unfortunately I did not detect this discomfort by simply wearing it in the store. When I brought it back for an exchange, the cashier lady insisted that they could not return it. Despite the fact that I showed the cashier the scratches the shoe had left on my feet, she refused to even consider an exchange and became very hostile with me. She then proceeded to attempt to kick me out of the store and called the police! I have never seen such horrible customer service. I would not recommend anyone buy shoes here. How can one truly test out a shoe if they cannot wear it outside. For a shoe store, this policy makes little sense. I recommend everyone save their sanity and buy from a store that accepts returns and values their customers. read more
