When I was in college and would come home to visit dad in Berwyn, I would sometimes need to change my oil. I've been shopping at Murray's for years to buy oil, filters, pretty much anything I need to keep my car's engine happy. I've always received good service from the staff (and I might add that they were always well staffed) there and the check out girls have always been friendly. In fact, I bought all my auto supplies in Spring 2008 for last summer at this Murray's. Flash forward to June 2009: It's oil-changing time! Time to go to Murray's! I enter anticipating the check-out girls and service desk dude. I freeze in my tracks. Where are the check-out registers? Where's the service desk? The counter in the back has been shifted to the side of the store where the entrance is, and there are just 2 guys working the whole store. They get parts from the back for people who need help and explanations how to fix their own cars, answer the phones, AND they and they have to ring up all the customers! At 2pm on a Saturday afternoon, you'd think they'd be better staffed than that. Where were the check-out registers? Where were the check-out girls? There were not even any girls to check out! (Yeah, I go to the auto store on Saturday afternoon to meet chicks...heh). I waited in line all too long to buy 5 quarts of Penzoil and a FRAM filter. Also, I noticed the store was not nearly as clean it used to be. What happened? Turns out O'Reilly Auto bought Murray's parent company, CSK. I get it. LET'S CUT COSTS. Over the years I have gone here for anything car related that I needed ASAP, but no longer will. Osmar is absolutely incompetent and the atrocious customer service he provided was absolutely appalling. The only thing that made this trip significantly worse is that the person Osmar identified as the manager, Miguel, did not correct his behavior or step in to relieve the situation. I will be calling corporate with the time and date of the incident so they can review the cameras to witness this atrocity for themselves. I have never in my life been this dissatisfied with a trip to the store and can easily see why the brick-and-mortar shopping experience is becoming a thing of the past. read more

Don't ever go to this store to get your rotors or drums resurfaced. Barely have anyone with automotive knowledge let alone how to properly resurface rotors. I dropped my rotors to be resurfaced the manager said he could do it. About an hour later I get a call saying the machine screwed up my rotor and ruined them. When I asked about replace it, he refused to replace my rotor with a new one cause he said it wasn't their fault. After arguing with them about it he finally gave a free replacement rotor. read more

I needed a headlight bulb changed. I had called several other auto shops that quoted me at least $100 in labor to change a tiny bulb. I called O'Reilly's and they said they could change it depending on if they had the correct tools. I told them I would stop by to have them check. I was helped promptly by Ricardo who informed me it would only cost the price of the bulb and they would replace it for free. After getting the old one out he asked if I wanted the same bulb in there (he said it was one of the more expensive ones and I'm a broke college student so I appreciated him asking) got the bulb I wanted in there and even put a corrosive protectant around the bulb for me. All within 15 minutes and cost $16. Super pleased. read more

Just left the store, better yet walked out!! I w as they about 20 min waiting for someone to assist me in finding a can of brake fluid cleaner. I should of been in and out in less then 5 min. There where 2 workers a girl who looked like she had started that morning (clueless) and a guy who told me what aisle to go I showed hi one and he did that wasn't it, but didn't bother telling me to wait and he would assist me.. instead the girl when over and was going through all the cans trying to find one!! How can i company have people working for them that never worked on cars or went to school to learn how to tell parts. last week I brought a battery in to get charged and checked, they said it was okay.Today I went back with the car running and the battery in the car and they stated that the battery was no good what the hell is going on at that store. they lost my business. I called district manager twice never return my call. What a great team you have working at the Berwyn store on Oak Park. Either get smarter people working for you,or close the store. Shittyes palce to buy auto parts!!! I went to buy brakes for my stratus, wow 18$ turned out I was getting my brakes done, they gave me the wrong brake pads. Wat a joke. So I called the asswipe manager and he told me the part was on the way. Hour and ten min pass by. The stupid delivery guy brought the wrong brakes again. WTF! Are you kidding me. So he ended up taking my pads back to refund my money,he was bringing my money back cuz of their mistake. So the shop were I was getting my brakes done at got them delievered in ten minutes awesome. So I called oreillys telling them to hold the part there I talked to some ( female dogg) if u know wat I mean. She told me yea ok come for your refund, I get there a hour and half later, and that same (female dogg) named NINA and she said I afto wait for the delievery guy to come back, so your telling me I waited for a hour and ten min for you doumb asses to bring me a wrong part, and I gots to wait for my refund money this establishment is a joke, I cannot believe these people are in bissness, I called corporate same story,jokes. I can't believe the have. Stupi, jackass people working there never will I step foot in any oreillys store again, not even to take a piss.
