He helped me hand select the products needed, taught me how to do it, wrote it down and reviewed it with me. He looked up the style and make of my car to confirm we got the right paint, and made sure I understood how to do it. I also have a cracked fender/bumper(cluelessness example) and he helped me buy the products needed, and physically assisted me with putting the lug nuts on. As an older gentlemen he was on the ground helping me fix my issues. He made me confident that I could fix my scratches on my car, and he was incredibly professional and resourceful. I promised Sherm I would come back to show him the result when I repainted my scratches like he told me. When I came home, I told my fiancé about the encounter and he stated "they don't make them like that anymore". That's the truth, he took time out of his day to explain, assist, and physically look at the car issues I was facing. I was nervous walking into an auto repair store knowing nothing about cars or how to fix them, but genuinely walked out feeling motivated and confident to do it myself. I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day and the technician (is that what we call them? I don't know car things...) was able to come to my residence to replace my windshield.
