Customer care is Key! They really try to make sure you are taking care of. This O'Reilly and the one on Milwaukee by Pulaski are the places to go. They really want to make sure you are getting a real bag for your buck. The employees know what they are talking about and always help you find what you need. When I go change my break pads, which I have lifetime warranty on them, it is always hassle free. Moreover, I was having A/C issues over the summer and they recommended a trusted neighborhood mechanic who was honest and gave me a really good price on labor. Surprisingly, the owner of Diamanté Tires knows him too and vouched for him. Really recommend this place for all your car needs. read more

My car battery died two weeks after the warranty went up, so I had zero expectation that I would be able to have that honored and figured this was gonna be an expensive ordeal. The moment I walked in carrying a battery, a worker walked up to me and began assisting me. At first they were going to charge the old one for me(an evidently free service), but then even more to my surprise they looked up the phone number used to buy it and honored the warranty regardless of it having just barely expired, so this whole ordeal didn't cost me a penny. I've had the worst experience with these staff members who work here, the manager Cesar told me he has placed the order and everything was set and that I will receive a phone call to stop by and pick up the part the next day. I never received a phone call from them and whenever I call and ask bout the part they put me on hold it sounded suspicious than I found out that the manager Cesar had put the wrong info for the part and it won't be delivered they told me to stop by and get a refund even though my time was wasted and they guaranteed that I will have the part when I went to pick up by refund they were giving me hard time and told me to wait for the manager to come back and no one wanted to call him and inform him of what's going on one employees his name is Juan decided to act tough and escort me outside he pulled a taser out of his pocket and tried to threaten me with it told me he's from out south and started talking shit than ended up calling the police these guys made a mistake with my order and they tried to blame it on me and not take any responsibility for their actions these staff members are not professional at all the front desk is always empty or has one employee while everyone just hangout in the back and when you walk in they make you wait in a line instead of calling someone from the back to take care of you. I've informed the corporate about this behavior they are not happy with it at all and will take further actions these staff members should be eliminated immediately. read more

I don't know if corporate O'Reilly reads this, but you should because you have one heck of an employee in Carlos. Our 2013 VW Tiguan decided not to start on the coldest weekend of the year so far. I looked around online and it seemed like it was either a bad battery or the alternator. We were really hoping it wasn't the alternator. We were able to borrow a neighbor's portable jumper to get the car going and came into this O'Reilly. I was nervous because some of the reviews were not great, but I hoped that things had changed. I was instantly greeted by Carlos when I walked in the door. He was super friendly and welcoming. I told him that I could not get the car to turn over even though the battery wasn't dead, and he quickly grabbed his battery testing kit and said let's hope it's not the alternator. Sure enough, the battery was bad, which made sense because it had been giving us a hard time for awhile. We go back inside, he has the battery we need, and then he goes back out to my car to take a look and comes back in and says he will replace it for me for free! It is 0* out and snowing! And he helps me take the old battery out, puts the new one in, adds battery acid preventive jelly, and bam! New battery, car starts like a dream, and Carlos now saved us from a non working car in the coldest week of the year and a trip to the mechanic. Carlos, I can't thank you enough for saving us this weekend and hope somebody reads this and gives you a bonus or a raise. You are one heck of a guy and I am glad to know people like you still exist in this world read more

Decided to run in and ask for a part to see how much it costs. The girl behind the counter asked if I needed help I said yes she asked me What it was I told her. she said we would have to order it and that you can call back in an hour and asked me For my number. She put it in the computer then took a pamphlet from counter and scanned it and asked me my name and information. I asked why did they need it I just want to inquire of the price and if it's in stock I then asked what is that pamphlet it looked like some kind of rewards membership and she said yes. I said no Thank you I don't want my information anywhere I was just asking for the part She quickly got defensive and said " ok then , we don't have the part" With attitude like I did something wrong! Lol meanwhile she has her cellphone prompted up by her computer with her FaceTime open talking to someone!! Yup hopefully I don't get any solicitation calls or junk calls ! He even took me to the parking lot to demonstrate how to use the tools on his own car. He genuinely cared about fixing my issue. I walked in just around lunch time on a Tuesday. I was the only customer in the store. To the three Hispanic gentlemen debating Puerto Rico joining the Union: - it's a riveting subject to be sure but all I want is a replacement bulb for my headlight; - the faster you help me, the faster I leave, the faster you can get back to impressing the short Hispanic girl with black Uggs (or Bearpaws). To the short Hispanic girl with black Uggs (or Bearpaws): - putting metal pieces through your face decreases your attractiveness level with pretty much everybody - except perhaps your fellow Hispanic coworkers (which are pierced in various parts of their bodies as well); - what you do to your face I normally do to meat I'm about to grill, that is, skewer it; - I know it's a lot like high school - put one girl in a room of guys and they'll be running over each other trying to impress you but really, all I want is a headlight bulb. To the O'Reilly Auto Parts leadership: - please teach customer service to your staff. Autozone on Western (a couple of blocks north of Addison) are fantastic. I got the part I needed in less than 5 minutes - coincidentally, it was a headlight bulb as well, just for the other headlight. - I know that at the price point you're willing to pay your staff you can only attract a certain demographic but please set some standards of conduct and appearance. read more

I'm relatively new to Chicago and will be only staying for a short time so I didn't bring all my tools from back home. Came in to ask about bulbs for a brake light and was helped immediately. When I told them about my situation, they had Danny come out to take a look at my car and help me change the brake light. Everyone was very kind with fantastic customer service skills. It was 930. they close at 10 and I needed a code read. it would have taken 5 minutes at most (that's how long it took when I saw an autozone on my way home). I called before I drove over there to make sure they would still be open. When I got there the guy in front yelled to the guy in back "hey are we still checking codes now?" I could tell he was looking for a reason to not check the code. When the guy in back said they do, Lazy Dude asked me what year my car was and when i said 1997, he said "oh, we only do 98 and newer - only OBD2" I said it was OBD2 and he said it wasnt. Oh well. I called this location to ask if someone on site would be able to install a headlight at the time of purchase or if an appointment is needed. A woman, who identified herself as the store manager, stated she does not allow her employees to complete difficult installs but shared it may be a possibility if the installation was easy to do - understandable. My issue is the manager abruptly terminated the call before answering my actual question while I was actually still mid-sentence in attempts to reiterate my inquiry. My question was - is someone able to install a headlight at the time of purchase or is an appointment scheduled in advance necessary? After being hung up on, I had to call back and speak with someone else who was able to help. The answer was - if they aren't busy at the time of purchase they may be able to install a headlight pending the ease of the installation. That makes sense. Unfortunately, I won't be going to this location based on the lack of customer service and poor listening and comprehension skills of management. Thanks! read more

This place rocks. I remember before the restructure, it wasn't so great going in there. The people were swearing and no one really cared. This place has definitely received a face lift. I was there today and there were so many people helping out customers. I didn't feel like I was bothering them like most auto parts stores. If you go to Auto-zone, there is one person there and when you do get helped, they push you out becuase the phone is ringing. O'Reilly is getting better in my opinion, they have really good prices, I check them almost daily. I also like the fact that they provide warranty on engine parts. I only shop at O'Reillys now for all my car needs. read more

The cashier was very friendly and efficient. I called about 40 minutes before they were about to close to look for a certain auto part. The man, sounding busy enough, gave me different options and double checked to make sure they were in stock. We arrived a few minutes later and the store was quite busy. Terrible customer service. Stopped in today for some air filters I needed, no one acknowledged or greeted me, which I'm ok with no big deal I can find items on my own. I eventually stood in line patiently waiting for the cashier to get off the phone with a customer. After a minute or so a hispanic gentlemen walked into the store and walked right up to the counter in front of me. The cashier finally got off the phone and started talking with the gentlemen in spanish. He then started scanning an item and helping this gentlemen before me. I was completely ignored. I feel as if I was profiled for not being hispanic. Not a way to treat anyone let alone someone trying to give you their business. I put my items on the counter and walked out. Went straight to auto zone on western, was greeted and helped right away. Will never be going to an o'reilly's again. read more
