Even with that, I was good with the price of the car. We agreed on the price. I was going to be coming in from out of town. At first I was asked to arrange to put down a deposit, which I was fine with. The car needed some body work and would be about 10 days till it was ready. I was fine with that. They changed the request, asked if I would take a call with the finance manager and arrange for full payment. I was fine with that. I was asked if I could take a call in 15 minutes. I was out, asked for an hour. I was asked if I was going to finance, and I said I was going to just pay cash. 3 hours later... no call. I texted my sales rep. called. About 30 minutes after my second call, I get a text. After we talked and agreed on price, someone else came in and they sold the car. Wow. He backtracked and said it happened while we were talking via phone. But then why was there no call explaining that? Why did I have to hunt them down? From the time I said yes, to the request to meet with the finance manager, I got three calls with different requests. That means he was talking to the management team there. I'm not buying that there was another deal going on at the same time. I think an easier (local buyer or more profitable one (financed) came in after.
