Parking lot sucks!!!!! Backed into a spot after a snow storm couldn't tell there was a massive and I mean massive pothole in that took up the whole spot!!! Store manager Erik Dovers went above and beyond not only determining the problem with my wiper washer reservoir (dealership said the reservoir was cracked) Erik determined it was the pump had broken saving me over 200. He didn't stop there, he got out and actually installed it for me which he didn't have to do. Give the man a raise. I've always gotten great service from the two O'Reilly's on the east side of Madison. I got a warning ticket from Madison's Finest recently for having a burned out headlight, so I called first to make sure the bulb I needed was available. It was, and the friendly female clerk described in detail the prices and features of each of the several choices in stock. Super helpful! When I arrived and bought my bulbs at the E. Washington store, the guy who rung me up installed the new bulb in like three seconds flat (it takes me much longer and with much cursing) so that was SO appreciated! read more

I bought a starter from them. 6 months later the starter started to fail then wouldn't work. They were unable to get me another that day so my mechanic had to source another starter. I was very frustrated and went back with the starter to get my money back under the warranty. Jesse was the first guy to try to help me. He was very helpful but could not switch out the part. He needed the manager approval. I went back to meet the manager. He looked at the starter and tested it and approved the return. He stood by his warranty and did what was right. The first guy came out and tested the battery while the car was still running and said it was fully charged. Luckily another guy was willing to come back out to check it correctly (car not running) after we went back in for a second opinion. They then sold us a battery that wasn't recommended for the car because they only sold "low end batteries" for my car make and thought that the other one was better. The car is less than 5 years old so it seems like they should have a good battery in stock. The battery didn't fit correctly and after monkeying around with it in below zero weather for 45 minutes, one of them came out to look at it, but only after I went in to retrieve them. Their solution was to add a couple more washers to help it fit. So... Bad products and staff that don't want to be inconvenienced. Awful experience and frost bitten hands guaranteed! read more

I was at O'Reilly earlier this week buying a couple tools for an upcoming car repair. Upon returning to my car, it wouldn't start! I thought maybe the battery was weak, so Nick from O'Reilly came out to give me a jump. When that didn't work, Nick suspected either my cylinders were flooded, or that I wasn't getting fuel to the engine at all. Unfortunately closing time was approaching, so I dreaded having to call a tow truck and deal with my issues another day. Instead, Nick and the other employee on duty, Randy, stuck around with me after the shop had closed helping me diagnose my problem. They had me check the air sensor, spark plugs, fuel injectors... until finally we traced it back to a failed fuel pump. I replaced the pump and it fired right up! There really is no better place to break down than an auto parts parking lot, and with employees willing to go above and beyond like this to help me get the job done, you bet I'll be back shopping at this O'Reilly store again and again. read more
