I've visited this O'Reilly Auto Parts twice with my girlfriend to purchase parts for her BMW, and an employee named David happened to help us both times. I didn't catch his last name, but he deserves recognition. David was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping us. Both times I was uncertain about a part, he immediately volunteered to come outside and look at the car. During our first visit, he even replaced the brake-light bulbs for us. On our most recent visit, he came outside again, helped us locate the fuse boxes, and helped determine which fuse we needed. It is rare to encounter someone who is so professional and sincerely eager to help customers. David went above and beyond during both visits and made the entire process much easier. I walked in today with a dead car battery and stood at the counter waiting for a bit of help for five minutes. There were three employees working behind the counter they saw me but just kept fiddling with things on the computer and shelves like I didn't exist. They didn't say hi, didn't ask if I needed help, wouldn't acknowledge me. So, I just ended up turning around and walking out. They lost a couple hundred dollars in business today. I was going to buy a new car battery for my daughter and some coolant but I will go to AutoZone down the street. I just read another review by a woman who has treated the same way recently and went to that AutoZone and had a better experience so that's where I'm headed. Couldn't be happier after my first visit to this place. As a 50+ aged female with little to no car maintenance or repair knowledge...I would give this business a ten star rating if I could. From the moment I arrived with a blown Volvo headlight, I was greeted with friendly, helpful staff that served with knowledge and service that went above and beyond. We all know when people actually care about what they do and how they help people...these guys Jerry and Fidel really do! I've learned that many cars have easy access for bulb changes...but not my car. There were obstacles and nuances that required greater effort, perseverance and attention to detail. As the filter box was removed to get at the bulb, it was found also that my air filter appeared to not have been changed for 5+ years...although it has been having regular services at a local shop. :/ The bulb that was needed was delivered in 15 minutes and installed with the filter ( and much needed oil) in a flash. Throughout the service I learned a great many things about Volvo/car ownership and now have greater car ownership confidence for the future. I will MOST definitely continue to come here for my car needs and tell everyone who needs a trustworthy, knowledgable place that this OReilly's is a must go-to! read more

Super nice guys. Ordered an oil filter for me, and said it would be there later that day, they would call when it arrived. Two days later I dropped by and they had not received the filter. After about thirty minutes of phone calls, realizing that the order did not go through, and that the system would not process the order for some reason, they asked if a different brand was ok, as long as it fit? First of all, why was that not offered to me three days ago? Secondly, the one they pulled off the shelf was actually the one I had originally asked for. It's a standard O'Reillys. Get your quick fixes for your car here. Too bad I don't have a car (just a bike). The inside of the store is pretty clean and stocked. When you walk in, they have their flyers right at the front of the door in both English and Spanish, so you can check out the deals that might not be displayed on the shelf. I grabbed some Seafoam for $7.99, which isn't horribly priced (it's usually $9.99 at Autozone). My only complaint is they close a bit early. read more

Stopped by today for a simple check engine light test and the person in charge told me "ten minutes" since he was supposedly alone (which he wasn't). I didn't mind waiting but then 35 minutes pass and he doesn't even check if I'm still in the parking lot, which I parked right in front of the entrance. I decided to leave and went to Autozone down the street and they literally helped me out in what felt like less than 5 minutes. This is my go to auto parts store and I've been going for as long as it's been O'reilly. I have received consistently good service and and they usually have what I want. If they need to order it I get it in a day or two. Pricing is competitive and sometimes, noticeably better than other places nearby. I'm struck by how kind and consistently helpful they are to all customers whether is some gardener with a beater truck or a woman with an expensive Range Rover - everyone gets treated well. That's why I'm surprised to see a couple of negative reviews for this store. I think I was in the store when one of these "negative" experiences was going down and the guy was a complete tool. He'd called one store and gone to another. He refused to let the clerk see his "recent dials" when he said he could "prove" he called. Hmmm. I smelled horse pucky. Anyway, back to my experience with them. I have a bad hand from a dog bite that left it torn up and weak and without fail the men and women that work there will happily slap windshield wipers on my car, which is a big help. I can do it but it takes me 10 times as long. That they do this cheerfully and even in the rain speaks volumes and they have a no tip policy which they adhere to rigorously. The manager runs a tight ship and the store is clean and extremely well laid out. Because I feel like I have to complain about at least one thing here goes: to you knuckleheads that do your repairs in front of the store and drop oil and packages all over the asphalt - c'mon, don't be pigs. I came in today to take advantage of the 5 Qts of Valvoline oil and a Microguard filter for approximately $25. Smaller than most shops but still seems to be enough. One of the clerks was sorting items and I asked if she could help me with motor oil weight for an unfamiliar vehicle. She was prompt and directed me to the 5w-30 and grabbed the oil filter. I wish I could have just paid and made my way out the door but she started talking to another clerk about a phone call he was taking. The other clerk focusing on the call ignored her and she wouldn't let up. 90 seconds into it they were bickering, it was as if they had forgotten where they were. Once they settled some issue about a part for a car no one knew about she finally rang me up. It was three awkward minutes that felt like forever but I endured because I really needed the oil. read more

I stopped by for a rare visit to O'Reilys when looking for a drain plug and washer. It ended up being $9 plus which I thought I needed until I went back to Autozone. I found the same washer in a multipack at Autozone for the same price as the single washer at O'Reilys. The drain plug was also $1 cheaper. This is a very small sample but shows why I am more a fan of Autozone because of their cheaper prices! read more

So I try to start the ole hoopty this morning and I get...Rmm,Rmmm...Rrrrrrrrr...Vroom! (Yup my car says Vroom!). Damn! I need a new battery! I had bought my battery from this location almost 3 years ago but could not find my receipt...So cruised on over to find out that this is no longer a Kragen, but an O'Reiley's location....I took my old fried battery in and asked about a exchange. Well, just the way my Monday is going I got the new employee in training. Not to mark her down, she was very helpful, or at least as helpful as she could have been. Between her and the Asst. Manager John, they found my original purchase way back in '07 and got me the proper credit for the old battery and selected the right new battery. John was even nice enough to run and grab the new, heavy ass, battery for me. Turns out O'Reilly doesn't sell the same brand or model that I had, so I ended up getting the current equivalent which is a better battery, with a year longer warranty! Very Cool. John seemed very knowledgeable and explained the differences and my credit in good order. I do many of my own basic repairs, but when I cannot, or am too lazy, I like going someplace where I know the staff has a reasonable amount of common sense and will put customer satisfaction first. This place sucks! It is a smaller store but the customer service is LACKING! i called in for brake rotors, yes we have them, verified price ladidadi...I live a whopping 3 miles away yet when I got there NO ROTORS. Of course they had some available that were twice the price. Yet instead of apologizing & offering to help me find the disappearing parts, the girl wants to argue with me & tell me I didn't call there, who did I talk to, "why would we say we had them if we didn't"...EXACTLY MY QUESTION. She couldn't be bothered to help me find another store with them in stock - POOR customer service and down right RUDE. I drove to Oceanside O'Reilly's on Coast Highway and had some actual customer service instead of rudeness. SKIP THIS STORE - ALL BAD. I went in to purchase a replacement battery and get my alternator tested because my car kept shutting off in mid February. The manager and one of the store associates went out of their way to test my battery, alternator and starter. Originally I went in opting to drop upwards of $100 to purchase a new battery because something was not working on my car. The store manager went out of his way to not only help me, but got me the right battery and told me the battery I originally had was too small for my car. He not only helped me install the battery, but went out of his way made an exception and allowed me to exchange the battery at no cost because the original battery was still in warranty. Originally i anticipated paying the upgrade cost and he waived it completely. I never expected such amazing service nor having someone who spent nearly 30 minutes with me trying to get my car working properly. I will go out of my way in the future to go see this staff in the future. Whenever i need to purchase parts and put down serious money, I will come see them first. Bravo to them. read more

Incredibly rude. unprofessionally. I was on hold for 11mins before I decide to hang up I call back same person. He tells me he's putting me on hold again then the line disconnects. So he hung up on me. I called back and a girl answers the phone. I ask her about the part I want to purchase. She tellings me they don't have it but I talked to 2 autozones before trying to get the part they both tell me they have the part. So I tell her I was told by 2 different autozones you have the part. First of all let me start out by saying I have been shopping at this store since they opened with no problems. This morning I called the store to inquire about brake pads and rotors for my vehicle. I was told they had them in stock. I dropped off the rotors to be turned. When I went to pick them up I asked for the pads and was told they didn't have them and would have to order them, obviously contradicting what I was told on the phone. I was told they would be in on their morning delivery around 11:00 and would get a call when they arrived. I said to the salesman, "do I need to call you or will you call me?" The salesman said emphatically he would call me. This is where my keen sense of incompetency set in. I returned home and waited until 12:30 for the call I was supposed to get at 11:00. When I called the store back at 12:30 I was told there were no brake pads or even an order for them, an hour and a half after I was told I was going to get a call I find out they didn't order them. The salesman I spoke to at 12:30 called another store to see if they had them. I few moments later the salesman told me he actually had them in stock the whole time. So 4 hours later my vehicle is still apart in my driveway and it's 90 degrees outside. I needed brake fluid and told the salesman they should comp me the $6.99 for the brake fluid. His response was he couldn't do it. His response to the entire mix up was stuff happens. So I paid for the brake fluid and drove straight to my computer. Time is our most precious asset and wasting it is a tragedy. Subsequently I will never shop in this store again. There are numerous stores in town that I will support now. A tragic ending to a relationship that has been going on for years all over a $6.99 bottle of brake fluid. read more
