I had seen people walking out of O Sole Mio with takeout pizza boxes for months while I would go to the Publix next door. I knew I needed to check out this pizza that seemingly everyone loved. I ordered the supreme pizza, which comes with sausage, ham, pepperoni, bacon, meatballs, onions, black olives, mushrooms, and green peppers. They did not skimp on the toppings here! The crust was perfectly crispy and the pizza sauce was flavorful. Overall a very good pizza and about what you would expect in price. With so many other gourmet pizza options to choose from, I am looking forward to trying out O Sole Mio again soon. read more

This place is one of the best Italian places I've had in town! The location is a bit far from where I live, but it's worth the drive. The ambiance is a classy, mom and pop restaurant. The servers and management are very kind and treat customers like family. I went one year for a Valentine's Day dinner and they gave everyone cute desserts! The restaurant can get pretty busy, especially during dinner time and on weekends, so I suggest calling ahead. My favorite dish is the gnocchi O Sole Mio. The sauce is creamy and complements the dish perfectly. It's honestly one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. The dish is served in a giant triangle shaped dish, which I think is really unique. The portions are pretty big, so it usually lasts me two meals. I've never had their pizza or calzones before because I always go back to the gnocchi O Sole Mio, but I definitely want to try them in the future. I can't believe I've never found this hidden gem before. This place is great. My wife ordered the lasagna and I had the vitello combo (veal cutlet, breaded eggplant, and a stuffed shell, stacked). They were good but not great. The chicken franchaise was sort of dull tasting. Every time I have ordered a meal to go it's never packaged well because i always have a puddle of mess soaking through the bottom of the paper bag. They tape down a single napkin over the plasticware making it almost impossible to get off without ripping the napkin & getting frustrated. The penne alla vodka was just ok too. I really hoped this would be a new favorite spot. Maybe I just need to try other meals but so far my experience has been ehhh. read more

So happy that I trusted the reviews about this place as it is truly an awesome restaurant. You may not notice it from outside, but the restaurant is spacious and even has a bar. It's located in a plaza next to publix and other shops and is easy to miss. We were greeted by Jimmy, who, by the way, was our server. For me personally, it was a looong time since I met a caring server like him. He made our experience very special with his on point service and fun humor. The food was a delight. We ordered chicken piccata, seafood linguini, and the ultimate pizza. The cream sauce wasn't so thick and creamy, which made the food feel light, and I could eat more than half even though the portions were big. The pizza had lots of toppings, and the cheese was very tasty as well. We wrapped our lunch with a beautifuly decorated tiramisu, and it was definitely a good choice. We went to O Sole Mio one day when we were craving pasta for lunch. The inside is great and the ambience gives you a true home Italian feel. I ordered the fettuccine and my fiancé ordered the shrimp scampi. We also had a soup that comes with each meal beforehand, which was a delicious Seafood chowder. The service was great; our waiter checked on us often to see how we were doing or if we needed any refills on anything. For those of you curious... yes there is complimentary garlic rolls here!!! They are so mouth-watering good that you might have a hard time stopping to save room for your entree (speaking from personal experience...). I ordered the Penne Alla Vodka and chose a creamy mushroom soup as my side. Both were absolutely delicious. My only critique is that I wish my soup was a bit hotter. My companions and I had dinner at O Sole Mio this evening. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server promptly took our drink order and served us warm garlic knots that were sooooo goooood! My meal began with a seafood chowder which had plenty of seafood and a delicious broth with vegetables. My entree was a special called Salmon Portofino which had a generous portion of perfectly-prepared salmon, shrimp, spinach, cherry tomatoes in a delicious red garlicky sauce over fettuccine. My companions ordered Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp and Gnocchi Bolognese. They were very pleased with their meals as well. Our server Zane was friendly, attentive and helpful. As someone who enjoys real ingredients and quality food, this has been one of my favorites in Florida. The server was kind and talkative (not my cup of tea, but I won't hold that against him, that's how he should be). I had the Chicken Sorrentino and my friend had Marsala. Both dishes were fresh , piping hot , and delicious. Great quality and prepared with pride. Looking around the Stromboli and pizzas looked great too. Place was packed at 6:30 on a Tuesday. What does that tell you ? Owners were gracious. Server attentive. There are 31 pastas (Yes, thirty-one); 18 pizzas (14", 16" & 18", including a Cauliflower Gluten-free crust); 22 pizza toppings; chicken, shrimp, & veal dishes; 11 hot & cold sandwiches; soups & salads; strombolis & calzones; appetizers; desserts (w/ a separate menu); & 7 children's offerings. It's unlikely you'll be unable to find your favorite Italian food on one of the menus. I didn't see meatballs listed in Sides, but I was assured I could order them-- & did! For just $3.99, the meatballs & accompanying sauce were VERY GOOD-- see pic. We sampled so much food! The Lobster Ravioli a la Aragosta (w/ baby shrimp) @ just $16.99 was EXCELLENT, as was the HUGE $13.99 Sicilian Cheese Pizza loaded w/ fresh mozzarella & delicious sauce on a double-baked square crust. I stood & waited @ the hostess stand for far too long; I began to question the sign directing me to wait to be seated. We also had to request a third menu then a third silverware unit & finally a third appetizer plate. The restaurant was not very busy at the time, so I'm unsure why the necessities were not immediately provided. The offering of a To Go cup for my 3/4 full beverage would have been welcomed. Went here with the crew the other night for some Italian food, which is probably a good thing since they are an Italian restaurant. We have been here a number of times before, and really like the place. The wait staff are usually quite pleasant, and a couple of them are downright fun to be around. The interior of the restaurant was expanded a couple of years ago, taking over the space next door and doubling the floor space for their guests, which has really improved the place. They even managed to fit a small bar in there, and I know that it sees regular use. We were seated in the older section of the restaurant, which is rare with our group because the newer section has larger seating areas that can hold more people at a table. We had our drink orders taken and were shortly presented with garlic rolls to munch on while we perused the menu. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara with linguine noodles instead of spaghetti. While they do a fair job with their carbonara, it isn't a true carbonara as they don't use raw egg to make the sauce. Understandable in this litigious world we live in, but I really do prefer the authentic version. Ah well... it is still tasty, but it is really more of a spaghetti alfredo with meat. We took our time eating and talking, the usual kind of thing with our group. It is a relaxing time for us after a week of work, so we tend to take our time. Even after we had finished our meals, paid our checks, and worked our way out the door, we were still sitting around outside on the benches talking and carrying on. I wrote this towards the beginning of the report, but it didn't really fit there... a bit of a sermon about how wait staff should be viewed. You run into the occasional night where they have been hammered and there is a bit of crabbiness, but you can see through that if you look. The key is that you have to look... and that is my recommendation here to anyone going to a restaurant who experiences wait staff that is not meeting expectations... take a breath, relax, and observe. See if this experience is happening because they are unpleasant people, or if they have just had a bad day. It happens. read more

Most all pastas are made fresh as well as the various other ingredients. The first time I ordered based on the General managers recommendation which was Ravioli Di Mare. Freshly made Ravioli stuffed with Lobster - a few shrimp with a nice pink sauce - and a blackened mahi mahi on top. Shockingly, it was better than it sounded and I was drooling from the description he gave alone. I've been back an embarrassing amount since then and will continue to do so. 5/5 read more
