The highlight of our stay in Trenton was dining at OFF THE BEET three times. The food was amazing and the service phenomenal (shoutout to Crystal, Rachel and Mailey (sp?). From the pasta dishes to the chicken entrees to the desserts everything was carefully prepared and delicious. Easy solid five scratch kitchen honey hole we lucked into passing through. They're sort of the unicorn I'm looking for on my fun foodie adventures. There's scratch kitchens and there's scratch kitchens, and rare is the day you'll find one you'll enjoy so much. Superlative food, exemplary warm hospitality. Everything was delicious and enjoyable because the owners obviously Love what they're doing. I'm weak in the knees for that Figgy Piggy flat bread, umn yumn! And who wee ha hoo my steak was so delicious I ate the whole dang thang and everything else on the plate. Amazing local eatery in Trenton, Florida specialising in Mediterranean food with a kick. They also serve fresh homemade pasta and their spin on classic pizza with house made dough. Everything is made in house from Scratch daily with many local ingredients being featured. Every night they have different specials on top of their wonderful staple creations. Features in the old quilt shop the owners really have done a great job taking this old building and giving it new life. They have a full service bar as well featuring many specialty cocktails as well as different desserts changing seasonally. If you're in the area this place is worth a stop- but get there early as they do tend to get busy fast as well as many specialty items selling out fast because everything is made in house. Off The Beet is our go to restaurant for a whole circle of friends. The food, drinks, service and ambiance are all outstanding! Every meal that we have had has been spot on. We are all foodies and really know what we want and have never been disappointed. From appetizers, pizza to entrees they never fail to impress. They have a house made Sangria (red or white) which is my favorite. Desserts feature an ever changing selection of specialty items. If you are looking for something other than prepackaged, run of mill offerings this is your go to destination. Oh the prices are very reasonable and the staff are always welcoming. #1 ordered Mediterranean plates and chicken dry, pita was mushy and thin #2 service was slow but server was very pleasant #3 was seated on patio after a rain and it was chilly. Was not given a choice. #4 water tasted odd, but we are not from the area, we are from a different state, so it might be the normal taste here. #5 the decor inside seemed average, we read that the restaurant was inside an old coco cola plant... it was not recognizable . This is our third visit to Off The Beet. We have had delicious meals every time! Tonight was no exception! I had the special Eggplant Parmesan..Wow!! Our party also had a Medi burger, said it was the best burger ever! Two others had the special shrimp and grits! They were thrilled with it! We started with the Pita Nachos.... OMG! So delicious!!! We ended with peanut butter pie, and white chocolate ganache cheesecake with chocolate gluten-free crust. What!!!!! Just to good for words! Becca Berry was our server. She could not have been better! She took excellent care of us and made great suggestions. Service was second to none! We can't wait to go back again! We drive 35 minutes to visit this restaurant! Well worth it! I so want to love this place and be "the" place. The first few times we went for lunch it was absolutely fabulous! Great food, wonderful service, and a chill ambiance when sitting in the front room. The back room is for large parties and the lighting is weird, no soundproofing so the acoustics are super loud. The last two times we went, it was for dinner. It is not as good as lunch, tbh. Service is fine but sometimes they run out of food after you place the order so the entrees come at different times than those at your table, and you are stuck eating after your party is already done. This last time we went on Friday night and had a reservation. Service was prompt. Drinks were served except one person had to wait an additional 15 min for a beer and I'm not sure why it wasn't brought out with the one glass of wine that was ordered. The food. Hit or miss. Again, the food was brought out one plate at a time. At least 5 minutes between plates. One in our party ordered a rare steak. It came out well done. (Sides were delicious!) Sent back the steak and it came back medium rare at best. Also, it was so tough that it couldn't be cut with the dull, old steak knife. The chef/cook came out and offered to make another which we declined because everyone was already 3/4 way done eating or remove cost from bill. We refused that too as not to punish the kitchen staff. But the steaks are not "melt in your mouth" not are they of high quality. We also ordered the salmon that came out dry and the bottom was charcoal black burnt. The taste of the pasta was very good but again disappointing. The waitress never asked if we wanted more drinks (only one person) and we had to ask for water refills. That said, the chicken dishes were very good, great spices and the pastas are very flavorful. Will I return? Yep. Will I order steak? Never. (The steak was also ordered a previous time or two with the same results.) The breads are fantastic and I highly recommend to get an order or two. Salads are average, pizza is good. I'd like to see a little more quality control of the food before it leaves the kitchen, and the waitress asking patrons to cut into the steaks before just leaving the table only to return after 25 minutes. Also, better steak knives. Re-evaluate where you get your meats. There are quite a few locally owned beef operations that have high quality meat. Looking forward to going back for a nice lunch. :-) read more

We've been here three times since Valentine's Day because we love it so much! Their ribeye is huge and SO tender! I had the filet tonight and it was equally tender and delicious! I can't stop thinking about the homemade peanut butter pie with the Nutter Butter crust...Thank God I live 40 minutes away or I would not be able to resist the temptation to grab a slice whenever I could! Oh my.... This place is amazing. It is family restaurant that is inspired by Mediterranean food. We discovered this on a drive by and looking on yelp and oh my God it is excellent food. Service is so friendly and helpful. We had the owner, Michelle come to our table to see if we are happy with everything and spent time to chat while the restaurant was busy. We always appreciate that. We ordered chicken Geneveas and basil based pizza and we couldn't get enough of them. Also for appetizers we got the chicken tacos on special which was sooooooo delicious. If you pass by Trenton and don't go there, you are missing a lot my friend. I would give it more than 5 star if there was an option and believe me when I say I haven't given 6 starts to anyone yet. I love Mediterranean food, so this place was calling my name. It is wonderful to say I was not disappointed in the least! Everything is made fresh and it shows. I will say the food leans more Moroccan than Greek, but absolutely delish. My husband and I shared a Blue Fig Pig flatbread for appetizer and yowza! It was fantastic! Probably my favorite of the meal. For the main course, I had the Chicken Mediterranean plate and my husband had two steak tacos (not of your Mexican flavor variety...) that is a special on Thursdays. We were both quite full and happy this was our choice for dinner. The owner was very attentive and appreciated us as customers. The waitress was also great and clearly proud to be on this team. Spacious restaurant, not much for ambiance other than roominess, but service was decent. We ordered the labneh 5/5 to share and had the chicken verona 3/5 as my main with a side caesar salad 4/5. The labneh was so good, we had to order another. The cheese was rich and the included 4 garlic knots were not enough to balance the decadence. Had to order extra knots as well. The chicken verona was hyped up by my dining companions but I was left disappointed. The pasta was more well done than preferred and the chicken was still pink in the center. Side Caesar was touted as "possibly the best", but I disagree, it was A-okay! However, entree portions were generous and enough for sharing. Would return for the labneh alone. read more

Went back again just to get the Americano Chicken we had on our last visit and it was just as good as the first time, maybe even better. But we tried the shrimp crostini, shrimp was poached in a basil and garlic butter sauce cooked to Perfection and finished with a balsamic glaze it was amazing. Have to say pretty disappointed in this place tonight. We ordered meatball app at the bar. It took forever to come out and they were cold and dry. We then went to our table to have dinner with our daughter and her boyfriend. We ordered drinks while we looked at the menu. Our daughter ordered first and got the salmon. The rest of us ordered a flatbread, steak and chicken Maria. All food except the salmon came out in a reasonable time. We waited assuming hers was on its way...finally got waitresses attention to find out why the delay. Apparently she forgot to put it, under the guise of a system issue. We are all done, sharing our food with her of course and then her food comes out. We were hopeful they would comp her meal or at least one of her drinks...Nope! Our waitress didn't even come to cash us out. This is not a place worth visiting. No idea of what customer service should be. read more

Been wanting to try this place out for a while now. Came here on Thursday for lunch- didn't even know they were open for lunch ( a plus for us). Walked in and immediately greeted and seated to a lovely room with linen tablecloths and lovely decor. We ordered a quesadilla w/chicken that had a side of potatoes which were to die for, and a Mediterranean chicken plate. Both dishes were superb, fresh,and tasty. Owner/chef came out and asked us if we would be willing to test a new recipe she was trying. Which we obliged and were in heaven. Falafel isn't something we had ever had before so we couldn't compare the recipe- but, I will tell you that those Falafel were amazing and I will be comparing others to Off the Beet's recipe. Simply delish. Lastly, we ordered two desserts. A blackberry cannoli and the peanut butter pie. Both desserts were amazing. I started off with the risotto croquettes and I was pleasantly surprised with the authentic flavor of real San Marzano tomato sauce. A tomato that is often advertised and often not authentic let me tell you Off The Beet has a fantastic authentic sauce. I went with the char grilled Mediterranean chicken fettuccini in a light lemon butter sauce. The fettuccini had to be house made and featured fresh scallions and goat cheese.
