There were 11 of us and we went diving with three nice professional divers. It costs me $150 for a 3-to-4-hour dive and it was an awesome underwater experience. I saw tortoise, sea urchins, beautiful fish, and an octopus. This is my first time diving and I'd definitely recommend this place to friends and families. Very friendly people who provided clear explanations and instructions for first timers. The only bad part was finding the boat, which was unmarked and next to xtreme parasailing. Woohoo! As good as it gets! My fiance (at that time) and I were having a destination wedding in Oahu on 8/7/16. We wanted to have a fun gathering with all our friends before the wedding so everyone can meet and get to know each other. After countless of inquiries, I finally came across Oahu Catamarans. Their pricing was cheap compared to the rest. I worked with the owner Carl Mento, he was responsive with his emails and very accommodating. Its $300/hour with minimum 2 hours. We decided to go for the sunset cruise from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Bring your own Alcohol and Food were allowed...and that's what we did! I hired Island Libations to do our bar services (same vendor for my wedding). Some of our friends brought in snacks. The boat comes with a cooler for the ice and drinks. I purchased the ice for $10 from them. You can plug in music for entertainment, and there is a separate men and women restroom. The boat can hold up to 49 people, we had about 30 people and that was perfect enough to still move around in the boat. Unfortunately, I did not get to meet Carl the day of the cruise. He had 2 of his associates take care of us and they were delightful to be around with. They were funny, laid back, and easy going guys. We sailed along waikiki beach skyline to diamondhead and back. We saw the hawaiian sun set. It was a very fun cruise with drinks, laughter, and great company. We enjoyed every minute of it. This was an unforgettable experience for us and for our wedding guests. This was the best money I spent in Hawaii. I reserved the cat for a two hour cruise for 6 adults and 5 children, (1,3,5,7,11 year old) they had a blast. The Captain(CRASH) was awesome. We motored out to the snorkeling area where sea turtels roam. and snorkeled for 30-45 minutes, we saw a lot of turtles and fish, everyone loved it. After we put up the sails and sailed back to the marina. I think it cost $700 for the 2 hours but like I said it was well worth it to see everyone 110% pleased. They had all the snorkeling equipment available and snacks and drinks. Again highly recommend this company. read more

This was a really great first time experience! The captain (Krash) warned us in the beginning that if we go out into sea and the water is not calm, we'd have to come back. That worried me a little but Mother Nature was on our side that day! Captain Krash was really friendly and explained everything very well for first timers. We got to see several turtles and a lot of fish! Everything was so cool! I got a little sea sick from the boat but everything else was great. The only thing was one of the workers was a little rude. I don't even know why he was there. He didn't seem to do much; he just stood there probably just to watch everyone if there's any problems. But as Krash was explaining that we will be getting complimentary water bottles and snacks, he was also telling us for now we can get water in the back. I guess I didn't hear correctly that the water bottles will be given out after snorkeling (which is completely my fault). So I went in the back and thought the water bottles were in the cooler water dispenser. I saw something on top so I took it off to open the dispenser. That man didn't even tell me to press the button to get water in a cup. He just put his hand out implying for me to give him the little item and as I was opening the top of the water dispenser, he literally slammed it down so aggressively. So rude. He literally said nothing. Just slammed it. Almost hit my hand. I would've understood that I made a mistake if he said it nicely. Only reason I put 4 stars instead of 5. But other than that, everything was such a great experience! First time seeing sea turtles and different types of fish! The captain was super nice and accommodating! My Group and I snorkeled here December 12th 2014, Captain Crash and Glen were awesome guides. They were funny and friendly. We took a short sail over to the turtle sanctuary where numerous sea turtles could be seen just hanging out among schools of triggerfish and other species as well. Glen hangs out in the water with all of us and just fills us in on facts about the area and various species below us. He's there to answer all our questions and whatever else we have to say. The experience itself was awesome, weather and temp of course was nice being Hawaii, our depth was probably 30 feet deepish so you can dive down and get up close to the turtles, it's so tempting to want to grab onto their shells and ride them lol but you can't of course. After snorkeling for sometime we returned to the boat and rinsed off with fresh water, the Captain dropped the sails and cruised back to the dock and provided us with drinks and snacks as we enjoyed a nice sail back with an awesome view. Great experience! We charter the boat for 3 hours we were 30 people. We brought our own music and drinks. The captain take us to snorkeling with turtles we saw a few, a very nice experience! Even though we brought our own snorkeling equipment the captain let us borrow his and help us with ours. After snorkeling we sailed around Diamond Head for another hour and a half and then come back to Ala Moana. We recommend this trip to anyone. If you are a large group it is better to charter the whole boat per hour. When we come back to Oahu we are going to look for the Kahala Kai for sure! read more

To be honest with you, these guys don't even need my two cents. They already have such great reviews on here that adding one more wouldn't do anything but I just really wanted to share my experience of our trip. So we bought this Groupon for the Oahu catamarans to go snorkeling for two and called them to reserve two seats for the next day trip. They have 3 pm snorkeling trips everyday. I was looking up reviews before leaving and was pleasantly surprised of how well people spoke of the crew and the whole experience. I'm someone who does suffer from mild to moderate anxiety and it didn't help that the ocean is one of my biggest fears. The uber ride there I was close to hyperventilating because I was freaking out about what this experience would be. Instantly I was greeted by Sushi (master sea life spotter and boat mascot) which calmed me down pretty quick. Then We met captain Krash who is an amazing person with some really good knowledge about the ocean and the sea life and was very informative about a lot of things. As he started conversing with us while we were waiting for people to show up, I realized this trip was going to be amazing just because of the crew. Captain Krash is one of the most hilarious people you will meet. Once they board everybody, they gave us a safety briefing about the do's and don'ts and let us know that the boat ride is twenty minutes out about a mile off the shore and twenty minutes back and we are in the water for about 1 hour and 15 mins. The crew consists of captain Krash and his two deck hands. Chris is in the water the whole time as he dives and retrieves sea life for you to hold while he takes pictures of you. He also swims around and watches for turtles and tells you where the turtles are so you can follow and track! When we finally got going, sushi the expert turtle spotter barked every time she saw a turtle which was amazing!! When we finally got to the spot, I was extremely nervous and let everybody go ahead of me, I was having trouble getting in the water so I sat on the stairs for a few minutes before captain Krash came and spoke to me and encouraged me to go in. What was so nice was he was so gentle about it and I felt so comfortable with him talking to me! Even before we left, Chris noticed I was anxious about going in the water and he took the time to talk to me about some of the amazing experiences he's had! The experience of being in the water itself was so breathtaking that at one point I honestly thought I would cry. There's a bunch of fish that swim around you and we saw close to 4 sea turtles on reefs getting cleaned - two of which swam up to the surface of where we were swimming. Honestly this was the best thing I have done in my life. If you are anxious like me, please do this little trip! Do not miss out on it whatsoever. When we got back on the boat, both Chris and captain Krash asked how I did and I was surprised of how personal they made my experience, they asked if I was doing okay and talked me through everything. They offer complimentary soda, chips and water on our boat ride back which was great since you will be starving with all the snorkeling! When we get to the docks, we said our thank yous and good byes and captain Krash shook each one of our hands and even said to me that he was proud of me for going in! This is what makes a great experience and makes people want to come back to a business. Trust me, we will be coming back next year just to go out and do this again! read more

There are many catamarans on Waikiki Beach and in the marina that take groups out snorkeling, so at the end of the day it really boils down to the expertise of the crew and the fact that they go the extra mile for their passengers. Thanks to groupon, Ive used them multiple times to take visiting guests on the snorkeling tour and we've had a great experience time each time, lovely staff who are excited to go out of their way to point out whales (in season), sea urchins, octopi, etc. Without the groupon the 2hr tour may be a little pricey, but if youre only visiting Hawaii for a short time, they are a more personal experience I don't think you can get on the larger boats (if that's worth the extra cash to you) We used them also to charter the whole boat for a group of 30 during our wedding. Capt Karl went above and beyond managing our multilingual crew, making it a wonderful experience for everyone. We did the snorkeling with turtles, but also spent some time sailing out in the deeper water and saw both dolphins and whales. Great experience at an even better price. Captain Krash and his dog Sushi were the best! Found this deal on Groupon for a catamaran snorkel tour for 2 people for $80. We were taken to Turtle Canyon and once we arrived, we immediately saw sea turtles coming up for air. The crew provided all the equipment (mask, fins, life vest). Once we had all our equipment on, we jumped into the ocean and saw so many fish and sea turtles. This was my second time doing a sea turtle snorkeling tour. My first time was in Maui for almost double the price and I didn't even get to see any sea turtles, although my husband saw one. The catamaran is pretty small compared to others I've been on so there were not that many people on-board, about 20-25 (positive), however I did get a little sea sick on the way back because you can feel the rocking back and forth a lot more (negative). Overall, Captain Krash was really funny and made this experience really enjoyable. Such an amazing experience being so close to the turtles. I definitely recommend doing a snorkel tour with Oahu Catamarans to see some sea turtles at a great price. read more

I'd say that chartering the catamaran for a sunset cruise was the highlight of my wedding weekend, though the wedding day itself was pretty good too. We saw turtles and plenty of other fish during the snorkeling and also cruised by Waikiki. Cooler and ice, music, and snorkels were provided by the boat (small additional charge for the ice), though I could have brought a playlist if I'd thought of it. We brought boxes of fresh sandwiches, chilled drinks, a towel for each guest, and flowers for them to wear in their hair. Pro tip: you can get inexpensive single plumeria flowers from the lei stands in Chinatown (I went to Pauahi Leis and Flowers) and they'll be easier to wear if you provide bobby pins. This was our best snorkel adventure on Oahu!! Capt. "Krash" and his crew, Chris & Glen really went above & beyond to make sure we all had a great time. We saw a small octopus, and thanks to Chris, had an opportunity to hold it if we wanted. Chris also took underwater photos of our group as well as pix of the green sea turtles and eagle days that we saw. This trip goes out later in the day and there was only one other boat visible in our area vs a trip that goes out earlier where you're competing with divers and other snorkelers for space.
