Went there in December 2024 and did the Complete Island Adventure Tour with Waterfall package. This company takes only a small group at a time (maybe less than 7 or 8 people) for their tours. So if you are looking for an Oahu Island tour that involves only a small group of people in a van (compared to a bus full of people), this is a great option! They would send an email confirmation that contains reminders and useful information to prepare for the tour. We were picked up near our hotel in the morning. We first stopped at Green World Coffee Farm. Had some coffee and muffins. They have a store connected to the coffee shop where they sell shirts and other things. We then went to Waimea Gardens and Waterfall. It was a nice walk/hike to the waterfall where one could see different flowers, trees, and other plants. Next stop was Banzai Pipeline before our lunch at Kahuku where there were so many different delicious options from different food trucks. After lunch, we went to Kualoa Regional Park where the Chinaman's Hat is (Mokoli'i), Byodo-In Temple, and Pali & Makapu'u Lookouts. Last stop was at a Leonard's Bakery food truck which was great since there was not a line to get the malasadas. Andrew, our guide, was amazing! We learned a lot about the island and the places around. He gave us great photo ideas and tips on how to take nice shots. At all stops, he took our photos with our phones and his camera/phone which he later shared with everyone. After the tour, he even shared a list of recommendations for places/things to do in the island. This was a great tour of the island. Highly recommended! read more

Just completed the SUNRISE PHOTO tour and pretty disappointed. Maybe this tour isn't for solo travelers who hope to get nice photo shots of oneself, even confirmed at the beginning of the tour. Throughout the sunrise, guide was entirely focused on a group of 2 (there were also 2 of us who were solo). We basically had to stand around as the others were nicely positioned and beautiful pictures were taken of them at every single area while the sun was rising. I finally had to say something, and the guide tried to make up for it - but way too late... purpose of the tour was for the sunrise shots. Even though I've visited my brother a bunch of times over here, I still feel like I'm missing all the nooks and crannies of Oahu. There's a lot to explore. This is why this full-day 10-hour (5:30am to 3:30pm) tour was perfect. They picked us up at a nearby hotel since we were staying at an Airbnb and took us to a bunch of beautiful locations around Oahu. We did stop by a spot on the way for lunch. The drive was comfortable and it was mainly smooth terrain to walk around. I wore sneakers. Highly recommend this tour. It's worth $159/pp. They also offer half-day, food, and drink tours, and private tours. Overall Service: These guys were outstanding. We were with a group of 7 and they gave us enough time in each area. We never felt rushed and the guide would make his rounds to get to know everyone. Also provided tips to take memorable photos. Did the sunset tour. Andrew is wonderful! Such an awesome tour guide and instructor. I learned many tips and tricks from him using features/tools on my iPhone. He took some very nice photos which he sent to me via airdrop. I thought it was just a tour but it's almost like hiring a personal photographer to be with you on the tour, someone who knows the island quite well and is able to tell you fun facts and take you to some of the most beautiful spots for photos. My friend and I scheduled a private circle photo tour for September 2023. We were a little nervous because the cost was substantially more than if we had joined a group. When we met Mac early in the morning, he introduced himself and described basic parameters about how the day would go. Being a private tour, there is obviously some flexibility about where to go and how long to stay. We told him a little about ourselves, our interests, our likes and dislikes, and he immediately responded with ideas and options. We quickly relaxed when we realized our guide was not a photo newbie and that we liked his personality and the way he was treating us. The day unfolded as perfectly as it could've possibly unfolded. When we decided on the tour, it was more a last minute. Alex was super nice on the phone and guided me through the booking process for the private tour. We wanted it to be special for my mom that has never been to Hawaii before. The Circle Island Tour seemed to be the perfect tour for it. And Alex made it happen. :) June 2nd, Kurt came promptly to Aulani to pick us up for sunrise. It was super early, but his energy was more like energy bunny. We all had a great time, we got some yummy donuts, then 1. stop 1 shooting the Sunset on a beach -- WOW great location amazing pictures by all 2. Light painting - OMG this was a colorful experience and shooting was GREAT 3. We also did more light painting using lit steel wool swirled (safely) on the beach - SPECTACULAR! Luckily I brought my tripod and was shooting 30 second exposures to capture all images. This is a six star experience.....hands down. I took my daughter on the 10 hour trip last Sunday so she could get tips on using her new Nikon. We signed up only the day before and fortunately there were openings. We checked weather before signing up to make sure we had a good day. DJ was a wonderful guide and teacher. He was engaging, knowledgable and patient with all skill levels. He taught different photo techniques at every stop along our route and had fascinating stories along the way. He even pointed out tropical birds, knew the names of the turtles and other animals. Everyone had a fancy camera except I just used my I-phone. DJ had tips for all cameras including my mobile phone. Our trip included sunrise and about a dozen stops around the island including east and north shores. He picked us up on time in a nice and comfortable van early in the morning. There were four of us on the trip plus DJ. We never felt rushed at any stop. We stopped at many interesting beaches, temples and trees along the route. I don't want to ruin it for you as each stop was a new adventure. I recommend the trip early on your stay so you can see the island. Bring your camera and phone. A telephoto lense helps but not required. DJ provides tripod or you can bring your own. Also bring sunscreen, water and wear sneakers or good sturdy shoes. You could pack some sandals for later in the trip. Shorts and a tee shirt are fine. We also stopped for breakfast, lunch and for a Dole whip at the Dole plantation. There were plenty of restroom breaks as well. We paid $170 per person which was with a bargain for the experience. We spent another $20 on food along the way. I highly recommend this excursion to get a great feel of the island plus learn a few techniques along the way. read more

This tour was more intimate in the sense that it was a small group of 6. We were actually running into the big tour groups, but we also had time to slide away and see spots that aren't visited by the public as often. After booking our flight to O'ahu for our honeymoon, I started googling "things to do in O'ahu." I came across O'ahu photography tours. As I read the description for the "Instagram Hawaii Tour" I thought to myself, this is EXACTLY the type of thing i want to do! The tour totally lived up to our expectations and more. Our tour guide, Dee-Jay, is a master of his craft. Not only is he clearly knowledgeable and passionate about photography but also an amazing tour guide. At the end of the day my husband and I talked about how we felt like he was an old friend we were meeting up with to show us around the island. He was extremely friendly and easy to talk to and get along with and talked about whatever we wanted to talk about. We've been in some scenarios on other tours/ in other cities where the guide isn't exactly social and it can get pretty awkward, especially on a smaller/ more intimate tour but that was not the case here at all. We went on a weekday which probably had some of the destinations a little less crowded than the weekend and made for great pictures. Dee-Jay took us all over the island and tailored our route to the things we wanted to see. Note: you do NOT have to be a professional or even a self proclaimed photographer to go on this tour! I am an "iPhone photographer" aka basically all the pictures I take are for social media. I would consider myself pretty experienced when it comes to using my iPhone but Dee-Jay showed me some tips and tricks that enhanced my iPhone photography skills as well as an editing app that i had never heard of before but now have already started using for my vacation photos. We only brought our phones on this tour (not a digital camera or DSLR) and it was definitely sufficient. We were picked up and dropped off to and from our hotel. He didn't need navigation and was familiar with all routes, which made us feel confident. He shared with us fun facts about different places all around the island and took us to cool spots that I know we otherwise would not have found. Clearly he's got the island hospitality thing down! Dee-Jay took pictures of us at each stop and we had a link to the photos before we even got upstairs to our hotel room after getting dropped off! This is a genius business model and we felt like it was absolutely worth the money. I have to admit, when I booked this I was really hoping this wouldn't be something my husband would roll his eyes about, being an "Instagram photography tour" and all, but he had a blast too. There were four of us and our equipment was from professional camera to an iPhone. Alex took us to various beautiful locations and assisted everyone equally. Amazing. Our guide Kurt- delivered well-researched information in a conversation format. I have visited the area for 40 years and I gained new knowledge during this tour. He was easy going and made the day special. In addition Kurt's photography skills were second to none- and he was apply to teach simple concepts to us to enhance our photos. This was one of the best tours I did in Hawaii. There were just 5 of us, so a nice, small group. Everyone was an amateur when it came to photography. We had Galen has our guide. It was amazing! I learned more about Hawaii from him than I had learned from just about anywhere else. He also had lots of suggestions for other things to see, do, and eat. We made several stops throughout the day. We were never rushed. And Galen was great at pointing out good shots, helping each of us learn new things about our cameras, etc. So not only did I learn more about Hawaii, I also learned some new photography tips. And as another bonus, we had an amazing lunch at one of the restaurants I'd been wanting to go to. I just wish I had done this one my first day in Hawaii as opposed to one of my last.
