He brought everything that he needed, including pots, pans, dishes, linens and utensils. He spent the afternoon preparing an 8-course dinner which he served over the course of a two hour dinner. The quality of the meal, including the presentation, were exquisite. We started with champagne and brioche with truffle butter, citrus ginger honey and jalapeño honey. They were all good, but my favorite was the citrus ginger honey. We then had a salt tasting with 4 different flavors of salt, which were left on the table for us to use with our meal. This was followed by a cucumber, tomato and strawberry salad with white balsamic and mint and basil from Chef Joe's garden, which was fresh and refreshing. The next course was shrimp in a teriyaki dipping sauce, followed by fresh fettuccine with butter sauce topped with crushed pistachios. Both were delicious. One of the highlights of the meal was salmon over roasted zucchini with a creamy and lemony bearnaise sauce. Before our main course we cleansed our pallet with a homemade consumme with fresh vegetables, rosemary, sage and lemon. The main course was perfectly presented and was as fabulous as it looked, with potato puree, roasted carrots, filet mignon and a duck/veal glaze. We finished off with Tesoro cookies and tiramisu. My husband loves tiramisu and orders it when we travel - so has had it in Italy, Little Italy and many high end restaurants around the world. He thought Chef Joe's was the best outside of Italy. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and look forward to having Chef Joe and his team out again for another special celebration.

When I read this was a coffee spot and a local general store-like spot, we were in. Upon walking in we were kindly greeted and a quick look at the menu we decided on our iced coffee drinks. I ended up getting an iced mocha and my partner got the Neapolitan style iced part matcha, coffee, and a sweet latte aspect to it too. His drink was way more impressive (looking) than mine but I am not a matcha person so I stuck it out with a classic mocha. The glassware they offer, when staying in to enjoy the drink and ambiance, is super cute and classy. We found a nice cozy spot on the oversized large leather couch near the front entrance. From the couch I was able to get a few pages of writing in as my partner did some reading. I saw several others come in, seemingly regulars, grab their usual and chose a spot at the large community table to sit down to chat with their company and/or read. There are also 3-4 seats, at the barista side, for you to sit in if you are solo. The general store won us over too! I saw so many cute patches, pins, vintage goods, ties, lotions, candles, incense, and books, picture frames, greeting cards, etc. here. There is something special about stopping in here to pick out and buy someone something special here. This should be your spot for finding unique and curated gifts. You can't go wrong here finding something from a baby age to grandmas & grandpas. I got something here for my father for Father's Day (a greeting card and a cool vintage tie). Looking forward to coming back in sometime in the future. This spot is definitely worth a drop in and stay in San Antonio. Parking was easy too (street parking).

Every inch of this place is not only carefully curated but also very clean, keeping the atmosphere cozy with a touch of that vintage feel. Most importantly, it is very queer friendly. I wish I lived closer because I would be a regular here if I did. As for the coffee, I got a cappuccino with almond milk which was foamy and great tasting. Latte are with almond milk is impressive enough; and on a cappuccino at that.

Boiled peanuts. How can so be mething so simple be so mysterious? This very controversial snack…read moremight be common to some people but to the general masses it is something that goes beyond conceptions of what a snack should be. Peanuts are supposed to be hard and crunchy as a snack and thick and gooey as a spread in a sweet sandwich. But the boiled peanut can be so much more! And here at Lil' Red's, it has been taken to an even higher level by adding the triad of different flavors to the spreads. I've had the different flavored nuts in the past, but I believe that the spreads have so much potential--In particular the jalapeño and the red bell pepper. they make a simple addition to your favorite chips or dip-able vegetable. They can also be used as a spread in a vegetarian or vegan sandwich. Or a bean substitute with so much more protein. I can't even envision them in a burrito of some sort. The jalapeño flavored has so much thing and the perfect amount of spiciness. It works so well on its own as a dip. If you'd like something a little more mild than I would recommend the red bell pepper flavor it's has the perfect amount of spiciness and a delicious creamy texture that would make a great addition to any wrap or sandwich. Highly recommended.

They wheel in their bar, all of their supplies (including water) and just require electricity for their grinders/etc! So impressive and professional! Their hot chocolate was decadent and had all the fixings including little chocolate/peppermint dipped sticks. I myself got a dairy-free latte (made with almond milk) and it was DELICIOUS. Tasted better than Starbucks and I couldn't even tell it was dairy-free. Overall, our event lasted 2 hours, served 80+ people, and everyone was blown away by the beverages and professional service provided. Should we ever book another event again I will definitely use Espresso Amore Mio!!

It wasn't busy around 1:30/2 p.m. on a Tuesday, and the service was excellent. I was seated right away with a jug of cold water. I ordered the Thai Iced Tea and it was pleasantly not too sweet. I really appreciate that they have a gluten free sauce available, so most dishes that are not fried can be made gluten free. I tried the Pad Kee Mao and it was delicious. I asked for a 7 out of 10 spice level and it wasn't very spicy, but the spice tray allowed me to add more as needed. The ingredients were fresh and everything was very well prepared; my food took a little while, but it came out piping hot. I enjoyed each bite, and I even had a little left over. They do take reservations and told me they're happy to accommodate large groups--they've had up to 50 people in the past. I came back with a group of 9 total later that night and everyone really enjoyed their meals.

Mashed potatoes were also super. They left us a TON of leftovers to eat and share, AND they allowed us to have self-serve alcohol so we saved on bartending. Many caterers have strict leftovers/alcohol policies so this was doubly appreciated. They also handled our dessert (they offer complementary cake cutting, though we just had cupcakes).

The store itself is very cute with different sections, seating areas, food vendors to select from, and connects to actual restaurants. The mediocre review is for the "Burgers by the Butcher" place towards the end of the store. The Wagyu burger sounded really good and had good reviews, but it was really dry and not very flavorful. Usually Wagyu is known to be juicy and moist, but this tasted nothing like that caliber. It was disappointing but at least not very pricy. Fries were okay but pretty chopped up and not the style I prefer. Some of the other places looked promising like the ice cream and cafe. The poke/ceviche also sounded good on paper but when we walked by (maybe around 1.5-2 hours before closing), the quality of the raw fish didn't look too great and was a little discolored so we passed. The store itself was very cute and had lots of nice and unique products.
