I really wanted to like this place. Seemed hip, slightly younger crowd. I was excited to see wood fired pizza with slow fermented dough and couldn't eat to try it. We had lunch at the new Wellen Park yesterday (opening day, 10/3/23) and everything was absolutely wonderful, especially from our server, Amber! She was absolutely delightful. The quality and selection we've come to love at Oak and Stone stays true at the new location. We went on their first Saturday night open. If you didn't expect to wait at an up and coming area of North Port then you shouldn't have come. The servers were all so nice and helpful. We were seated and had Lexi as our waitress. Me and my family were here last week on a Sunday evening and we had the BEST experience. Our server (Matt?) was extremely attentive and nice and was super quick with our order. As for the food, we got the Clucker Pizza for the table which was amazing. The chicken sandwich wasn't outstanding but still very good and the wings were fine as well. I'm so shocked about this place , we wanted to have a good time and had literally the worst time there, ordered beer and got half of it (bottle ) , we called our server and she said "that's weird, do you want to talk to our manager ?" (Basically making us feel like it was our fault ) , manager comes and we asked to see the footage, she leaves for half and hour comes back telling us it was "defective bottle" , even if it was "defective", when server brings something to the table she doesn't look at it ? And cherry on top of that whole night was bill , they overcharged us 80$!!! I had a wait yesterday to get a seat (for one); waitress was quick in bring a beverage, took the order. Then, it was a short wait for an appetizer, which was tasty. Then, it was a long wait, at least 25 minutes, for the main entree, which never came. The waitress kept me post about 5 times that it was coming out soon. I started to get a little impatient, and when the waitress passed by again, I told her to box it. I paid for the entire bill in advance, as I I was getting cold sitting there so long, and decided to leave without the entree. The waitress said I could wait outside in the sun and she would bring the box out to me. PS. at least another 5-10 minutes went by, she never came out. I was so disgusted, I left. With all the running around by the waiters and waitresses, you would think the service would be better. Sorry I can't give more than one star for this restaurant. read more

What a cool place! Stopped in for dinner with my wife after walking around the lake. *two miles?* We were told the wait time would be 20-25 minutes. So we went upstairs to check out their, "beer wall." One of the very helpful staff showed us how it worked. You're given a wrist band that's tied to a credit card. Then you go to the wall, press your wrist to the tap you wish to try and start pouring! We're both not really beer drinkers but we do LOVE hard cider! They had seven different ones to try! So we tried them all until we hit on one in particular in which we filled up! You've got to be careful with cider. It goes down so smooth & delicious but has the same alcohol content as a regular beer. I was told 20-25 minutes but our table was ready in less than 15. We took our cider downstairs with us as the balance was carried over. We ordered wings with a bourbon sauce and they were epic! I highly recommend! I think the bourbon sauce on an old boot would be delicious! They had a large selection of pizzas that certainly sounded good. Now being from Jersey we know that ordering a pizza in Florida is a dicey situation. So I went with a white pie. I figured it was safer. It had a layer of caramelized onions then ricotta and some mozzarella. The crust was thin and crispy. Personally I prefer thic#k and doughy. Regardless, it was really good! We'll definitely return even if it's just for the wings! Their entire wait staff couldn't have been more helpful and courteous! read more

The variety of beer on the tap walls was amazing and how fun to have a tap wall! So creative. Our server Lee was great and attentive. Then there was the beer guy. I did not catch his name but he was so knowledgeable about all the types on the wall, gave us samples to try and even brought down a sample that he thought I would like in the middle of dinner. We have been to the Wellen Park location a few times, with the most memorable being their soft opening. We dined there last night, and missed the spicy cauliflower that used to be on the appetizer menu. What detracted the most from our visit was the number of pets in the restaurant. As if maneuvering around them wasn't enough, we watched one server repeatedly pet two of them and left us wondering if she washed her hands each time. Traveling from Indiana we stumbled upon this place in the yelp app. This has been the best restaurant experience our whole trip. The service was phenomenal, the food was immaculate. The Beer wall was something very new and it did not disappoint. You use a wristband and pay per ounce similar to tapping a Credit card to pay. Had lunch at Oak & Stone Saturday afternoon. The place was packed and service was slow. Our waiter was not very efficient and we had wait a long time just to get waters and our cocktails. Food was brought out but with no silverware which should have been placed at the table much earlier. We asked for silverware and then watched our waiter service three other table and then he disappeared. I grabbed silverware and napkins off another table that had been cleaned and prepped. Finally our waiter came back with our silverware which he still placed on the table even though we obviously retrieved our own. The food was ok, nothing more than bar food.
