Petting zoo is really cool. Lots of vendors selling overpriced Nick nacks (same stuff you see in most tourist locations). I paid $8.91 for regular sized bottle of Sam Adams and $21 for the worst brisket of my life with potato salad. The brisket was a horrible quality meat that was mostly fat and was very poorly rendered. The rest of it was tough as shoe leather. Myself and 3 others all had the same struggle chewing it. Financial regret. They've got a candy store, make sure you get there early because the line goes way out of the door. The atmosphere is nice in the fall. read more

Thanks to some very effective marketing on Facebook, I finally decided to check out this whole apple picking experience. Since I am a sucker for small animals racing, we decided to start our day here. We were excited to see the piglet races but became frustrated with the event started 20 minutes late. My kid really enjoyed the animal park but they really need a hand washing station outside of the area. We wandered around the shops, taking an adult real so kid could enjoy bounce area, then headed to eat at the restaurant. The wait time was long and hot. The service was busy and not very good. Our waitress really only seemed pleasant when she brought the check and the minimum tip the machine suggests is 18%. The portions were large but we found the food very salty. It would be nice if she they were offering apples slices or something for kids waiting in that insane line. And the parking was nuts. There is definitely inadequate disabled parking available but honestly this place isn't somewhere I would take anyone with physical limitations, as its probably not ADA compliant. That said, their candy / sweet shop is pretty epic. Definitely amazing. read more

I called the location on Wednesday to confirm hours due to differing information on the website and on Yelp. The lady I spoke to told me the hours needed to be updated and apologized for the confusion. I specifically asked if the slide would be open on Thursday, and was told the facility would be open at 9am. I asked again if the slide would be open and was told yes. I confirmed the restaurant would be open at 9 as well. We drove an hour and 40 minutes to get to the facility to find everything closed when we arrived at 9:40am. We walked around and found the restaurant open. I spoke with Terry and explained the situation. She was genuinely sorry that we had driven so far. She called the owner, who apparently the phone number I called leads to. She explained our situation and the owner told her there was some type of misunderstanding, but to please open up the slide for us! A friendly employee named Manuel climbed up and down the slope 3 times to try to get the slide going. He was finally able to get the conveyor working and invited us up. We paid for 3 slides, but he was kind enough to let us keep going as much as we wanted. We were so appreciative of his hard work, especially after seeing him sweat in the morning heat. Manuel invited us to see the petting zoo and walk around the grounds. He informed us there was a trout farm to fish, axe throwing and other games, an area being worked on for "glamping" in the future and pointed out the area where weddings are private events can be booked. What turned out to be a disappointment turned into a nice little visit. Terry was so kind and Manuel really made us feel welcome and appreciated. I jokingly told him he should be promoted as ambassador to the facility because he was so professional, friendly and knowledgeable. We are looking forward to returning during Apple Season and in the winter for some snow sliding! read more

Not having anything to do on my birthday which was on a Tuesday during the week I got the idea to visit Oak Tree village with my family (which is what it was previously called ) remembering fond memories of fishing and the petting zoo. I was surprised to see the drastic changes but a little sad because it doesn't have the same feel to it. It says it's open on the weekdays but it was completely dead and everything was closed other than the petting zoo which seems smaller than it was before..it wasn't much of a petting zoo to be honest. We just ended up walking around for a total of 10 minutes and turned around and left. Would not recommend going on a weekday I'm not sure if I will be back on a weekend to check it out. read more

This place was a lovely and quaint little town which was a great change of scenery from the Bay Area. I was down visiting my family and we went here after a hike. We enjoyed a beautiful view of the mountains while eating sandwiches and seasoned fries at Apple Annies, and the pie we brought home was fresh from the oven and delicious. The candy store carried many of my old favorite treats that I no longer see very often in stores. It was also nice to see the goats at the petting zoo. I am really looking forward to when the features that are currently under construction like the aviary are complete and plan on going back again tomorrow while I am still in the area. The only thing I think should change is that the parrots need more shade and toys to play with. read more

This one was horrible the customer service sucks the prices were way way way too high. We could not justify buying anything in this candy store because of the prices. Nope. Never again. If you've been here in years past and are looking forward to that charming, relaxing fun fall day trip you enjoyed in the past just keep going up the road to other farms. The new generation took over and are attempting to turn it into a glossy, Instagram worthy, corporate feeling amusement park. Everything is run by bored teenagers that don't care. No more outside food or drink. On the weekend the line to get into Apple Annie's in over an hour. Even the line into the bakery is out the door. The cute little candy shop is gone. In its place is a sterile dull candy shop that looks like something you would find in a mall. Some of the artisan shops are still in there but who knows for how much longer. They'll probably raise the rent on them and price them out for something more in line with their new uniform polished look. It's just so sad. Absolutely all of the old charm is dead and gone. Don't worry though. Just up the road there are spots just like the old Oak Glen you remember. I won't mention any in particular just in case you think I'm the owner of another farm trying to steal business. Sad that I can't enjoy Oak Glen at Oak Tree anymore. read more

When I was a kid my dad used to take me and my 2 older siblings to oak tree mountain. I recently brought my lil bros/ and sisters to check out the old stomping grounds. This place was poppin way more than I remember as a kid. All of us were cutting up having a blast. Very nostalgic feelings brought me back to when I was a kid. I was told there was new management. I hadn't been here in years, but we decided to take our youngest here today. The scenery is still beautiful of course, the grounds are cutesy and pretty well maintained. Lunch at Apple Annie's was decent. However, the way the live animals were being kept in the zoo/museum/taxidermy extravaganza was totally inadequate... huge sulcatas in tiny plywood enclosures with very cold environmental temps, bunnies whose cages were too small for breed and obviously hadn't been cleaned recently, birds were completely stressed and a couple were badly plucked, etc. Maybe they needed more taxidermied carcasses in there and were trying to be resourceful? It wasn't a good situation. And to top it off, I'm pregnant and was dying for a candy apple all day. We brought a couple home, pulled out the sticks to cut them, and surprise! read more

Went for a drive to the mountain and drop by at the Village. You expect that the stores would be open on weekends as people go out and see places and it helps tourism for the locals. Always disappointed why they don't keep the place up. The food at the local restaurant are overly priced. So unfortunate i have to give this place 1 star. We took a visit over here for my family and I to walk around and do something different. We drove almost 45 minutes to get here and it was such a waste of time.. We went on Dec 2nd & everything was closed. 3.5/5 Not much to do. It was so underwhelming to realize how small the village truly is. In photos, it looks a lot nicer and bigger than it is in person. There really is nothing to do besides eat apple pie and walk around the vendors. The petting zoo had like one goat while the jumpers aren't that special. The scent of roasted corn and peanuts, as well as almonds, fill the air. Parking can be difficult to figure out, but I'd recommend you park at the back end of Oak Village since there's plenty of space. It's somewhat of a sightseeing destination but I would stick to visiting Snow-Line Ochard instead. read more

Not sure if it's due to a staffing shortage or the fact there is only one person taking orders. The biggest issue for us was the hand pressed apple cider. The guy that worked it (glasses, Indiana Jones hat, smart ass personality) spent most of the time blowing snot rockets and picking his nose. We went from having a bucket full of apples waiting for them to be pressed (for $10 per 16 oz) to dumping them out and walking away out of pure disgust. Definite health code issues there. We stopped by for dinner at Apple Annies after visiting the cider locations and very much enjoyed that they offered a veggie & impossible burger. The outside entertainment area was closed because it was mid week, so we just wandered around to check it out. Everything looked cool until we came across the mini pigs & 3 birds. It was extremely sad to see the state of the birds specifically. Locked in cages with absolutely no toys or form of entertainment. Looked like they threw their food around out of boredom or anxiety & it appears as though at one point they were ripping off the drywall. The 2 large parrots are extremely loud so we felt extra bad for the little grey one. They should adopt out the grey bird & make the the entire shed the parrots enclosure (with toys), so they can actually have a quality of life. The pigs looked healthy and could wander around, but they had no water. We finally found someone who told us the animal people weren't in that day, but that they would get them water...who doesn't show up to give their animals water everyday?? I hope the owners take these suggestions seriously because the bird situation was not okay and if you're not going to take their well-being into consideration then you shouldn't have them. read more

My gf & I went yesterday around 345pm ish and nobody was at petting zoo entrance. We had to find into that new now need to pay at general store or bakery. That would b find except for standing in long line Jvst to get zoo entrance receipt . 1 person & sometimes 2 where at a busy bakery. Really? The one unwelcoming teen said something about they have to call it in to open now. Well we went back to zoo entrance and nobody of course! Went to the Pops and Drops candy store and was so disappointed..first they are cashless so is the owner or mgr too lazy to do banking? Decided to take a drive to for the day with the family to Oak Tree Mountain my in-laws told us about the big slide they have to ride. Knowing my little Miss adventurer child we decided to to give this place a try before flying back home. Place was nice, sun was out, it is summer time so of course it was hot but there was also some breeze to cool down. The ambiance and atmosphere was wonderful the great outdoors with some games, stores, restaurants, bakery, and a small petting zoo possibly 10-15 animals Sheep, deers, pigs, goats and the forest squirrel running around. Beware that the animals may look cute and adorable but they come off as a little too playful or aggressive one goat kept trying to climb on me standing in 2 feet, we tried throwing the food for the goats to eat but they were only interested in the humans lol. The prices was decent and this trip here was a great way to end our family vacation. The employees seemed nice young adults or teenagers, there are also construction going on on the property as well, there was no fishing at this time the ponds were emptied, open stage for singers and plenty of seating/ tables and benches for resting or eating. This place felt so relaxing sitting under an umbrella table, reading all the positive quote signs, listening to the live music that someone was singing, and just taking everything in for what it is, it was all fantastic. The only thing that I was worried about was any wildlife animals appearing out of the bush somewhere. Other than that this place is like a hidden gem that is very enjoyable around town. I had my wedding here a couple of weeks ago. The experience was amazing and the entire staff was incredibly accommodating. They supplied everything we needed and set up the venue exactly how I asked. We bought a $5.00 feed bag and went into the petting zoo to feed the animals. Walking around freely at Your feet are small pigs. They seem harmless but one bite the hell out of my 5 year old daughters leg. She did not feed the pig and the attack was completely unprovoked she was posing for a photo goats. She screamed from pain and I demanded medical attention and a manager. I've never seen people move so slow. They borough out a band aid and ice. My daughters legs was purple and immediately bruised. The skin was crushed and I got very little help from them. Cell service is the best so with very little cell service we were forced to get my daughter to urgent care on our own. An Accident report was filled out, it was literally one line that said leg was bitten. No one ever called me back no follow up!!! read more

OK, First off the makeover is BEAUTIFUL! We loved all the sayings and the building upgrades. I was very underwhelmed buy the lack of little shops now! I understand some may not have survived covid but there is hardly any shops left. They have added some trendy stuff like axe throwing. The hot-dog place got a makeover. Bbq too. When we went Saturday they were sold out of BBQ and the line for Apple Annies was outrageous so we ended up down the road (At A HIDDEN GEM). The line and service for a caramel apple wasn't worth it. So though the property is adorable and beautiful it's just lacking something it used to have. I just don't know if Im excited to go back like I used to be.The charcuterie board guy was the only purchase we made he was so friendly and his work is awesome. read more

I've been coming to Oak Tree Mountain almost every year for the past 20 years. I now bring my own family and children with me and they enjoy it so much. The new playground was a big hit for my kids. We also enjoyed the petting zoo and the pony rides. With the renovations going on, it seems like it's only going to get better. On our most recent trip I unfortunately lost my wallet but with the awesome help of those at Oak Tree Mountain it made its way home to me, blessing me with the gift of not having to go to the DMV. While it was 114 down here in the desert we decided to take a trip with the family up to Oak tree Village and that was a big mistake they advertise open year-round and on weekends and nothing was open the inflatable's we're not inflated the train was not running no one was manning the gate at the petting zoo and it was like three people in the whole village. The only bright spot was Apple Annie's and they're delicious apple pie's if it had not been for that place our trip would've been a total bust.we had more fun visiting Riley's and Los Rios Rancho on the way back to the desert. We had a wonderful family outing at Oak Tree Mountain. The new Mountain slides were a hit! Then we ate yummy food at Common Ground. Best pizza I've ever had and you have to try the chicken sliders! Then went to do the panning for gems and ax therapy. Kids loved the panning for gems! Pops n Drops candy and ice cream was icing on the cake. Also the hot dogs and snow cones were the best. I would drive there for the hot dogs alone much less all the other great food and entertainment. All was very reasonably priced also. read more
