Horrible customer service & they kept my car all day without looking at it. I wish I'd never wasted my time. Don't waste yours. Dishonest

I brought my car in due to an intermittent gear slipping issue, which I had already traced to a solenoid problem--a very common issue with my Pontiac G6. The symptoms only occurred twice, very briefly. My check engine light came on both times but turned off on its own. I was still able to drive the car on the freeway at full speed with no issues. The problem only showed up during city stop-and-go traffic. I specifically asked if they could just replace the solenoid, and was told no. Instead, I was told I "only had gears 1 and 2" and that I'd need a $4,800 transmission rebuild--which is objectively false, as I literally drove the car 70+ mph on the freeway both before and after leaving the shop. My engine light was off before coming to the shop, turned on once at the shop, then turned back off shortly after leaving. There is no way my car had only gears 1 & 2 I know what that feels like as it happened twice briefly. So to say this to me is insane. Mind you wouldn't have been able to go more than 25 with out the car struggling they must have assumed I don't know a thing about cars. Possibly because I'm a woman and I went alone. They also claimed the solenoid was too difficult to access without replacing the computer and warned me about my car's mileage, as if that meant it wasn't worth fixing. But then, on my way out, they admitted it's a "really great car" and "this is the only issue." It felt manipulative. I decided to trust my gut, went to a different shop, and had the solenoid replaced--and now my car runs perfectly fine. No rebuild needed. If I hadn't known what I was talking about, they would've gladly let me spend thousands on a completely unnecessary repair. Trust yourself. Do your research. Don't let fear-based upselling push you into something you don't need. Also from reading the reviews it sounds like the routinely tell their customers they need a rebuild and successfully do the rebuild. (more than likely something very easily replaceable) However a good transmission shop doesn't just rebuild, they properly and honestly diagnose and repair. He also tried selling me cars on the way out. Notice how he hasn't replied to this yelp review and also told me he feels bad for me in the text? Very unprofessional I don't need your pitty I needed honesty which I didn't get from this shop. He also told me don't buy a used car you can't guarantee you won't have problems it's best if you fix this one with us. Also told me not to go to another shop because id want a local shop lol

I asked if I can come in ASAP and the guy I was talking to, I believe his name is Hasib, said to drop by anytime. I came by after work, Friday 4:30PM. I settled on getting one of their already-rebuilt transmissions installed, as long as I give them the current beat-up one that was already on my car, I said yes of course because what will I do with a bad transmission sitting in my garage lol My car was ready Sunday afternoon, ready to go to work for Monday. I've only driven it today, and there is a night and day difference, it feels like a new car! No more slipping accompanied with the screeching grinding...thank god. I've already recommended these to the people at work who have heard how my car used to sound, downside is they only work on Honda's currently, but they did mention once they start growing they will expand into other brands of cars. Will definitely be using them again if myself or family needs work, luckily half our cars are Honda! Really glad I found this shop, I did find out its family owned and operated, a father and his two sons, starting up a business on what they enjoy doing, and doing a Hell of a good job at the same time. Thanks for the help, guys!

I called a few places and the estimate given to me is costing more than the value of my car. I found Pristine Transmission on Craigslist. I spoke to the owner over the phone twice and I visited the shop twice. I was able to meet the owner on my second visit. His name is Rasul. Every review that I read has his name wrong. Rasul explained to me why Honda/Acura transmission would fail after certain mileage. He actually had a few transmissions sitting on the work bench and he explained to me how he rebuilds transmission. I am 100% sold at that time. When I picked up my car, Rasul told me that he replaced one of the engine mount because he noticed the one near the back was crack. He also attempt to rotate the tires but found out all four tires where the inner edge is peeling and advised me to take them back to the tire shop. There is no cost to me for the extra work. I waited two weeks before writing this review. Just want to say - thank you.

After I told him my make and model, he suggested I pick up a replacement headlight bulb just in case and told me to come in anytime--no appointment needed. When I arrived, he immediately came out, had me open the hood, and took a look on the spot. Within less than 3 minutes, he had the new bulb installed and working perfectly. What really stood out was what happened next--I asked how much I owed him, and he told me there was no charge. That level of honesty and kindness is rare these days. John didn't try to upsell me, didn't waste my time, and didn't treat a small job like it wasn't worth his attention. He handled it with professionalism, efficiency, and genuine care. Because of that, Doral Auto Repair has earned my trust. The next time I need any work done on my car, this is exactly where I'm going. Highly recommend.

I was told it would take 2 hours and so I left. I came back after 2 hours and a half and I saw my car parked. Walked inside and I was told "they are still working on it" , weird, I saw it parked not being worked at all. I said I will wait for it and just then I get told the guys are going on break cause they have been working for 5 hours or something. I waited 2 of those hours for my car so I guess I get to wait a few more. I know their time is important but as my only day off I didn't want to spend half my day there so I took my car and left. No apology, no sorry you could not wait, zero. If you do not want to give discounts , easy, don't send coupons. If you had said 3 hours, I would have plan accordingly. I guess I sould look somewhere else. It just felt like they didn't care.

It was like having a new car, but your favorite car, brought back to life. So for that I thank you George. After 6 years my transmission went out again. 100miles from home on a vacation trip. Wife said it was time to buy a new car. So after going to the ford dealership we looked at the 2023 ford explorer, they wanted $52,000 and $775 month for 60months. I was like he'll NO.. I looked up Bryants transmission, the relocated to the East Bay. I called George and was quoted basically the same price i paid 6 years prior. With a new radiator and transmission kit under $4,000. Was way worth it. Better than a new car. Thank you George. You guys go see George at Bryant's transmission. My car was a Honda Pilot 2006. 5 star

If you like deceitful mechanics a shotty work this is the place !…read moreI took a 4x4 in to have gears and carrier installed in front axle, George made a verbal agreement for $2100 When I went to pick up van, George stated on phone that an $200 extra labor cost was added (This was not authorized). I showed up and paid the full amount thinking the job was done professionally. This is when I noticed the ABS light was on. I looked to see if they forgot to plug some thing in, then I noticed the dust seals were not new and one was cut and glued into place to conceal their work. I realized they were trying to cover something up, I then went to the office to point it out to Ed (mechanic) , who admitted that they tried to reset the light. I demanded they fix the problem with the ABS light and left them to it. They did not fix the problem after installing a new part and said I had to go to a specialist to get it fixed. George then wrote in a work order that they would pay to have it fixed. Another shop had to fix the ABS light problem, then I sent the invoice to George at Bryant Transmission Center. They then refused to honor it. I called George to try to work this out, he refused to take any responsibility for misrepresenting his work and additionally installing old and damaged parts. Bottom line is, they did some ok work and some sleezeball stuff that they tried to cover up. I also found out at they weren't licensed on top of everything (by BAR). So lying to customers is their thing, from the fake "ATRA Golden Rule Warranty" on their web page (I checked, they are not a member), to "we didn't damage that", to "we wont pay for our incompetence".
