One thing I really appreciated was that they identified a honey bee colony on my property. Instead of simply treating it, they let me know so I could have the bees safely rehomed before they started producing honey inside my walls. That level of care and attention really stood out. The quarterly exterior treatments have been well worth it for me. Wasps and ants are a recurring issue around my home, so keeping up with regular service has made a big difference. If I have a specific problem between visits, like a wasp nest, they're quick to come out and take care of it. Most of what I need is included in the annual service. Mosquito treatment is an additional charge, but that's separate from the standard plan. I also appreciate that they don't push unnecessary interior treatments when there aren't any issues. Their pricing is competitive, and their payment and scheduling system is excellent. It's easy to manage appointments, and they're very responsive by text whenever I have a question or need service. Overall, I've been very happy with Atex and would definitely recommend them.

I do not see any more termite activity either. So the big question is, was it worth the cost? Well that depends on your finances and whether you can spare the $53+ monthly charge for 4 annual visits. We decided to cancel after a year to cut back on some expenses. And as I mentioned in the previous review, you'll get a text, which gives you the opportunity to also leave review and a tip. Overall, the service did what it was supposed to. They can also come out to do a single treatment which we will keep in mind.

After talking to a few pest companies, not only did they get the species of ants wrong (acrobat vs carpenter) which affects the bait being used, but they also can't get their story straight. I contacted them about an ant infestation inside my home. The technician who came out placed sugar bait inside to eliminate colony. He told me that an exterior treatment was not necessary at that time. I accepted that recommendation, due to potential exposure for my active dog. Months later, I called to follow up because the ant problem had not been resolved. I was then told the $216.50 treatment of simply adding sugar bait for the interior also included exterior treatment during the original visit. That was surprising because I was never told an exterior treatment had been done. When I asked where it had been applied, they did not give me a clear answer regarding the exterior. Paying for another treatment isn't the issue. If the ants require another visit, I'm happy to pay for it. My concern is that the explanation of what was actually done has changed. Now, they're saying I have to pay another $216 for their services again. Something just isn't adding up. If there's a reasonable explanation, I'd like to hear it. Based on the conflicting information, I have little confidence in their service.

Found some bees swarming around the large bush covering our water meter, cable boxes, and electrical box in the front yard. Called around to different companies I found online to price compare and Randy offered one reasonable price for the problem I described. Other companies (like Keith's Bee Removal, which seemed popular on Yelp, said it would be a certain price if the bees were in the water meter, and a higher price if they were elsewhere in the bush....). Plus Randy answered his phone right away: I was sent to many voicemails with other companies that didn't call back, or wanted $50 more for the job, and one company I was talking with: their phone disconnected in the middle of our conversation and I never heard back from them after calling back and texting. When I asked about Randy's time frame, he said the best time to come would be in the evening when the majority of the bees would be returning to the hive, and told us he come out the following evening. (Keith's Bee Removal offered me a 3pm slot....) I was impressed with his knowledge and reasoning and asked if he'd match prices, which Randy agreed to do. He came 15 minutes before his appointment, which in my book, is on time. Took him about an hour to get the job done, and Keith extracted 10 honeycombs!! out of our water meter. My husband I were shocked. Keith estimated the beehive had been there about 2 months. Keith even gave us a bottle of 100% pure local honey and a business card - saying he thought the honey would make a greater impact and he gives them to all of his customers. My husband and I were so impressed with his customer service - and officially won us over with the honey bottle. Plus Keith was pretty nice and patient about my husband watching the whole ordeal and asking a ton of questions (my husband was fascinated). Took a credit card, wrote us an official and professional receipt, and now we are all looking forward to using honey for our morning breakfast tomorrow. Would TOTALLY recommend this company. Local family, 3rd generation keeping the company strong. Professional, on-time, experienced, and Randy is even coming back in a week to check on the hive making sure all is clear. Do yourself a huge favor and call Oakley now if you are perplexed about which company to call. Trust me. I've been through this twice, and I'll only call Oakley again if I need to have another hive relocated. I found Oakley originally through Round Rock Honey. They are one of few companies recommended by them. And, I can see why! I am so appreciative of Randy and his partner for working hard late in the evening to rehome the lovely beehive that moved into one of our eaves a couple of weeks ago. (Side note- This is our second beehive we have had in our year and a half of owning our home. Last year, I hired a different beekeeper. As nice as that guy was, his service paled in comparison to Oakley Bee Removal.) Randy and his partner were awesome!!! They were so incredibly professional, respectful of our time, and he even sent us photos after and answered all of our inane questions. And, on top of all of this... If you need this service, DEFINITELY call Oakley. Randy quoted me over the phone and Samuel came out to do the work. He was on time and very professional. He explained the steps that he would take. Then the "bee whisper" went to work. The fact that the bees were relocated to a new hive and didn't have to be exterminated was also a plus. The original spot was in the eaves of the house. About a week after he'd removed all of the honeycomb, bees and honey, they showed up in a tree in my yard. He explained that they were "lost" and would go away on their own but if they didn't, I could call him back. When they were still there after another week, I called to let him know they were still there. He came by and looked at the site and efficiently and quickly removed them. One of my biggest concerns was my dogs. He assured me on both visits that there was nothing to worry about. read more

Sam quoted us over the phone and stuck to his bid. he and his son work together and are absolutely decent and professional people. they brought the 40 foot ladder and pried open the eave to the roof and removed the bees. they take the bees to their farm. they returned in one week and hammered the eave back together, calked, and repainted. looks fine now. they did what they said, when they said, and were very competent. highly recommend them. read more

They came out, removed the part of the floor where the bees were located. They removed the bees, gave us the honey comb with the sweet, sweet honey. I had a great experience with this beekeeper and highly recommend them. They were easy to…read morecommunicate with and scheduling was simple. When I called, the owner, Keith, answered personally. I explained that honey bees had entered my house through the siding, and after I texted him some photos, he recommended cutting through the drywall from inside the garage instead of opening up the exterior of the house. It made a lot of sense and minimized the impact to the outside. Before opening the wall, Keith explained that they use their own specially blended spray to gently daze the bees, making the removal process safer. He also used a thermal camera to pinpoint the exact location of the hive, which was in my garage ceiling and the wall near the ceiling. They carefully opened the wall, removed the insulation, and took out the entire honey bee hive. Fortunately, there wasn't any honey stored yet, so there was no sticky mess to clean up. After the removal, they nailed the drywall piece back into place, which I really appreciated. I would appreciate it if he took pictures of the hive and the hole in wall before closing. So I only got to post the after picture There were still quite a few bees flying around outside after they finished, but Keith explained that without the hive and the queen, the remaining bees would eventually leave. Sure enough, within two days, they were all gone. Keith was knowledgeable, professional, and took the time to explain everything throughout the process. If you need honey bee removal, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Checked out yelp and saw that ATX seemed to be about bee removal and not upselling. Called them and was given a few useful tips about how to estimate the hive size and age. We have a backyard dog that snaps at flying insects so it helped to gauge the bee aggressiveness and risk factors. I scheduled ATX to come out at their first opportunity which was a few days as it is busy season now. My hive was small and still 'friendly' so an immediate response wasn't paramount. ATX texted before arrival then went right to work when he got here. He located the hive underneath the wood floor of my garden shed using a thermal imaging gun - way cool and allowed him to go directly to the affected spot. He made the cut in the flooring a small as possible and the repair was easy and neat. I was bugging him a little about bee behavior and he had some interesting feedback that showed he knew his business. The queen was captured and put in a portable hive and he left it nearby so as many of her brood as possible could go with her to restart a new hive. After a couple of days he came and picked the portable and there's been no sign of any more stragglers. Since my hive was small and easy access the charge was less than the average. I liked the way this guy handled himself in all respects and would use him again.

The response I received from the owner, Steve, was shocking to say the least. I myself am a business owner that deals with customer service on a daily basis. I will admit that there are certain complaints that I may not necessarily agree with, but I always listen and validate my customers concerns with dignity and respect. The vacuum just stopped working Sunday, so not the absolute problem. Ariel I appreciate you contacting us about this, but you went from "considering" to canceling" in the same email without giving us a chance to explain. First, that you for your business in the past and changing companies is obviously your decision to make. Blake is an excellent tech and does not take short cuts like skipping chemical measurement. We don't charge for the amount of time spent at a pool. Rather we charge for the job. Sometimes it takes 30 minutes to an hour, but more often it tale 10-15 minutes provided the pool has been properly maintained previously. Filter pressure varies by filter type as well as how dirty/clean the filter is. While your filter may read 10 directly after a cleaning the pressure will rise as the filter collects contaminents. The presence of algae would suggest that it is time for a filter cleaning, but it could also be the result of less than optimal circulation. As Blake is paid extra for filter cleaning I am certain he would jump at the chance to make extra money by cleaning yours if needed. I am not sorry that my technician did his job and you did not heed the advice given not only by Blake, but by me as well, to keep toys out of the pool when it is not in use because it might damage your vacuum. If you cowtow to your customers for the sake of a dollar that is your business. I'm backing my people when they have done nothing wrong. I don't know exactly what the comment about catering to customers for a dollar is supposed to reference as I never brought up any concerns about money. All I was hoping to do was inform you about concerns I had with my service. That was an incredibly quick jump to being hateful.
