My husband and I go at least 2 times a month. Their food is so good fish and chips are so good and flavorful. They now have a happy hour on beers. I believe 3 pm to 5 pm and their pizza is amazing and when you ask for extra cheese you get what you ask for. The owner makes soup each day fresh and it is amazing another try. I've been commuting 3-4 hours every day from my home in Oakley to San Jose since they opened, and this place provides WAY better service, food, and ambiance than most restaurants in the Bay Area. I still cannot believe this is one of the few places I can get an inexpensive beer with complimentary soup, and a great full course meal, without feeling guilty about dining out. The owner, almost every time I dine-in with my family, will greet us and ensure our experience is going well. I love the family oriented atmosphere, along with the local vibes and outdoor seating, not to mention the variety of menu options. We need more businesses like Oakley Tavern, and I do hope they can open more locations once people realize how great Oakley is for a place to dine and socialize. This place can only get better and I do hope everyone who visits keeps them to a high standard so my family and I can enjoy them for years to come. My gf and I have come here 3 times and they have been pleasant. Apart from it being optional to tip beforehand, one must consider that you are being served by a waitress throughout your time there. The pizza is good, the burgers are good, yet the wings are okay except that they contained a lot of grease or at least that is what we saw in our two servings of wings in separate plates. Overall, this place has good atmosphere and should be considered for date night or family gathering. My gf and I will be returning here in the future. read more

I took the family for a bike ride today and on the way back we stumbled across Oakley Tavern. The weather was beautiful today so we opted to eat outside. We were promptly greeted and offered drinks to start. We had questions on the menu and we were offered a sample of the vegetable soup (which by the way was delicious). We decided on our food as they have an interesting variety if you are williing to try something new. While we waited on our food we visited the inside of the restaurant and found both the restaurant and the bathrooms very clean. Our server was very nice as was everyone inside. Wow! Pleasantly surprised by this place! Such friendly, welcoming people! They offered us free samples of their veggie soup while we were waiting for our food. The soup was absolutely delicious! My very picky child enjoyed it as well. It had just the right amount of spice. We also ordered their Margarita pizza, Paneer Tikka Masala and Palak Paneer dishes. The food tasted good. The sauce on Tikka masala was not as thick as i like, but it was very flavorful. Overall, we will definitely be back here and explore the rest of their menu! We've lived in the area for over 6 years now and today was our very first time here. I think it might not be as popular because of inconvenient parking, but it's not as bad, and totally worth it! Very good kabobs, hot off the grill! I really loved ghat it came with potato curry, which was so delicous with the naan and the rice. Service is also the best! Everyone from the cashier, the waiter, and even the cook came to greet the diners. It's a great spot for family. The indoors is modern and really clean, and outside has lots of shade and even some nice plants. I have been coming here since I discover this place last year. Great food, with a large variety of dishes from different style of burgers to great pizza. It also has a nice bar for the locals. In my quest for the 'perfect' neighborhood lunch spot, I stumbled upon Oakley Tavern. The second thing that caught my attention (the first being 'Tavern') is an impressive selection of wines and beers. While "Specializing" in a variety of Mediterranean Kabobs, it's equally easy to say they specialize at everything on their entire menu. My first outing I decided to try what I thought would be their 'weakest' dish and easiest to judge, a Classic Cheese Burger. It was amazing! Flavored well and cooked to perfection this juicy burger paired well with the fries, fluffy and crispy at the same time without being over fried. My next foray, I went for the Chapli Kabob Burger & waffle fries as well as the Kabob Combo. Yes, It was for two, I'm not that much of a glutton. The pea curry is tasty with the perfect amount of spice, the tri-tip tender and moist. What's as impressive as the food is the expansive variety of beer & wines. It's not just the variety of draft and bottled beers, it's the price. $3 for bud & Coors, $5 for 'fancy' and I think $6 for fancy bottles. The wine was curated by the owner, traveling from vineyard to vineyard himself, for the choices. ALL of the staff are very friendly and customer oriented. If you visit and one of the 'bosses' doesn't check in on you, I'd be surprised. And, if you're lucky, they'll have fresh cookies that are (sometimes) offered after your meal. Food is good. Very pricey, 25 for a plate with a couple pieces of chicken, Rice, and naan bread. The bread is not good at all, mine was stale, cold and didnt have good flavor. The chicken was very good and the golden rice also though. I asked for a chicken plate with rice and received half chicken half lamb or beef I dont know what it even was. I really like this place. First, it has three distinct menus: Pizza, burgers and kabob. We are not burger eaters but we have had pizza and kabob and all is good. Service is great and the owner makes a point of visiting each table. And then there are the beer prices: $3.99 for a name brand and $2.99 for the ones with no name, just a description such as Hazy double IPA. We live down the street and have been here for almost 2 years and I'm upset we have not tried this place any sooner. Yesterday was our first time and definitely not our last. The restaurant is nice and open and a great atmosphere. It seems there are a few locals who frequent this place for the bar area and televisions, which I do not blame them. The staff is very friendly. Zahir (I believe that's how you spell it) was awesome and friendly. Definitely made us feel welcome and a want to come back with his great service. But of course, the food is HELLA BOMB! My lady got the chopped cheese burger and I had a few bites. Fire. My daughter got the chicken tenders and fries. Fire. I got fish and chips(haven't had them in awhile) and now I want them again. We definitely want to go back and try more of the menu as it all looks so good!
