It's a lovely park where I feel my mom is very safe. It has a nice clubhouse, pool and amenities. I like that they have a guard on duty, as well. The houses are very pretty and look upscale. However, when buying a home, be sure to check all cupboards, drawers and flooring in kitchen to make sure they were installed well with sturdy screws. My mom has had a lot of her cupboard doors and drawers fall apart within the first 3 months of living in the home. The door knobs are the cheapest kind they could possibly have put in, the cover part that attaches to the door is constantly falling off. We have called many times to the new home sales people to have these things fixed and gotten no replies. I have recently called and threatened them with legal action based on our home warranty, so we will see where this goes. read more

The community itself is great, genuinely good people living here. That's where the good news ends, because "management" is a generous term for what the new office is doing, which appears to be nothing. Five years. That's how long we've been on the waitlist for a parking spot, in a community where empty spots sit unused everywhere you look, and visitor parking has never come close to full, not even on holidays. Whatever criteria they're using to manage that list, it isn't math, and it isn't urgency. Ask them a question about the community they're paid to run and you'll get irritation instead of an answer, and silence instead of a timeline. If doing absolutely nothing while acting inconvenienced by your own job were an Olympic event, this office would medal. The in-community staff have picked up the new management's habits well, with one notable exception, who actually seems to remember what the job is. read more

I've lived here for ten years and Scott hendricks is an un ethical person. when you write a email to the owner to explain what's going on in this park with management, he intercepts the emails and answers them for the owner. then the discriminations come in the form of harassment. can't wait for him to leave. If you are colored, have kids, love large breed dogs, if you like your privacy to be invaded in your own home, if you like being said racist slurs, if you like management to constantly harass you on what you can and can not have in your OWN backyard, this place is not for you. Some neighbors are lovely, very sweet and kind. Some neighbors are very racist, anti kids can't stand having kids be kids. The manager Scott GEEZ! He is a complete A-hole very unprofessional, very rude, impossible to talk to, loves to be little people. When you move here they don't fully disclose that management Scott will randomly pop up in your property, no warning, no notice, helps him self to go in your back yard walk your whole property take pictures. If you have outside kid toys- that's a problem If you have tools in a box - that's a problem If you have a storage container- that's a problem If you have dog poop more than 3 poops - that's a problem If your plants are a tiny bit outgrown- that's a problem If you try to do anything I mean absolutely anything to your back yard you need to ask approval. If not - that's a problem My bathroom window is directly to the back yard as I'm getting out of the shower I hear my dogs bark, I put on a towel and guess who I see walking in my backyard management Scott tell me how is this ok? I confronted him telling him that is not ok, his response "you don't tell me how to run my park I do what ever the f** I want" So many people have left and complaint because of him. When I moved in here it was very different. There were a lot of rules but a lot of amenities (I don't mind rules, but these are the kind of rules that typically an old manager enforces out of preference or desire for control not for the benefit of the community, I've never lived in a community with so many nitpicky rules, and I've honestly lived in much nicer maintained places.) Anyways, You pay for the home but you also pay rent for the space & community amenities. However most of the amenities that were once offered that were selling points are no longer available for use, yet you still pay for them. There was a dog park that is now closed for good. There were car washing stations that are now out of use. (2 years now.) If you live here you'll know EVERYONE walks around, and everyone walks dogs, all the trash cans are now gone. It's a 3 mile walk around the community, with no trash cans for your dog poop. So if you enjoy taking a three mile walk with a steaming bag of poop in your hand, this place is for you. The community center is basically unusable, the hours continuously change and lower, I've never lived in a gated community where you don't have 24/7 access to the community gym, pool, bathroom & playground. Strange. In order to use the gym or pool you have to "check in" during useable hours, and give a person the information you've already digitally given. You use your key card to open 2 seperate doors, the technology they use would allow them to see who checked in for what door at what time, yet they still want you to manually go and check in with a person. Which to me just seems like they're being nosy and controlling. Why hire a person to take your information that the system already possess? Probably because the park is run by 80 year old employees and park residents who don't actually understand or know how to use the technology they possess. Some people are so friendly, but there's also a large group of people who live here and have too much time on their hands and think they physically own the park just because they live here, who walk around or drive around all day to nitpick you. An old man once shouted at me for not stopping long enough for his liking at a stop sign(stopped for about 5 seconds), with nobody on either side of it at 8pm. Lol. Coming from a man who probably hasn't driven since the 70's. The park isn't as well maintained over the last few years. Things are dead and dingy. No seating. No amenities. Nothing really worth about an additional 1k monthly to buy a house in this community specifically. Security isn't very professional or nice half of the time. They don't check texts, they're always switching security guards and policies and how they do things, asking for texts/not answering them/ no sending texts/ please text. Community also forces you to register your dog meaning you must have dog licenses and a bunch of honestly BS, but they also don't allow large dogs. I see at least 3/4 German Shepard's, Australian Shepard's, Husksys, labordoodles here a day. I don't think there dogs are registered as they're not allowed, but management will harass you and force you to pay for licensing to keep your 2lb Yorkie who doesn't leave the house. The old crew seems to stroll around the park all day, and find reasons to complain or judge anyone under the age of 60. If you're under 60 and enjoy life, amenities you pay for; (close to an additional 1k extra monthly for limited usage of a small barely functioning rikkity gym that also has 10000 rules associated with its 4 treadmills and Dumbells, and pool (that you can't bring anyone too. I watch my niece during summers and she'd love to go to the pool but isn't allowed to as she doesn't actually live here, and the pool is usually filled with a group of old women who take up the whole pool daily). Everything else is gone.) this place isn't for you. But if you're 60+, don't use anything , and looking for somewhere to die of old age this is probably the place for you. OOO and there's a family here with some awful kids. Don't know who they belong too. But they love to throw rocks at windows, cars, steal things, and break things in your front yard for fun. Steal peoples golf carts. Steal packages. Several car windows have been shattered and windows of homes. They never get caught nor reprimanded. read more

We love it here. Friendly neighbors, beautiful surroundings and quiet streets. We can take our golf cart to the gym, go for a swim after, jump into a hot tub then play some pool afterward. We have two banquet rooms for rental and many events hosted by the Rec club like holiday parties, potlucks every month and movies. There's a library, hobby room, barbecue's on the patio, a playground, tennis, pickle ball & basketball. We have beautiful walk paths inside the park and many hiking trails just outside the community. Everyone has to take care of the land their house is on and the exterior of their home so every house on every block is beautiful! It's a hidden gem in the northern corner of Los Angeles. read more

This place will be your home, but won't be your own home. Most of the people (neighbors) are nice, but the manager SCOTT, geeze there's such to say about him, but I will keep it as he is impossible to deal with and very confrontational. He will tell you one thing then changes his mind and will argue with you about it. Not a very good manager. There's a lot of residents that feel the same way. He will also tell you what you can and cannot have in your own yard and will take pictures. Oakridge is a nice place, but with a manager like Scott who wants to live there and deal with his bad attitude. He adds to your stress. read more

if you value your sleep, your kids sleep, DO NOT move here. We have had construction going on for MONTHS TO NO END on the freeway. They start at 5am, sometimes earlier towards midnight allllllll the way into the afternoon. With windows shut and sound machines on you will still hear the vibrating, clashing of huge rocks, SCREECHING METAL TO METAL BRAKES, not to mention ground being broken up with beyond loud machines that shake your entire house. It will literally jolt you from your sleep, years ago a sound wall was suggested near the freeway and NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT THIS. Now we have a almost year into construction on the freeway, every single day from midnight to the afternoon if we are lucky. Honesty I am super disappointed with management and how they can give no solution to this constant problem, many neighbors agree this is a huge issue. I have lived here for over a decade. The park is fantastic, the manager Scott is horrible and impossible to deal with. He may be actually insane, or so it seems to a lay person. He is extremely confrontational. Be warned!!!!! Most of the people are very nice we wasve to each other as we pass in the car. Some people are just jerks. Such is life. I wish it wasn't the manager. Even on there day off to answer any questions and make time to show the property with our weird work schedule! Scott was so caring and honest, even assuring me, that there is no reason for me to be concerned about snakes. Which I am greatly petrified of! Lol This place is GORGEOUSLY kept up!! Totally safe with a 24 hour guarded gate! And if you love quiet, your going to love it here! Lots of fun activities to do as well! All I can emphasize Scott is completely HONEST and caring! I bought one of the modern homes with a mountain view which is awesome! Our home is very comfortable and cozy and excellent insulation which saves lots on our electrical and gas bill. Neighborhood is extremely safe and secluded by beautiful views everywhere.No regrets it's the Beverly Hills of mobile homes. read more
