Since moving to the Yosemite area from LA I miss good Mexican cooking but got a taste of it today at The Oasis. My husband stops in on his route and raves about the breakfast burritos. (They offer 2 sizes,) Today I visited for the first time and tried the Chile Rellenos. The generously portioned dish was great, perfectly cooked just how I like it! The owner Araceli showed me the cute little park area they're developing right next to the cafe for parties, BBQs etc. She has plans for this corner! Thanks Oasis, I look forward to returning to try more of your delicious food.

Off Highway 140 and Hornitos Rd. In Catheys Valley. A quaint little place in the foothills outside Mariposa. The service was fast and the young lady helping was very polite and attentive. I tried to buy a bottle of water and she said "we have ice water and it's really good" I jumped all over that and aside for saving a buck it was very refreshing. As I sit under shade in the outside dining area a beautiful breeze washes over me. I'm diggin the ambiance..

We had The Oasis cater our wedding and it was absolutely delicious!! We chose to have the taco truck rather than buffet style. I was concerned at first because we had over 80 people attending but everyone was served very quickly and had more than enough time to come back for seconds or thirds We picked tacos and quesadillas, chicken, carne asada and el pastor. Everything was delicious but the El Pastor is my favorite. A wonderful family owned business, check them out!!

What a gem! The place is adorable. Outdoor seating under beautiful shade trees. Service is friendly and willing to improvise and tweak your order to accommodate your desires. Great food in a wonderful setting. Definitely will be back

Chicken and cheese sandwich and small fry. Really good sandwich!

My husband got the fried chicken and cheese sandwich, which was really good. The bacon was smoked and tasted amazing. Good little stop to eat on the way to Yosemite.

The restaurant has an old school vibe where hearty cuts of meat and stiff drinks are plentiful. I had a porterhouse steak which was made perfectly seasoned and as requested, medium rare. One thing that puzzled us a tiny bit was the "specials" appeared to be identical to menu options, but no harm, no foul. The service was very friendly, knowledgable and very well executed. It was accurate and reasonably quick. The food was outstanding. We started with very nice small dinner salads, and the garlic bread brought to the table was well done. We had Chicken Alfredo with Feta, and the Rib Eye Steak. Both were sensational (the chicken benefitted from a squeeze of lemon). The portions were large, and the preparation was perfect. The steak was exactly as ordered, and was the best steak we've had in some time. The chicken was cooked well and the pasta was perfect. The vegetables were great, seasoned and steamed, retaining a bit of crunch. Desert was an event! We had the cheesecake, which was very good, and the chocolate mocha ice cream pie. Oh, my goodness! That pie! It was at least 5" high, and covered a desert plate edge to edge, and it was a coffee and chocolate fantasy with a toffee crust! Out of this world! Simply epic. The only photo we managed was the salad. Everything else we were too busy digging in to! If you're in (or passing through) Mariposa, by all means, go! We certainly will be back.

Great lunch option after doing Zephyr white water rafting!…read more I ate here with my husband for lunch on a Friday around 12:30 PM. Parking was easy to find, but may be challenging if you're not staying at the connected Yosemite Bug Inn and if it's busy. We ordered at the counter and were given a metal number card. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and patient with us as we decided what to order. We enjoyed coconut water and kombucha for our drinks. We didn't wait long for our food to arrive at our table outside. This is what we ordered: * Chocolate cream pie - it was chocolatey with a thin shortbread crust. Just the right amount of sweet for us. * Chipotle chicken quesadilla - I tasted a small piece and thought it was flavorful. They put a generous amount of cheese. * Bombay sandwich - Warm vegetarian sandwich with potatoes and other veg with what tasted like a pesto or vinegar based sauce. The bread was crisp and the sandwich was split in half. I enjoyed it. After tax and tip, we paid a total of $49.93. No pics this time since we were hungry :) We both enjoyed our meal overall and felt like the portions were big and satisfying. I would come back here again on another Yosemite trip!

My husband had the American breakfast one morning and the huevos rancheros the next (no photo of that one). I tried both the Farmer's Breakfast and the American breakfast. They definitely know how to cook their eggs! For dinner, my husband ordered the steak, which could've used a bit more seasoning, while I had the vegan noodle bowl. Both meals came in generous portions. We also shared two beers and an apple pie for dessert, which was absolutely delicious. The service was fine, nothing over the top, but consistent. We noticed it was often the same staff working multiple days. The ambiance was really nice, with a mix of travelers and foreigners since the resort also functions as a hostel. Despite that, the vibe was always calm and welcoming, we never saw a rowdy crowd. Having this café just steps away from our room was such a convenience.

The experience got off to a rough start when we waited five minutes before anyone acknowledged us or told us where to sit. Once seated, we waited an hour for our food. During that time, we learned that multiple menu items were unavailable. Given the long wait, we expected the food to be worth it, but when it finally arrived, much of it was poor quality and not edible. The most upsetting part of the evening was that our children were already tired and hungry from the long wait, and the overall atmosphere became increasingly uncomfortable. Nearby diners began making negative comments about our children, which left everyone feeling upset and unwelcome. After waiting so long and having such a poor experience, we were surprised that we were still charged for food that was largely left uneaten. I understand that restaurants can have difficult nights, staffing shortages, or unexpected issues. It was clear that the staff were going through a hard time. However, between the lack of service, long wait, unavailable menu items, disappointing food, and uncomfortable atmosphere, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences our family has had in a long time. After leaving, we ate at another restaurant in town and mentioned our experience to a local resident who said she had lived in Mariposa for more than 30 years and had repeatedly had negative experiences at Miners'. Hearing that made us feel like our experience may not have been an isolated incident. I hope management takes steps to improve both the customer experience and food quality going forward.
