Unfortunately, we had a horrible experience at Miners'. I stopped in with my three hungry children after a long day of travel. The experience got off to a rough start when we waited five minutes before anyone acknowledged us or told us where to sit. Once seated, we waited an hour for our food. During that time, we learned that multiple menu items were unavailable. Given the long wait, we expected the food to be worth it, but when it finally arrived, much of it was poor quality and not edible. The most upsetting part of the evening was that our children were already tired and hungry from the long wait, and the overall atmosphere became increasingly uncomfortable. Nearby diners began making negative comments about our children, which left everyone feeling upset and unwelcome. After waiting so long and having such a poor experience, we were surprised that we were still charged for food that was largely left uneaten. I understand that restaurants can have difficult nights, staffing shortages, or unexpected issues. It was clear that the staff were going through a hard time. However, between the lack of service, long wait, unavailable menu items, disappointing food, and uncomfortable atmosphere, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences our family has had in a long time. After leaving, we ate at another restaurant in town and mentioned our experience to a local resident who said she had lived in Mariposa for more than 30 years and had repeatedly had negative experiences at Miners'. Hearing that made us feel like our experience may not have been an isolated incident. I hope management takes steps to improve both the customer experience and food quality going forward. read more

Stopped for lunch on a quick trip to mariposa with my neighbor. He has a house up there as well as southern California. Miner's roadhouse is one of his favorite restaurants in mariposa so we had lunch there before flying back to so cal. Western rustic motif and ambiance in line with a casual sit down restaurant. Ordered the Cobb salad and it was solid. Couldn't quite finish it but was too full to continue so I would call it a generous portion. Our servers was polite and efficient checked in with us a few times during our meal. I'd return the next time I am in the mariposa area. read more

My husband, dog and I came here in our way from Yosemite. The burger was huge and perfectly cooked . They have a nice shaded patio that you can sit at with your dog. The salad bar was very fresh and they had a lot of options even cottage cheese and yogurt. They brought my dog out some bacon too! He was so happy! read more

We frequent Miner's Roadhouse 140 whenever we are in Mariposa. We love their well-stocked salad bar which includes homemade soup! The soup changes depending on the day, but we've tried them all from clam chowder to minestrone. They have a solid cheeseburger, great beef stroganoff, and tasty grilled chicken. You can add the salad bar to your meal and that is nice to have as an option. They serve soft drinks in large cups which is nice after a long day of hiking or just walking around. Our service has always been top notch. I mean when there is a crowd anticipate that you'll have to wait but we've never had staff be rude. As far as ambiance goes, this is a diner, not a fine dining establishment. It's a comfortable, family friendly spot with plenty of tables and seating. There aren't tons of frills, but the food is good! read more

On our way out of Mariposa late last night around 8:30. We needed to eat . Saw this cool Place up off the road .it's OPEN ! Let's go in ! Cool Country- Miner vibe going on :) we were seated by Amy, our friendly server . We ordered Some Sodas and ordered our Entrees. We were told it included a trip to the salad bar . Which is always enjoyed ! Hubby and I ordered the Hamburger Steak w/ Mushroom Gravy and Onions . I wanted the Loaded Baked potato. He opted for the Mash potatoes. Our Son had the Spicy Chicken strips w/ a loaded potato. Really tasty food served hot and fast . We enjoyed our meal and had full tummy's for the road trip back home :) I bet they serve Great Breakfast! read more

They advertise the restaurant is open from 5:00-8:00pm. They've been closed 3 out of 4 Tuesdays for breakfast and dinner even though the website says they are open. The bar is open and the bartender is very friendly but could only offer chips. read more

We were were pleased to find this restaurant after our long, lovely drive out of Yosemite. The Tesla supercharger is nearby, but not waling distance. The place is clean and neat, but quite "dated." Our waitress was friendly and helpful to move us because the people next to us were very loud. The design of the ceiling I think contributes to poor acoustics. The food is traditional, satisfying and prompt but nothing special with the exception of the salad bar which is outstanding. Parking is a breeze in the ample parking lot and the bathrooms are clean. read more

This place was really great. We went at about 5 PM on a Tuesday and it wasn't busy at all which was really nice. The waitress was very nice and fast. We ordered the roadhouse sampler platter but subbed chicken tenders for the wings for an extra $3. The food was really yummy and I loved the assortment of foods! It came with chicken fingers, onion rings, french fries, mozzarella sticks (with DELICIOUS marinara to dip), and potato skins. Friends and I stopped in here for breakfast. We accidentally went into the hotel diner area under the same name (different building) which closes at 9:00 a.m. But they pointed us in the right direction. The menu had a good selection of items. On the back there was a "lighter" section of food. This meant you got a smaller portion for a lesser price. I tried the chicken fried steak with hash browns and sourdough toast. All of them were actually pretty good! My buddies got various other items and their food looked good too. Service was a little slow and the prices, like everywhere else, are up. There were a couple flies buzzing around and we constantly had to swat at them to keep them off our food. This place 8s your basic diner...good enough. read more

Delectable! Divine! Delicious! Me and my lovable scamp took a weekend trip up to Yosemite in what would be a harrowing adventure through sleet and storm. Most of our day was spent in a neighboring hotel in beautiful Mariposa until we found this gem across the street. I don't know how it has only 3 stars. We were there no less than three times during our stay! The atmosphere is super cute, giving it a homey and welcoming vibe. The wait staff was very attentive. Now the food, the food was exceptional. The portions were very generous. Their salad bar had a bleu cheese dressing with HUGE bleu cheese crumbles inside. It was a revelation. We made our way to their prime rib special and my mouth has never been the same. I've tried seeking out prime rib since only to be disappointed. Theirs is thick, juicy, and perfectly seasoned with pepper and rosemary. I cannot forget it. They also have an appetizer platter that is lightly fried and breaded to perfection. We were staying in the area over Christmas and were happy to find this place open til 8 PM on Christmas Eve. The decor is dated and dark, but hey, it's a roadhouse/diner. It actually has more of an old-school restaurant feel than roadhouse. We shared an excellent 1/2 lb. burger with sweet potato fries and the lightest onion rings I've ever tasted - and I'm a bit of an onion ring connoisseur. I ate way too many because I couldn't bear to leave them behind. There's an associated bar/lounge with food service and outdoor patio. Not a destination choice, but a good old-fashioned meal at reasonable price, with pleasant servers. read more

We came in from visit in Yosemite on way home to Santa Cruz. French toast, eggs, OMG the sausage was fat and delicious, oatmeal perhaps perfect, and pancakes fluffy and not too. I recommend this spot it's the second time I've been in. It's a dinner spot for too super good. read more

This restaurant has awesome upstairs patio views. They had large portions for after a long day of hiking. We enjoyed our food, wine, and beer. The pizza was cooked perfectly and the fries were hot and crisp.the salad was so-so, but it is a bar. My expectations weren't high for the salad. read more

On our last visit there were five in our party. We were seated pretty quickly, and the server took our order fairly quickly, but... then it took about a half hour to get the food, which, while not bad, definitely weighed in at mediocre. We had a wide variety among the five of us, but nothing stood out. Bottom line is, while not bad, there are better choices in Mariposa. read more

Dirty/dusty all over the establishment (scared to think of what the kitchen looks like where the food is prepared) dead flies all over window sills, plus a ton of huge alive ones flying around, non-existent service. We were in town for a wedding and ordered food to go so we could go back to our hotel and eat and relax. We ordered and the waitress at the front was pretty rude and seemed annoyed we ordered to go. While we waited my husband used the restroom and said there was a pair of underwear on the floor. He let someone at the front know and no one went in to remove it. 3 other people when in/out of the restroom and also complained. The ceiling in the front had a hole and you could see the insulation and then another spot like looked like water damage. Kind of odd for sure. It didn't take too long for the food which was nice but once we got our food back to the hotel (less than 5 minutes) we started eating and we're less than impressed with the flavor. I spent About $29 on an eight ounce salmon dinner that couldn't have been more than about 5.5 ounces, maybe 6, over-cooked, without the promised dinner roll, and VERY SLOW service, so that my drink arrived after I had finished it all. The vegetable serving was squash only, totally over-salted, and the salmon was just plain TOUGH. For 28.95??????????? Are you kidding me? I feel like you guys owe me a proper fish dinner. I've ordered dozens of breakfasts there, given you A LOT OF MY MONEY and this was one of the worst dinners I've ever had. Service was so slow I would've sent it back but I was hungry. I clocked it and the waitress checked our full table about once every 30 minutes even though there were only two other tables in the restaurant when we got there (one with three people, another with two). VERY DISAPPOINTING. Now I know NOT to go there for dinner. What a rip off. (And I, being a decent person, left a decent tip, but the dinner was anything but decent.) read more

Sunday breakfast buffet was not wonderful by any means . Went for the bottomless mimosas with the brunch. Both were mediocre., as was the service. Food was cold and tasteless. To get the special you have to eat in the bar which was packed. Guess unlimited mimosas wins over a very poor brunch. read more
