The food is good. Like being at home. It was comfortable. They were very attentive and they were all very kind. This place made my stay in Mariposa so much more worth it. I love the decoration inside.

This place is incredible! Just an unassuming diner but we had the best burger we have had in years, there at this place where we expected not much! The fries are also astounding as they fry in beef tallow- delish! I had a side salad which I was able to make myself at the well stocked and very fresh salad bar. Reasonable prices and lots of food for the price. Service was excellent as well! What a gem to find in Mariposa on the way to Yosemite! I was blown away by the taste and freshness of the ingredients, not to mention the cleanliness of everything from tables and self serve areas to the restrooms!

First impression: We never heard of this place popped in on 07/12/2025 on the way home. The place was packed, every single table was filled. The place was decently clean and walking inside we were told upfront we are busy orders are taking about 30 minutes or so, which is greatly appreciated. Love the cute little outdoor patio dining area. Friend called asked where I was, I told her I was at Happy Burger. She said the wait is insane there. I responded we were given the option with wait time before we ordered. Order: Corn dog and tater tot's extra crispy. Sourdough bacon burger with fries extra crispy, a soda, a water and ranch. Crispy tater tots: YESSSSSSSSSS greatly appreciated! Corn dog: was super crispy also. I can't stand a mushy corn dog. Hamburger: had great Smokey flavor, sourdough was toasted well with butter, the patty was a decent size. Customer service: it was a little chaotic, they were positively slammed and things happen. A ticket was lost or something and they were trying to figure it out. It was all figured out. Time of our order was 37 minutes. I've never timed before, but was curious when friend said they waited forever. Just out of curiosity! We needed the break from the car and were in need of food. Would we return: Yeah if in the area, but definitely would call order ahead or skip the weekend. Ohhhh and the salad bar was kept very clean, which is hard to do.

I think the service is the best part about this place. The waiter was really nice and made us feel comfortable in the diner right away. The food was also pretty good too. We got the burger and it was juicy.

Stopped here on the way home from Yosemite vacation. Everything is made to order after order was placed but didn't take too long go get our food. Extensive menus to choose from. To our surprise, we enjoyed deep fried green beans! Burgers, Baked Potatoes, Sandwiches, Tacos, you name it - they offer it. The portions were huge. Will definitely stop again should we return to visit Yosemite again.

Yummy burger/diner spot. Was staying in Mariposa for our trip to Yosemite. Was craving a burger and this place really hit the spot. Plenty of seating inside, the walls are decorated with old record covers, it's pretty neat, goes with the old school vibe of the place. I got the guacamole burger. I liked it! Thick cuts of bacon and green chile and a nice layer of guacamole. I also upgraded to the fried zucchini, worth it. Would definitely come back. Service was good. Friendly staff. Small parking lot in front.

If you want a diner vibe - this is the place. Tight booths, a jukebox, and album covers all over the walls. They do sandwiches, burgers, some Mexican food, fried everything, and milkshakes. Their milkshakes are great, as are the regular fries. Perfect amount of crunch! The cold brew was also underrated for sure.

Overall this is a great spot to eat and we would come again! We were on the way up to Yosemite and the spot we were gonna try was closed since it was Monday. Happy Birger Diner has an outdoor patio with umbrellas out front (sorry forgot to take a photo) that we enjoyed with our two dogs. You go inside to order (cash preferred, but credit cards accepted) and they will bring the food out to you. My mom and o shared a BLT and garlic fries...the BLT was delicious and they loaded it with bacon! The fries were way over salted, so we didn't eat much of those. Overall it's a really chill place. The staff were all very friendly and food came out quick.

Pretty good Happy Frappuccino. Tastes very good!

Yummy shakes and great food! We were staying at a nearby hotel on our Yosemite trip and stopped by for dinner. It was a great pitstop when you are in the mood for milkshakes, fries and club sandwiches. The lady at the cashier though was not very friendly, was not as smiling but the waitresses were nice and accommodating. It looks like an all American 80's milkshake shop. It was pretty clean and comfortable.

Upon entering, we immediately noticed how cool and unique the interior was. The walls and ceilings were covered in vintage records, giving the space a nostalgic charm. You can tell this spot has been around for a while and is well loved by locals. The menu was extensive, with something for everyone. During our visit, they were running a 30th Anniversary Special for $14.99, which included their Happy Burger, French fries, and a fountain drink. There were three of us, and we each ordered the special. One burger came with a keto bun substitution and crinkle cut fries instead of the regular fries. It was nice to see that they're accommodating. When our food arrived, we were blown away by the portions. The burgers were huge easily the biggest I've ever ordered and the fries came in a generous serving. The deal was an absolute steal considering the size and quality of the meal. On top of that, their ranch tasted homemade and paired perfectly with the fries. Overall, this place delivered on both value and flavor. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in the area.

Great staff, good vibes type. The location is good. It's a good day trip stop from the central valley.

    My Denver omelette! Yum!

What a truly authentic and delightful diner! It is so clear as soon as you enter that the owners put so much heart, soul and sincere thought into every part of the diner. From offering a10% discount to seniors 55+ and veterans, to every dish being cooked from scratch--they advise you that your food will take between 20-30 minutes to be served--but it is so worth the wait!! They use excellent quality ingredients--I had a Denver omelet and it had real fresh cut cubes of ham and green and red peppers, onions and two cheese. Absolutely delicious! The roasted potatoes were crispy and fresh and the sourdough toast was exceptional. Even the coffee was excellent. Finally, the service was awesome and the staff were super attentive and friendly. I will make a point of coming back many times to come! Thank you!

It's a smaller spot, so expect a wait, but honestly the bar makes it easy to relax while you wait for a table. Everyone was very attentive and polite. When I stayed in Mariposa, I tried their special. A burger with shrimp and sweet potato fries. Definitely different, but it worked surprisingly well and tasted amazing. Also, you HAVE to try the local brews, so get the flight. This place honestly feels like Mariposa's little slice of fancy without trying too hard. I had dessert too, and I can't even remember what it was called... I just remember it was gooooooood.

We parked right at the front with the gravel and got our names put down for two people. The hostess was very nice and gave us a buzzer for when our table would be ready. It took no more than 5 minutes before it buzzed and we got in. The restaurant itself is very cozy and decorated well. We sat at a table that used hanging doors as dividers, which we thought was a neat idea. The lighting was nice, not too bright but also not super dim. Our server told us about some specials and also recommended a few different meals. We took up her offer on fries and went with that. Even though it technically was a shareable, it was a huge serving! The fries were perfectly crunchy with a soft interior. The steak was also really juicy and tender, not too chewy at all. The sauces and cheese mixed in with the fries were also the perfect balance of salty, crunchy goodness. The salmon was deliciously soft and moist. They paired very nicely with the creamy mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. We worked together to just barely finished the salmon and take most of the steak and fries home for leftovers. If you are in the area, I definitely recommend this spot! The quality and amount of food makes the price worth it. If we're ever visiting the area again, we'll definitely stop by 1850!

Charles Street Dinner House, Mariposa: 2026 Mar 12 (4 of 5)…read more Let me start off by saying that we were extremely pleased with the service, thanks to Dillon (who showed genuine rapport), Tomben (his honest opinions) and Amya (who brought me piping hot water in a beautiful mug and teapot). Their friendly, yet professional attitude make this eatery stand out. (5 of 5) This eatery has a vintage feel and historical charm. We felt we could really relax and take our time instead of being rushed to order, eat, then leave. The atmosphere feels rustic, exposing the past. It was a time capsule for folks who enjoyed that era. FOOD: Sauteed Mushroom Soup: The soup arrived with garlic bread. The soup had an earthy, savoury and nutty texture. The rich, velvety mushrooms were bouncy and cooked well, while the umami-packed broth felt comforting. The garlic bread that accompanied the mushroom soup had a perfect balance of textures - heavily buttered, with savoury garlic flavour. The golden-brown, crispy exterior was not overly toasted and the sticks were enhanced with a touch of herbal flavour. (5 of 5) New Zealand Rack of Lamb: This was my order - cooked medium-rare. The perfectly cooked meat was tender - unfortunately lacked seasoning, but a dash of salt brought this to a perfect 5. (5 of 5) I had a choice of potatoes or rice pilaf and made a wrong decision. The rice pilaf looked like baby food, and the fresh red pepper over-powered the entire dish. I tried a small scoop and was disappointed. Needless to say, I couldn't eat another bite of the rice. (1 of 5) My vegetables were mostly cooked well. They had a bit of crunch and texture but not raw. My dinner came with Tomato Soup. The soup tasted nutty and lemony, with a slight heat - and has a good aftertaste. It was silky and smooth, rich, and velvety. (5 of 5) Scallone: Our other order came with onion soup. My dinner partner had the privilege of tasting one of the best scallone years ago and was hoping to bring back great memories of this special dish he loved. This marriage of blending ground abalone and scallops is a savoury dish formed into patties. It is then breaded and lightly pan-fried in butter. The texture is supposed to be tender yet firm. The temperature was perfect but the patty came out almost like a regular pancake. A chunk of fresh red pepper was also thrown in, perhaps for colour, but it overpowered the dish. The pilaf rice was also a no-no. When the server came and asked how we enjoyed the dishes, I had to be blunt and said, "I didn't like the rice". Our server apologized and immediately offered to remove the rice on both plates and asked if we'd like potatoes instead. My partner opted for the baked potato. (5 of 5) The onion soup that accompanied this order was also a fail. Overall, this dinner was a 2 of 5. We were there to celebrate my birthday, so for dessert, we got Coconut Crème Brulee. Even though it wasn't cooked evenly, the light flavour of the coconut did not take over the mild flavour of the crème brulee. A lovely ending to an interesting dinner... and the crème brulee was a birthday treat, on the house. (4 of 5) Would we return? I think we would. I'd like to try other items on the menu because we feel it our privilege to have met some of the nicest staff in an eatery.

Cute restaurant, like a old house transformed, really only smelled like an old house in the tiny narrow bathrooms Service was absolutely fantastic, everyone we interacted with was so lovely. They all seemed to know everyone who was dining there, we were for sure the out of towners. I had a filet with side salad and baked potato. The vegetable side was well seasoned and cooked well. Basic side dish but done so well I ate them all. The thought that went into making my baked potato ready to scoop out was a small thought but I appreciated it! Even my salad was cold, crispy and crunchy. The bread on the table was delicious. My stake was yummy and loved the jus and mushrooms served with them. Hubs had the prime rib, he said it was one of the best ones he had in a long times he had the clam chowder to start and it was super tasty!!! Glad we had my birthday meal here!

We came here because they have vegetarian options and looked like a fairly quick option. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a while. Even though we had bought multiple items and just wanted to eat our sandwiches quickly before getting the staff member at the cafe was so rude we ended up taking our food outside and eating in our car in 103 degree heat. I got the roasted sandwich without cheese and with bacon. The sandwich itself was tasty and the chicken was moist. However, the cost was nearly $8 for half a sandwich, which was very small. Ambiance: the cafe area looked clean and was completely empty. It would have been fine and serviceable. Customer Service: 1 star. We arrived shortly before 3 p.m. and staff rushed us. I asked for three minute to read the menu and the cashier at the cafe said they were closing in two minutes. It was the most unwelcome I've felt at a restaurant in a very long time. There was no one else there, we had already bought multiple things from the cafe and spent over $50 all together and had to eat our sandwiches in the parking lot in 103 F heat. I've been to other establishments and unknowingly shown up near closing time, but usually that can be communicated politely. I regret spending any money here and supporting this business. Taste: 3 stars for the taste, texture and flavor of the chicken sandwich. 2 stars for the farmers market wrap. 3.5 stars for the carrot zucchini cake. Value: 2 stars. Half sandwich was overpriced and very small for the price.

The experience got off to a rough start when we waited five minutes before anyone acknowledged us or told us where to sit. Once seated, we waited an hour for our food. During that time, we learned that multiple menu items were unavailable. Given the long wait, we expected the food to be worth it, but when it finally arrived, much of it was poor quality and not edible. The most upsetting part of the evening was that our children were already tired and hungry from the long wait, and the overall atmosphere became increasingly uncomfortable. Nearby diners began making negative comments about our children, which left everyone feeling upset and unwelcome. After waiting so long and having such a poor experience, we were surprised that we were still charged for food that was largely left uneaten. I understand that restaurants can have difficult nights, staffing shortages, or unexpected issues. It was clear that the staff were going through a hard time. However, between the lack of service, long wait, unavailable menu items, disappointing food, and uncomfortable atmosphere, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences our family has had in a long time. After leaving, we ate at another restaurant in town and mentioned our experience to a local resident who said she had lived in Mariposa for more than 30 years and had repeatedly had negative experiences at Miners'. Hearing that made us feel like our experience may not have been an isolated incident. I hope management takes steps to improve both the customer experience and food quality going forward.
