My husband and I came here two consecutive days during our visit to Stillwater, once for breakfast and once for lunch. There was a wait both occasions, but the gentleman taking names was so personable and provided drinks while you waited. I loved that he takes down your favorite cartoon character instead of your name. The staff was so nice and the food was very tasty. The portions were very big and just what we needed after a night out. I enjoyed the Mexican haystack and the Chipotle burger. Both were excellent, the chipotle burger was a little spicy for me. Overall we had an excellent experience both times and we will dine here again the next time we are in Stillwater. read more

The food was great and tasty with good portions, cooked they way I requested. I had the Chainsaw Chicken. It is hand breaded chicken sandwich the breading is Capt Crunch and corn flakes cereal. Very crunchy, and very tasty. The other tastes blended together. For example, the bleu cheese was not overwhelming. It was topped with a ciabatta roll that was chewy and held all the parts together. Our group also had the Chipotle burger. The burger was tasty on its own. The added avocado and chipotle and extras were a nice complement. The french fries were crispy like old time fries. Service was quick and friendly. However, it does get busy at the normal times. This is not a hidden gem, it is well known. Im looking forward to the breakfast items. A friend referred me to Oasis for breakfast. It's only July but I think that the Oasis is going to win my burger of the year award. Absolutely fabulous burger! I had the "Hangover". Big hand formed patty (juicy, and tastes like beef!), a layer of hashbrowns, melted cheese, bacon, perfectly cooked over easy egg, and hollandaise sauce! I get mine with raw onion. Fries were super. All for 9.95. My boy had the kids meal and the burger was the same size as the adult meal. He loved it! 5.00. My other son had the classic burger with fries and loved it. Our friends had the cowboy and the bacon bleu cheese and loved them. Everyone left full and really satisfied. I can't say that happens often. Easy going UB40/carribean music in the background. Wait staff was super helpful. I went on a Monday at 1:30pm and there was still a wait if we wanted an indoor seat but we actually wanted the patio so it worked out great. I'm going to make an educated guess: Our orders were super fresh and well detailed since we were not there at peak hours. Big sign says "Voted the best burger in Stillwater". I dare say, one of the best in the twin cities! The food is excellent! Update: 7 28/17. I couldn't stay away so I went back. I had the peanut butter burger: Bacon, pepper jack, chunky peanut butter, mayo. Verdict: Excellent! UPdates: had the portabella burger. Was really good but not my fav. Had the hangover breakfast sandwich. The croissant tasted like it came from a local artisan bakery. Fresh, light, flakey. The sandwich was really good and the hashbrowns were perfect. Another hit. I've never been let down at this place as far as the food goes. It's always so busy that the poor wait staff seem chronically stressed. I always wish they'd make me feel a bit more welcome since I'm going to keep coming for the food over and over again. It would be nice to have an excellent "overall" experience. The old Bait shop on the south end of the cafe has been renovated and turned into a pub. This has also expanded the seating area which is nice. It's aptly called "The Bait Shop". After driving by so many times, we stopped for breakfast on a mid-morning Monday -- easy parking, and acquiring a choice of tables at that hour! Cute setting and classic American decor, and while the tables/booths are a bit crowded, the neighbors are all friendly just like the servers. Everything is made from scratch, so the food is good. We had the omelets, which were packed full, and the hash browns are nice and crunchy. Unlimited refills on sodas, and they were quick to keep our glasses full. That said, our breakfast was just okay considering it came to $36 with the tip. If you are just going for breakfast, it is hard to beat the Main Cafe which is right downtown. We'll have to try lunch there sometime and give that a fair shake. read more

Was going to try the peanut butter burger because it seemed unique and was completely off put by the staff having a several minute long conversation with each other about how much they disliked that burger specifically. One gentleman that we, thankfully, didn't have to interact with had nothing but negative things to say about his customers (calling them bitches and dumbasses) and the food (mostly led the conversation about the burger). First time to this local hangout. Went for breakfast and ordered breakfast burrito and huevos rancheros. Both excellent! There was this green sauce on both meals that was out of this world delicious. Service was prompt, friendly and attentive. Refills were done without asking, which is so appreciative. Atmosphere was bustling and energetic. Lots to choose from, but I settled on my old stand by ; eggs Benedict. Glad I did. It was good. I loved the thickness of the ham. It was super hearty, the eggs were perfect and so was the hollendaise. Wanted the hashbrowns, but opted for the fresh fruit which was good, too. Melon, grapes, pineapple, apples. We originally drove by on our way back to Wisconsin and couldn't believe that we happened to discover such a gem of a place! The establishment is clean and smartly decorated. It's quaint and adorable. But the best part about this place is the food. The menu is incredible. It took us a while to decide because everything sounded so good. We visited for breakfast and each ordered a different meal: Prime Rib Hash, Huervos Rancheros, and Classic Ham Eggs Benedict. Every dish came out hot, fresh, and tasted incredible. Been coming here for years. During Covid would order takeout once a week and drive from New Richmond to pick it up to help keep restaurants going. Food is good! My 2 friends and I met there on Sunday morning for breakfast. (I had been wanting them to try it since I considered it a good breakfast place) I have been telling everyone about Oasis for years. I arrived first and could not be seated until my two friends came- I thought that was strange but okay. The other two came and we were seated. Had a nice waiter! Young kid and really nice! We ordered and the food came out. It was very good. We finished breakfast and asked to have more coffee. We were served the coffee and also brought our bill. We paid bill and continued to visit a few more minutes and out of no where a man comes to our table and starts cleaning it off and says we are busy. (We thought he was just helping buss tables) and we started to visit again.Less than two minutes later he comes back and says" You have been here long enough and we are busy " we were stunned. My one friend walked out immediately embarrassed. Myself and my other friend were right behind her. I was so embarrassed and felt terrible. We were engaged in our conversation and didn't pay any attention to the line at door. There was probably 6 people in line. Regardless, in all my years I never have been treated this way and when we were leaving, a patron at the next table said "I am sorry" and was shaking their head like they were also taken aback. I felt I had to write this because I hope they adjust the rudeness so others don't feel this way. It would've been better if he wasn't so rude!! We were there a total of 1 hour and 20 minutes. Maybe they should put a sign on door that says "if you plan on staying over 45 minutes- go elsewhere". I love this place. When I think breakfast in Stillwater this is the place I crave. I don't want this review to scare anyone away from coming here because trust me, it's worth it. Unfortunately I didn't get the best service on Sunday, the waitress was really nice and attentive, but the cooking staff didn't only mess up my order once but they messed it up a second time. It's pretty disappointing to walk into a breakfast place that I rave about and go to when I get breakfast (which is not that often anymore) and get sausage in my breakfast burrito twice. The banana bread French toast was excellent though! For our anniversary we decided to venture out of St. Paul and go hiking along the St. Croix. We were glad that Oasis is taking COVID-19 seriously. They have hand sanitizer at the door, all the staff were wearing masks, and the tables outside were spaced well apart. We got a fantastic BLT and a pretty good chipotle burger with sides a extra crispy fries and tots. Both of us were stuffed, no need for dinner tonight, and had to nap afterwards. The servers all were working hard and weren't standing around. The guy I believe to be the owner wasn't standing around. He walked from table to to table playing tic tac toe with kids. Pretty sweet. Once we were seated our served promptly greeted us and we ordered our drinks. When we ordered our server offered his own suggestions and they were great! I had the crackling chicken? I can't remember the name. But boy, what a unique sandwich! Raspberry jam, arugula,bacon and a blue cheese on a ciabatta bun. So tasty! A bit messy, but totally worth it. My husband had the jalapeño burger with ghost pepper chz and didn't leave a drop. He loves the spice and said it was flavorful, not just heat. Kids each had a cheese burger. They looked like solid burgers. I can't wait to go back and try something else on the menu. My dad recommended the oasis and his fave is the Korean BBQ tacos. The whole menu looked tasty. If you haven't yet tried this hold in the wall (literally) You need to give it a chance. A hidden gem off the beaten path. The Oasis has really made a comeback. My son took me to belated Fathers Day breakfast on Thursday, 06/21/18. I had the Cinnamon Nutmeg Pancake (delicious!) and link sausages (sausages were nothing to write home about). The coffee was good. The down-side is that the acoustics are horrible! We were seated at a very small table, and could hardly hear each other. And the place wasn't even crowded.
