Have been going here for a while with generally good massages , but today's experience , my first after their price hike recently , was certainly a bit off putting and galling. The price hike is NOT my problem , but is relevant as you'll see in a minute. I had a 1 hour /$50 massage and tipped $16-17 .. this came to $70 total with cc fees . I got confronted uncomfortably after about "did I not like the service? , and I could get someone else next time , because you usually tip me $20+!" . 1) I do not understand how a 32% tip of $17 isn't enough to hold your tongue, even if it was less than my usual tip of $20. Accept it is wha it is and move on. Confronting a customer on a tip is straight up rude. 2) I rounded up to a total cost of $70 or so , and because of the pricing increase I didn't notice initially, I guess I didn't give my "regular" expected tip as part of the total. 3) the suggested tip at the time very clearly posted (a little awkwardly too ..) was $14 .. which I was clearly above. I wasn't even at the bottom of the minimum expectation. Complaining about a tip from a reliable repeat customer who's never been cheap, what the heck? I would've said this place was 4-5 stars outside of this experience but I found this whole thing very frustrating and rather ruined my day. So I wait til morning to write this review. I got the best massage of my life last night. I am a trans woman of over six feet. I've done sports, martial arts, and lived active most of my life. This massage found aches and pains I didn't even know I had. The provider was responsive, purposeful, and excellent with consent. For my fellow motorcycle enthusiasts, this felt like a master tune up on me! The signage at welcome/checkout clearly sets expectations on tipping as typically 20% and totally optional. I greatly appreciated this as a neurodivergent woman, but imagine my confusion when pressured for more after already exceeding the posted expectation (at standard not discount rate). This place is amazing! I don't know how they manage to keep their prices so low, when you go do not be stingy with your tips for the masseuse because they are putting in work! I carry all of stress in my neck and shoulders and recently I've been extremely stressed out to the point where I knew, I had to do something to keep it from getting worse. So I made an appointment yesterday wanting to get some relief before starting another stressful work week. I called up to see if they had any appointments and thankfully they had something the same day that evening. I was asked to fill out an intake form, pretty basic asking when my last massage was frequency of exercise, and any areas that I wanted them to focus on or avoid. When I arrived, I was greeted and shown my intake, visual of areas I highlighted to focus on, confirming that they had seen and acknowledged my intake requests. I was a little nervous about trying a new place and especially with my neck, already bothering me, but my nerves were quickly put at ease. This place was very clean and neat. When the massage first started my masseuse checked in with me about the pressure multiple times which I really appreciated. She indeed focused in on the areas that I needed in my neck and shoulders. She immediately noticed how tight my neck and shoulders were, and again checking in throughout the massage with the pressure I was very pleased. She asked if I wanted hot stones to which I said yes. I must've been the last appointment for the evening because she also asked me if I wanted to extend to a 90 minute massage (I had booked an hour). I asked how much and she said it would be an additional $20, my answer was a very quick, yes! Keep in mind I felt no pressure to say yes I could've easily said no but the massage was so good and for another $20 it definitely felt worth it. I'm writing this review the morning after my massage. Yesterday before my appointment, I was very stiff and my shoulders were tense. Today I feel a noticeable difference and am able to stretch and move my head with less discomfort. I definitely have more mobility and my shoulders are definitely less tense than they were before the massage. I expect to feel even better tomorrow. I left feeling violated and will not be returning. I ordered a couples massage and while on the table my masseuse was too hard with her massage. I kept asking for lighter pressure because my body is very sensitive and she'd laugh. Then after working my back she moved the sheets off my bottom and pulled my underwear off while working my glutes. I was very nervous about this because I'm not comfortable with that, and I felt violated. But I said nothing and just let her finish her massage. I then wondered what they were doing with my boyfriend right next to me, but he said it was a normal massage and nothing inappropriate. When we left we saw the sign about tipping and while we used the ATM, we paid in 20's and were $2 short of the recommendation. We gave another $20 and asked for change but they acted confused so we just left, clearly over paying. I've never had a masseuse do that before and when talking to others about this experience, it became clear this was not normal. A friend of mine who's a masseuse in CT said what she did removing my clothes was unnessesary and illegal in CT but wasn't sure what MA laws were. I am not taking further actions but I felt I needed to share this unpleasant experience so that others who are not comfortable with full exposure are aware. We will not be going back. read more

I won't be coming back, and today I wish I hadn't gone. I anticipated receiving a Swedish massage, as I had indicated I wanted upon booking, but instead got a deep tissue massage. The pressure was SO hard, and am bruised today. I could not sleep on my back last night, and even having my shoulders touched hurts badly. I understand that deep tissue massages are intended to really work muscle, but I should not be in this kind of pain. What upset me at the time was an issue with tipping. As soon as you walk in there is a sign with appropriate tips listed based upon the service you receive. When paying, there were three women at the desk. I paid in cash and messed up in my calculations, and accidentally gave one of the massage therapists less than what was listed. They jumped down my throat about how little money it was. Came here for the first time during a weekend. Scheduled my appointment online. Total was $39.99 and paid $50 cash. What's Hot - Price. For $40/hr, it's the lowest price in the area that I've come across! - Quality. My masseuse was Alice. Pretty good pressure. She used her forearm and her elbow on some spots. She wasn't hesitant in applying a good amount of pressure, which I appreciated. She massaged the back crown of my head and neck. When I was lying on my back, she also massaged pressure points around my face and temples. When I was lying on my front, she brushed her fingers up my scalp, as well. I always enjoy massaging pressure points on my head, because it helps relieve tension and helps me relax. She was good in relieving the tension in my body. At the end of the massage, she twisted my body a couple of ways, which relieved some knots. - Location. Convenient location in town in Waltham. Easy to find and there is street parking that can be accessible. However, whether you can find street parking depends on the day and time. - Website. Easy booking system online, which is helpful. - Health and safety. During this time of the pandemic, their staff wore masks. No one took my temperature, as noted in prior reviews, but it's probably because we're in year 1.5 of the pandemic. I wore a mask during my massage, as did Alice. What's Not - Quality. There were parts of the massage, where she massaged me using the sheet that was covering me. That was a bit uncomfortable. She also massaged me very quickly. I got the full hour that I paid for, but the pace of her massage was fast and sometimes felt frantic. For me, massages are supposed to be relaxing and an opportunity for me to focus on the present and breath slowly. This wasn't slow and relaxing. I didn't say anything, because she applied excellent pressure and found my problem spots, which I definitely appreciated. At the beginning of the massage, she squirted the massage oil directly on my back, rather than on her hands and then massaging it into my skin. The coldness of the oil on my back caught me off guard and wasn't very comfortable. Not a bad quality massage, but I've had better. - Parking. There is street parking, but be prepared that there may not always be something available, especially in the nearby neighborhoods. It's a very full area, so be prepared to park a little farther and then walk. - Lack of communication. To begin with, I didn't have much time to undress and get on the massage table. I'm all for being time-efficient, but when she knocked to let me know she was ready, she didn't give me any time to respond that I needed her to wait another second or two. She also didn't ask me whether I had any problem areas that I would like to focus on. - Payment method. Their preferred payment method is cash. If you pay via credit card, they charge a fee, which I don't like. Other reviews said you may have to go to a nearby ATM in order to get cash, which is also inconvenient. I made sure to bring cash, but it's annoying that they have a convenient method of booking a massage, but add inconveniences to pay. Final Answer Not bad, but I've had better. Even after paying 30% tip, she still gave me a hard time that I did not pay enough tips. My masseuse had to walk out of my appointment to help the lady at the front desk deal with another customer, I understood because translation/communication can be difficult. Massage was $40 each, which is a great price but they will guilt you if you leave a $12 tip, even though they have a sign on the register that suggests that amount & even though that tip is well over 20% & even though they said they only take cash.
