But after getting gel nails at a dozen or more nail salons in DC and now Arlington, I did not think that it would cost $38! Fast, Clean, friendly, and gel manis stay on much longer than any others I have ever tried!!!It is also very easy to access. Free wine, coffee, tea and water...but it is a bit expensive ($38 for a gel mani!?) and they do not take tips on CC & or amex - however, they made a exception for me my first time there and took my Amex - which was great! Not taking amex is pretty typical for this area w/ small businesses - but definitely an inconvenience. I'd be happy to pay the transaction fees to use my Amex. read more

I was in town with my daughter and decided to give this salon a try regardless of the #s of stars they had. It was a very nicely decorated and maintained salon and the time we went, Saturday around 11am, they were pretty busy. As we walked in, we did get a somewhat "shyish" Hello and were told to sign in. As we did, we were not told the amount of time we had to wait which bothered me just a bit. We did end up waiting for about 30 min. Then i could see them putting effort to accommodate me and my daughter close by each other-my daughter is 9. We both ended up with a very caring ladies who did our nails beautifully. Most of them spoke the language well and we could see the effort that they were putting to each customers. The price was super reasonable too. If I do come by this part of the city, I'll defiantly come back to seek their service. read more

This place is no doubt the best in the area. I live in Clarendon and have given most of the nail salons around here a try, and Oasis has now become my go-to! I generally get gel manicures and pedicures. The gel I get there ALWAYS lasts 2-3 weeks--No chips or anything! They have a huge selection of colors!! The people who work there are the friendliest group of people It's really the best! V, T, Andrew, Cindy, and Tiffanie are too nice and always do a great job. It's priced well too. I went for a pedicure this morning and the technician asked if she could cut my toenails. I said okay but just to make sure that they were cut straight so that I did not have to worry about in grown toenails. Next thing I know the edges/sides of all my big toenails have been severely cut down to the point where I can almost guarantee that I will have an issue. She did a terrible job. I had an awful experience twice now. Once I went for a massage and left feeling worse than when I came in. I actually had a bruise from him pushing so hard. I used to work at a massage place as a receptionist so I know what a good massage is. He never once asked what pressure and no part of the massage was enjoyable. I just went for a manicure and it was a disaster of an appointment. I have had acrylic nails for a long time now so I know what a proper manicure consists of. When not the entire nail is broken, you do not need to pull the ENTIRE nail off and see me squirm in pain in my seat. Not to mention, yank it when you cant get it and make my finger/nail BLEED. Didn't clean it off or ask if I'm okay NOTHING!!! So rude and impolite. Mocked me when I asked to make my nails shorter. I will never go back to this place. the staff is horrendous. I will NEVER come back to this place and do not recommend anyone else go here either. I decided to give this place a try because I was getting wax services at European Wax Center and it's right next door. Big mistake. I tend not to say much during pedicures because that's just me, but I pay attention to what's being done. For $33, I got a weak massage with nonchalant scrubbing on my feet while the technician chatted in another language and answered her phone. That's not what really irritated me though. After the technician finished, she directed me where to sit to let the pedi dry. She then asks me about payment. I give her my credit card, and when she brings the receipt back, I notice there's no slot to write a tip in. I ask her about it and she informs me that they only accept cash tips. I groan inwardly because I never carry cash but what she did outwardly was appalling. She says they only accept cash, and "the atm is in the back." I nod and stay right where I am because I don't want to mess up my toes and make her do them all over again. She walks over to the front desk and starts talking loudly, and you can tell she's complaining. I wait until my toes are dry, about 10 minutes later, when other guests are being sprayed with some drying spray. I look around wondering where the technician has gone, to see if she will also spray my toes. She's nowhere to be found. So I test them myself, they're dry. Then I ask another technician where the ATM is. "Oh! You want to tip? She left already!" Excuse me? So because you got the impression that I might not tip, you not only leave the job unfinished, you complain to your coworkers while I'm right in the salon? No thank you. I left a tip to be polite and asked that the technician receive it the next time she came in, but I will NEVER come back to this place and do not recommend anyone else go here either. read more

Worst Massage Ever I went in for a relaxing massage after a stressful work week and left more tense than when I arrived. The spa is nice and the staff were eager, but the service was subpar. The masseuse couldn't speak or understand English AT ALL, so she couldn't understand when I asked for aromatherapy oil, so I got none. She didn't understand when I said 'wait a minute' when she knocked on my room door, so she barged in while I was undressing. And despite at least 12 requests during the massage to use less pressure, she proceeded to give me what felt like a deep tissue massage. It was sore and uncomfortable & I repeatedly had to stop her to ask for less pressure, but she just smiled, mumbled and continued. Finally having enough, I asked for the time and tried to indicate that I wanted to leave but she didn't get it. She walked out a few mins later, so I started to get up, but she quickly returned with towels that she placed on my back. They were scalding hot, so I had to yank them off. Absolute disaster. At this point I giggled out loud bc/ I thought this is surely a joke. But nope, it was real. Never written a Yelp before, but want to spare others. Not worth even a penny. I have been coming to this salon for years now. I am a regular customer and off and pay for services for myself and my three-year-old, who has been coming with me for years as well. I basically spend about $100 every two weeks +20% tip. Obviously based on how long I have been going there, I believe the technicians do a good job. However, when we arrived today, my child inadvertently dropped a bottle of open polish on the ground for the very first time and some of it spilled on the floor. As I was later leaving (after paying for all of my services) the Manager made the technician tell me that I had to pay for the bottle. I thought this was incredibly cheap and rude and the message I got was that they don't want me there anymore. I want to be clear, my child is very well behaved. My child is not make a lot of noise or run around ever. This was just one accident. So I paid five dollars for the bottle, and they've lost a customer, which I think is what they must have wanted. As long as you don't run into any issues that require a manager to provide customer friendly service you should be fine. read more

Just visited Oasis Nail & Spa for the first time on a Friday evening for a gel mani. No wait. The salon is clean, pretty and large. There is a separate room for pedicures and the manicures are up front. My technician took a lot of care to make sure my nails were perfect and I enjoyed the hot towel and paraffin treatment. I just had the worst customer service experience at Oasis Nail Spa on Wilson Blvd in Arlington, VA. Not only were they rude and cold when I walked in, the girl who did my pedicure only painted 2/3s of each nail and then yelled at me to tell me I was too picky when I asked her to paint the parts she missed. The staff spent almost an hour trying to tell me why I was wrong, that everything was my fault, and that I should never come back. Then, while my nails were drying, one of the women came over and got physical while she tried to forcefully remove all the polish. She didn't leave me alone until I threatened to call the cops. I arrived at 5 pm for a gel manicure and waited over an hour, even though there were multiple technicians not working. After a 15 minute wait, a tech asked me to pick out my color and took me to a station and put my hands in water. But he never returned. After 5 minutes, I took my hands out because my fingers got wrinkly. I sat for another 30 minutes --imagine if I kept my nails soaking! The lady rushed because it was now almost closing time. I walked in with long nails and asked her to not to file them short--she filed them to my finger tips--I'm LIVID as I hate short nails. When I asked her to stop she told me it's okay they will grow back. She also left a piece of my nail hanging and when I pointed it, she tried telling me it was my nail polish. Regardless, nothing should be sticking out like that. She had to bring another lady to help her fix what I was talking about. Really sad because this is a pretty place, but I won't be coming back. I went on a Tuesday at noon for a gel manicure. There was only one other customer in the salon at the time. I picked out my color, was seated and the technician immediately started my manicure. The manicure itself was pretty standard but the technician (Kelley) really paid attention to detail when applying the polish which I definitely appreciated. Every nail was fully and evenly covered in the gel polish and there were no mistakes. The manicure was efficient and quick paced which was great. Do not go here! I went in for a gel polish color change and they did a poor job. Although I did not get my cuticles done, the manicurist painted to far into my nail beds causing all my nails to peel as soon as they started to grow out. So disappointed. Victoria was great but unfortunately, there was something wrong with the nail polish it was extremely pink and looked old. I was told to come back after calling twice to verify. When i got there I was rudely told to pay extra to fix it (just one day after I had gotten it done). Then, I asked to speak to the owner but she wasn't there. Neither was Victoria. The ladies were extremely mad and I was told that they would only redo the top. Meanwhile, the whole nail would look uneven! The lady who started working on my nails was rude, and mean even though I tried being polite and extremely nice. I've had good experiences here, and I've had bad experiences here, which is the reason for 3 stars. I had one manicure so good that it looked good for almost 3 weeks (regular polish!). And then I got a manicure worse than what I could have done myself. The polish didn't dry enough before the top coat was applied, so the top coat thinned out the color. I asked to have it fixed, and more color was applied, but then it wouldn't dry. A few of my nails look fine, but the ones that don't look good look awful. read more

I chose this place because it was right by my house and I felt that convenience compensated for the price (which is high). I arrived early afternoon on a Friday, so was one of the few customers and was seen right away for a regular mani-pedi. Everything went well until it was time to dry. I was dropped off at the drying station and then apparently completely forgotten. My tech was in a rush to take one of the many customers who had just arrived, so rushed off without even using the rapid drying spray. I expected she would be back to check on me after 20 minutes or so, but I never saw her again. After 45 minutes I had reached my limit on sitting still and attempted to get someone, anyones attention. No luck. After an hour, once I noticed customers who had come in for regular manicures while I was drying were already leaving (they were at another drying station while I was by myself), I just decided to take things in to my own hands and leave (I had already paid). I understand the problem was that they got really busy, and my own tech was in another room doing a pedicure. But, given the prices they are charging, they really need to try harder. This place gets the job done. My nails always look nice and I usually don't have to wait too long for a technician. Prices are reasonable and I love that a free paraffin dip is included as part of the manicure service. If you come during peak hours, they tend to rush you a bit, but I suppose that's to be expected wherever you go. read more
