Little piece of the Mediterranean right in Collingswood! A Thursday night dinner with friends at Oba was a delight all around. Given the insane humidity, it was raining on and off, but we still managed to dine outdoors under the covered porch. The outdoor décor is festive and bright. -- Mixed Appetizers - sampling of all dips -- Spinach Pide - gooey mozzarella and fresh spinach -- Falafel - crispy and served with tahini -- Shrimp Casserole - this was lighter and healthier than I expected. Cooked perfectly and seasoned well. I love the accompanied rice! -- Salmon - good portion size. Leftovers for the next day! -- Bronzino - whole fish (you can request filet instead). Tender and lots of lemony flavor -- Rib eye steak - seasoned well and cooked to temperature Desserts were a hit also. The Baklava stole the show. BYOB. Street parking only. Add it to your to-try list!

Definitely Obama has become one of my favorites and everyone who has eaten here has been duly impressed! Tonight started with their arugula salad perfect with their freshly made bread. The so yummy "meat pie" was enough for two and the shrimp casserole's flavors were multi-dimensionally delicious. OBA should be packed with diners every night so come on over and grab a seat on the porch!!

The place is really cozy. The overall service is wonderful, everybody is incredibly sweet and polite even during their most busy hours. The food is perfect, super delicious, and the portions are huge. 10/10, I would recommend it to everybody.

On the recommendation of a friend, we ventured to oba Mediterranean grill. The dining room as we entered was warm, cozy, and inviting. We sat down at our table and we're greeted by our servers, who were friendly, and super efficient. They answered a bunch of our questions as well about the menu. This is a BYOB so they gladly opened up our adult beverages. For appetizers we got the sampler of cold appetizers, every one of them delicious. We also got the grilled octopus, my only complaint was there wasn't more of it! It was so delicious, probably the best grilled octopus I've had. Perfectly grilled, and tender... Just delicious. We also ordered on the recommendation of my friend, the manti, which is actually an entree, for an appetizer. It is these small meat dumplings with a creamy sauce on top. Delicious as well, the tender light dumpling wrappers held the yummy meat inside. I used the complimentary balloon bread, and pitas to dip into the sauce as well as the cold appetizer. For a meals we got the mixed grills and falafel. Again everything delicious. The mixed grill gives you a taste of the chicken, gyro, beef, lamb everything. Everything was hot flavorful and delicious. The buttered rice that comes with it was super good as well. Save room for dessert because they do have some good ones. I had the rice pudding which was super delicious. Definitely a must try. The place was getting so crowded people were willing to sit in the outside seating area. It was enclosed for the winter, but definitely a little cooler out there.

The food, service and ambiance are all amazing. I recommend the chicken sautée. The chicken was very tender and stewed vegetables, tomatoes, peppers, onions were well seasoned. It has a great olive oil based sauce for dipping. The babaghanoush, grilled smoked eggplant was tasty with fresh herbs. The restaurant setting feels like you are visiting family for dinner. The decor has an airy light feel with pastel blues and white with cozy outdoor seating in the porch. The staff were very efficient, food came out fast and we got exactly what we ordered. They were also very friendly. A complimentary tea finished the meal. Highly recommend!

Lovely restaurant. The staff is very polite and kind. Our server made great suggestions. The calamari was light and delicious and the branzino was tasty. We sat outside and it was a lovely day and a lovely spot to people watch. It's a cute neighborhood and we really enjoyed it.

We went to OBA on a Friday night in September. OBA is a beautiful restaurant in an old Victorian house. We had a rather large party of 10 and were seated with 2 tables siide. Not ideal, but it workrd. I must comment that the service was five stars easy. All of the service people were attentive and friendly and helpful. The food was also very good. The hummus was excellent. And they supply homemade Turkish breads, which were delicious. The Branzino was excellent.also. OBA has some unique Turkish desserts also. We really like this restaurant and will definitely be back. 4 1/2 Yelp stars

Oba located in Collingswood and it is a big blue house that you cannot miss. They offer authentic Turkish food that is fresh and delicious. You can dine in or order takeout. It is also BYOB. Oba offers soups, salads, cold/hot appetizers, vegetarian, seafood, lamb, and chicken dishes. For a starter they give you their bread. When it comes to you, it look likes a giant bubble and then it deflates. I started with their hummus and I paired it with vegetables. It was fresh, light, creamy, and delicious. It was the perfect starter to my meal. Next, I ordered their Branzino and I had it filet. It was light, flaky, and each bite melted in my mouth. The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. If you are looking to try something new in the Collingswood area, then Oba is the place for you.

OBA Mediterranean Grill - Authentic Turkish Food is exactly that - 100% authentic, delicious Turkish food and I am well-versed in making and eating the cuisine of that region of the world. Dear friends invited us to meet at OBA for dinner and it was amazing. We were promptly seated (yes, we had reservations) and the greeting and service was very friendly and efficient. Immediately, a large, hot puffed pita bread was placed in front of us fresh from the oven. We ordered the Mixed Appetizers, a sampling of 8 of their cold appetizers: hummus, babaghanoush, eggplant salad, sauced eggplant. lebni (haydari), spicy ezme, tabuleh and butter pine nut hummus. We also ordered some hot appetizers: falafel, icli kofte (stuffed kibbeh), cheese rolls and the grilled octopus. Everything, and I mean everything was delicious. The cold appetizers were all well-seasoned, succulent and tasty. The octopus was incredible, tender, flavorful and yummy. The cheese rolls and falafel were equally good and everything that was meant to be served hot came to the table piping hot throughout the meal. Three of us ordered the mixed grill and it was fantastic. You get a taste of much of the kebab menu as it comes with chicken shish, beef shish, adana kebab, lamb shish, gyro and a lamb chop. All of the meats were grilled to perfection and the beef and lamb were truly melt-in-the-mouth. Phenomenal. The meats are accompanied by a nice, well-dressed salad and your choice of rice or bulgur - all three of us had the bulgur and it was truly the best bulgur I have had. Red in color, soft, fluffy and perfectly flavored to complement the grilled meats. A very generous plate and so delicious. The spinach pide (ispanakil pide) was also well-executed. Thin crust with a flavorful filling of spinach and mozzarella cheese - and again, piping hot fresh from the oven. It is huge. By the time we went through all of this food, we did not have room for dessert, but I had the Turkish tea (highly recommended) and we were given some baklava on the house. A perfect ending to a perfect meal. We would definitely go back and the only downside is that they are not in our grubhub/door dash delivery range because we would be ordering from them often.

Terrific Sunday supper at OBA Mediterranean Grill: great service and ambiance on the covered front porch--ceiling fans helped keep air circulating before the sun began to set--and delicious Turkish cuisine! We whet our appetite with the hot, puffed, sesame-seeded pita/flatbread served with olive oil (great olives!) and then moved on to the Rustic Hummus (chickpeas mashed into tahini, lemon juice, cumin, extra virgin olive oil), Meat Pie (2 pieces, Anatolia's version of ancient Turkish meat pie with ground lamb, parsley, tomatoes, red peppers, onion), and Mix Grill (chicken shish, adana kebab, gyro, lam shish, lamb chops). The lamb was special--would likely get the Lamb Chops next time around! Looking around at our fellow diners' tables, there's plenty more on the menu that I'd want to try on a return visit.

Wow. South Jersey has been missing an authentic Turkish experience and restaurant. This place is amazing and i highly recommend it. The food is authentic, has a lot of main dishes and the ambiance is great. The service was excellent and playful. The food was really good and we tried so many different things that were all really good. Highly recommend for date night or foodie night out (we took our 2 younger kids and my 8 year old loved the food too)

I wish I could give 4.5 stars instead of 4. We really enjoyed our meal here although we have another favorite Turkish restaurant in the area so I couldn't give this 5 stars because our favorite gets 5 stars :) Everything tasted fresh and was super tasty. I wasn't very hungry so I just had a salad (see pic) and pretty much that entire big puffed pita (?) they give which is delicious. We also loved that they served real olive oil which did not seem cut with any other toxic seed oils. If you like rice pudding, please get the rice pudding. It's the best I've ever tasted and I've been traveling for work for a very long time and have had my share of rice puddings.

It was a chance to refresh from the heat and grab a bite. With all the choice of restaurants, we did not choose well. The three of us were in there almost an hour to have lunch. The chicken plate had FOUR small pieces of chicken. Service was terrible and the food was just OK, although the vegetables were good. The surprise came when the bill was delivered. They do not provide change!!! If you pay a $61 check with a $100 bill, or any bills greater than the amount, you get nothing back! They just presume that's what you want to tip! Meh Mediterranean in a daycare setting…read more Before I even reached the door, the walls of a crying infant arose from a family dining al fresco at Norma's in Cherry Hill. Restless little ones blocked the entry, setting the tone for my overall Saturday evening experience. That Norma's is popular, there can be no doubt. We had no reservations, and felt lucky to snag a table. The place was bustling, servers had their hands full, we were obliged to be patient until ours arrived. I love Norma's menu -- my partner is vegetarian, so Mediterranean works great for us. I went the veggie route as well, starting with a lentil and ckickpea soup that was hot and savory and the high point of my meal. Other appetizers we enjoyed were the spanikopita and the cheese manaeesh, second to none. My veggie skewer was perfectly charred yet light. After such a promising start, then, our entrees came as quite a disappointment. My partner opted for the falafel salad, and while Norma's falafel are indeed superior, the salad was a bit of a mess, too ... wet, diluting the dressing, leaving runny runoff on the plate. But the greatest misfire wss the mixed kabobs entree I ordered. Everything about it was underwhelming -- these are signature items that should be stand+outs, but weren't. The kabobs were just okay, lacking in appeal, resting on a bed of rice that was unremarkable except for how cold it was. I suspect my plate had been held too long. I know they would have fixed it had I asked -- but seriously, I was up to *here* with all the kids. While I was eating, a woman behind me gathered up her gaggle of tots, squeezing out of the way to make room for a baby carriage the size of a Volkswagen. Does Norma's deserve a second chance? Sure. Next time, I'll stick with the appetizers and stay close to my wine glass lest the kindergarteners in my vicinity cause my nerves to fray.
