We made a 12:15pm lunch reservation on a Tuesday and chose to sit inside to escape the extreme heat outside. They do have great outdoor seating right on the Chicago River, but the indoor dining room was comfortable and a welcome relief from the weather. The place was absolutely packed for the lunch rush, so the service was average, but the food was amazing. They have some items marked gluten-free on the menu, and our server confirmed that every pizza on the menu can be made GF. While it is not a dedicated gluten-free facility, they take great precautions to limit cross-contamination, which gave me peace of mind after informing them I have celiac disease. We started with the apple kale salad and then shared a duck prosciutto with red sauce pizza on a gluten-free crust. The crust is a European-style blend where the gluten is removed from the flour, and it was really, really good. If you are looking for top-tier gluten-free pizza in the city, this spot is highly recommended.

Beautiful location on the water, the Ogden Slip. So lovely and peaceful. Indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor patio is so nice! Lots of umbrellas. Excellent happy hour! We enjoyed pizza super slices, meatballs, and calamari. The sauce with the meatballs was amazing! Had a nice kick! Loved the sauce with the calamari too. Delicious Arnold Palmer to drink. The affogato for dessert was fabulous too. Tasty gelato. Attentive and helpful service. I definitely want to come back for dinner.

There's just something about Robert's Pizza and Dough Company that keeps us coming back every single time We've been here so many times already and somehow every visit feels even better than the last. The second you walk in, the entire atmosphere just feels cozy, lively, welcoming, and honestly impossible to leave Between the views, the music, the energy, the smell of pizza coming out of the oven nonstop... it's genuinely one of our favorite spots in the city. We started with cocktails that were SO refreshing and perfectly made, then got surprised with burrata on the house which was such a sweet touch and absolutely incredible. Creamy, fresh, flavorful -- the kind of appetizer you immediately wish was twice the size because it disappears way too fast And then THE PIZZA. Their char pizza is seriously one of those pizzas you think about days later. Perfectly blistered crust, crispy edges, cheesy, saucy, with those little pepperoni cups that get crispy on top Every bite somehow tastes even better than the last and the crust alone deserves its own appreciation post honestly. As if we weren't already completely obsessed with the experience, they ALSO brought out flan on the house for dessert and WOW. Smooth, creamy, rich, perfectly balanced sweetness with the whipped cream and caramel... literally the perfect ending to such an amazing dinner. But honestly what keeps making us fall in love with Robert's over and over again isn't just the food -- it's the entire experience. The service is ALWAYS incredible, everyone is so welcoming and attentive, and the ambiance is truly unmatched. It's one of those places where dinner turns into sitting around talking longer because you genuinely don't want the night to end

If you one of you and a good meal, come here! Definitely get a reservation as a lot of the seating is outdoors and of course, the beautiful weather with the breeze and the view makes this place really busy. It's on the river. We made a reservation and got seating outside on a Friday night. It was super packed.. We got to make your own pizza, I think the pizza needed a little more sauce. It was delicious, but less flavorful than I thought. The crust was great, not too thick like your usual Chicago pizza. Service was good quick and easy.

EXCELLENT pizza!! The flavors were wonderful and the sourdough crust was very well done. The outdoor seating is well shaded and the service is fast and efficient, even when it's super busy.

Build your own pizza, with supposedly ricotta altho it looks and tastes like blue cheese

This place was VERY busy, we had a reservation so got in timely but wow it was packed. We were soo excited to try the pizza but were underwhelmed. The ricotta tasted like goat cheese although they assured me it was ricotta. The crust was unedible bc it was so burnt. Service was meh, saw our server maybe 2x, to order and then when we flagged her down for the bill. Great views from the outside deck, almost like sitting in holland overlooking the canals. Overall, dont recommend.

Our first girl dinner of our Chicago trip was Robert's Pizza and Dough. My friend had found their restaurant online and so we were all really excited to check it out. It was maybe a 15 minute walk from our hotel which isn't anything at all but it is by the water so it's pretty cold. When we arrived we were able to get seats without reservations which was nice. Between 6 girls we order calamari and meatballs to share along with the Cali Itali pizza and Carne. Umm the food was so delicious, the meatballs had so much flavor and really huge definitely a good little share. Then the calamari was perfect, not oily and super crunchy, I haven't had good calamari in forever so this hit the spot. Our pizzas were perfect, the dough had good flavor and the toppings were just the right amount. It's not Chicago's tavern style or deep dish but this was by far the best pizza we had all trip. Note, the bathroom is down a spooky hall but it was really nice. The people here were so friendly and the food is superb. I bet during Summertime this place is just beautiful to eat outside! Ugh, I cannot wait to come back!

This was one of the food highlights on my recent trip to Chicago! The neighborhood is beautiful this time of year, so if you can I recommend requesting outdoor reservations. They do fill up quick and walk in wait times were over an hour. Service was standard, we did feel ourselves looking around for our server a little bit, but the food was delicious! Most of the salads are big enough to share between two people and the apple hazelnut was a crisp and refreshing start. The cup and char was delicious, perfectly crisp thin crust without being greasy. I recommend getting the hot honey on the side, especially to drizzle on the crust.

Had a fantastic river side patio dinner at Robert's! It was great weather to be out and while they were busy both inside and outside, we were seated fairly quickly for dinner time on a Saturday. Our server was kind and frequently checked in on us for refills. Our group opted to get a chorizo pizza and a carne pizza, both of which were delicious and flavorful! The chorizo pizza had a great mix of toppings (goat cheese, tomato, chorizo) that all went well together. the carne pizza had plenty of toppings and tasted wonderful too! Honestly forget the Chicago deep dish chains and come here, we did not regret it!

LOVE Robert's!!!! Everything about it is amazing. The pizza is delicious, the drinks are also delicious, and the ambiance is perfect. The pizza can also be made gluten free. It's tucked away in the city but right by a quiet branch of the river, you really can't beat the location. They can accommodate really large groups as well so it's great for a big party size. Summer nights at Roberts are my favorite.

AMAZING!! Definitely some of the best pizza I had in Chicago, the ingredients were super fresh and so tasty! Walked up and had a 20 minute wait without a reservation; we were sat pretty quickly, a very indoor and outdoor atmosphere: outdoor seating right on the river so perfect for a nice day; would HIGHLY recommend and I'll be back!

Had an awesome experience here in River East. The weather couldn't have been better, and their outdoor seating really made the whole meal feel like a perfect Chicago moment. We started with the mussels, which were absolutely on point--fresh, flavorful, and a great way to kick things off. Our server recommended the acorn squash, and I'm really glad we listened. Such a great seasonal dish, and it felt like we caught it just in time before it's gone. A highlight was Robert (manager/owner) stopping by to say hi--super friendly and genuinely welcoming, which added a nice personal touch to the experience. Great food, great service, and an ideal outdoor setup. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to. Easy to navy pier or the river if you need to walk those calories off

I love Robert's! The crust is perfection: airy with a little crunch. I've been here multiple over the course of several years (since they first opened), and I've loved every pizza. My favorite topping is caramelized onion! I haven't been there for brunch yet, but those pizzas also look delicious. Pizzas are fairly priced, ingredients are super fresh, great ratios of all pizza components, and they're consistently made well without variability. I can always count on a good pizza from Robert's! The location is also excellent. I love dining on the patio when the weather is nice and enjoying that Chicago River view. Note when dining in on the patio that it can get pretty crowded with a long wait time. Takeout has always been speedy! Tip: if you have leftover pizza, make sure you heat it up in the microwave a bit to make the crust soft again!
