The bologna sandwich and the collard green melt are two of the most creative, satisfying things you can eat anywhere in this country. They sound simple on paper and then they absolutely blow you away. The kind of food that makes you genuinely angry that you don't live closer. We love it here so much we bought the cookbook. That is the level of devotion this place inspires. If you have not been, stop what you are doing and go. If you have been, you already know. There is nothing else to say except that Mason Hereford is a genius and Turkey and the Wolf is a treasure.

However, I know wait times can be out the door so plan accordingly. We were dropped off by Uber, but in terms of parking, it's mainly street parking. Overall, the shop is pretty small. They have a handful of tables outside and more seating inside but it's not huge -- hence the longer lines. It's also quite eclectic with serving on plastic McDonald's plates and the music that was playing. We ordered: The ham sandwich, wedge salad, and a delicious pickle cocktail The ham sandwich had excellent flavor! I wish it had a but more ham on it, but overall the flavor was 10/10! The wedge salad had too much salad dressing. I LOVE blue cheese and blue cheese salad dressing but the lettuce to dressing ratio was off. Could have used less as I felt so much went to waste. The thick cut bacon on the salad was the exact salty touch it needed and the fresh dill was such a fresh touch. The pickle cocktail was delicious! I wish I would have ordered another one! It was slightly sweet, but also salty... SO good! Overall, I would highly recommend Turkey and the Wolf and totally stop by again if I were visiting New Orleans in the future.

You gotta come to fresh market on Thursdays for the $5 bistro meals!!! (Beware they do sell out of…read moresome items.) They also have a hot plate meal where you can get a rotisserie chicken, two sides, and 6 rolls - feed 4-6 people. (Perfect amount for 3 people sized family in my opinion.). Depends on the portion sizes your family eats. Either way, great last minute meal ideas after a long day of work. Or for your lunch break! The workers are all really polite here, but the checkout line is not fast so make sure to get a basket or cart to make waiting in line easier. It is always clean in here, and they always have lots of fresh produce. Plus a convenient parking lot.

After being cursed out for four hours I threw one single mochi ice cream(and unfortunately missed) that I purchased in the store on top of several other items throughout the parade. Nopd got involved and an employee(curly hair/woman/a bunch of metal in her face) claimed I was "criminally trespassing" despite buying over $100 in groceries that the police ended up confiscating AFTER bashing my head into the wall(there were two ribeyes, a large bag of jelly beans, expensive cheese, olive oil, and garlic in those bags). While I was trying to reason with the employee and explain what happened and that I was being harassed. She refused to give me her name and that's when I was manhandled by NOPD and my head went straight into the wall.....The next night I got permission from Eric the GM to purchase groceries and be on the steps as a customer. She was in the store off the clock in booty shorts and tried to start an argument with me for the second time. I reported this to headquarters but never got a response. I am now escalating this to a local attorney as a civil rights case. Not only did they allow police brutality to happen at the store, I am also on the autism spectrum with ADHD and the way they handled this incident was absolutely discriminatory in that respect. For the record, this happened after I was complying with the first request to leave and I was getting my stuff together on the table in my bag. My charges were also dropped a few weeks ago as I was given court summons before I was transported to oschner Baptist for a head CT. I have been having recurring headaches that I need to see a neurologist about since this incident.

I came across Welty's in an interesting way. I asked ChatGPT to recommend local spots for a…read more50-person volunteer box lunch order at work, and it flagged Welty's as a strong contender based on Google reviews. So I figured I'd do a trial run first. Food (7/10) They wouldn't let me order a single box lunch, so I pieced together a comparable meal: a ham and cheese sandwich with chips, plus a cookie purchased separately. A few things stood out. First, there were no condiments included, so the sandwich was noticeably dry by the time I got back to the office -- something worth flagging for anyone ordering for an event. That said, the meat portion was generous, which I appreciated. It came with Miss Vickie's Sea Salt chips; I'm not sure if other flavors were available, but none were offered. The cookies came three to a container, roughly 3-inch chocolate chip, and were ok. The total with tax came to $21 for the sandwich, chips, and cookies. This doesn't seem like a good value, since I can get a combo meal from Espresso Express in the Entergy building for $12.50, and it comes with a sandwich, chips, cookie and drink--canned, bottled water or iced tea. I also wasn't able to try the fruit cocktail, so that remains an unknown. The meal came in a standard clear plastic container. While functional, it wasn't remarkable. For a catered event where appearance matters, it doesn't quite measure up to what competitors like Jason's Deli or The Honey Baked Ham offer in terms of packaging and visual appeal. Service (6/10) One person greeted me warmly when I walked in by describing their sweet treats. Everything else, unfortunately, fell flat. The cashier didn't acknowledge me and was noticeably unfriendly, and this was only about 20 minutes after opening, with no one else in line. A man came out from the back and just stared at me. The overall energy was one of visible surprise at my presence. I'll leave it at that, because I can't read minds. What I can say is that I've encountered this particular brand of unwelcome before, in situations where I didn't fit the profile of the customer they seemed to expect. Make of that what you will. Ambiance (8/10) It's clean and tidy. It's a food court. Bottom line: The food shows promise, but the service experience gave me pause, both in terms of hospitality basics and something that felt more personal. Worth trying for yourself and drawing your own conclusions.

Everything was disrespectfully delicious. Every bite had us questioning our life choices in the best way. By the end of the meal, we were all sleepy and completely defeated by how good the food was. The staff was on point, courteous, and polite. Our food came out hot, fast, and perfectly plated with consistency that never misses. My only small complaint is that the sweet potato habanero sauce isn't as thick as it used to be. I'm a little annoyed about that, but it still tastes exactly the same Cochon Butcher remains one of those must visit New Orleans spots that never disappoints. Great food, great service, and a place I'll always adore.

We ordered the black-eyed pea chili and the muffuletta, and the sandwich completely stole the show. The bread was perfectly soft, and you can really taste the difference in quality with their in-house meats. The olive salad tied the whole thing together, complementing the rich, savory flavors perfectly. That being said, the space gets extremely crowded on busy days. It's tight enough that you'll likely have people bumping into your chair or brushing past you while you eat and walk through the dining room. The biggest downside was the service at the counter. The line to the cashiers was very disorganized. Instead of calling the next person in line, one cashier was pulling people up at random, which made the ordering process frustrating. Overall, the food is fantastic, but be prepared for chaotic crowds and a messy ordering system during peak hours.
