This business charged a visit fee that they said they would deduct from the repair cost. They totally blew me off, did not answer phones or return texts. They have an annoying AI voice answering system that is total voice jail. They should call their business OC Appliance Ghosts. I do not recommend this company at all unless you want to spend $80 for a diagnosis and then waste a week trying to contact them. They deserve zero stars but I have to give one to post my warning to others. read more

I have a double oven that is basically obsolete. Best iven I ever owned. DACOR was brought out by Samsung. My lower oven wouldnt work so I called OC appliance repair Doon to be known as APLCE in September. Today November 29th the repairs have been completed. In September we were loving in another country and Joshua went above and beyond to help us out. He told us what we were up against in the beginning. He gave us a 2 tiered quote based on the probabilities and his quote was spot on. He searched for months to find the parts. Several parts deliveries did not pan out but Joshua was on top of things. Once he received the correct parts Joshua performed the repairs within 48 hours. The work was done professionally and responsibly, Joshua took precautions to protect the hardwood floors, cabinets and surroundings. He was very neat, courteous and mindful the entire time. Upon completion Joshua told me that he noticed a break in the cabinet and took complete responsibility. The thing is, tne break was there before Joshua began the job. The parts turned out to be more expensive than his initial quote and Joshua made sure to come to an agreement that satisfied us both. I was very impressed with the work ethic and level of responsibility. APLCE will definitely be my only choice. read more

The 888-349-4820 is listed on the the "American Appliance Repair" Yelp page and their website: www.vipapplianceservice.com. If you look at the Yelp page for AAR (American Appliance Repair) you will see those review (84 of them, all negative) follow the same foot print of the negative reviews on THIS Yelp (OC Appliance Repair) page. Which OC Appliance Repair claims they didn't service the people who left the negative review (ironic), stating competitors are responsible for these negative reviews, which as you can see if false and fraudulent misrepresentation of OC Appliance Repair. The negative reviews on this page are from REAL people just like YOU (and now me). In the event they respond to this review claiming they didn't service me, and that I'm a competitor... I've attached my initial quote/deposit receipt. Compare this with the other screen shots I've attached and you can see these people are the same people and clearly crooks. With all that said, they were supposed to repair my Samsung Dryer... claiming the motor was bad. However what they put into the dryer worked for only for few days and now when you turn the dryer on, it's sounds like a train (literally) and smells like gas (not good). I should mention that they missed the first appointment we had set for them to come out and repair it. Well today is July 11th, and AGAIN they didn't show and didn't call. I spoke with them yesterday and was assured they would be here between 2-5pm today to repair their work. Nope, no show. I called numerous times, only once did someone pick up, but then they hung up on me. I'll upload screen shots and if Yelp accepts video, you'll hear the dryer yourself. Very unprofessional... and while venting about this horrible experience. I have family, and when the tech arrived, I put on a mask (in case you read this from the future... it's 2020 - Covid)... I asked for the tech to wear a mask. He complained about it, put one on, only to take it off in my home. My house had the air condition on... so it wasn't hot in here, I keep my temp at 70 during summer months. I'll be contacting authorities, and Yelp regarding this switch and bait company. I'll start with the wins - my thermostat in my dryer was successfully replaced. Now for could do betters: 1) I asked for a estimate when booking the appointment. $150-$200 to fix almost any dryer. Paid just about double, and the repairman told me they couldn't stay in business with those prices. Interesting, that was the quote the day prior. 2) Was charged $19.95 for shipping. Nothing was shipped. 3) I was told that the reason my thermostat went out was because the lent trap was full and didn't proceed to help with that issue, even within the dryer. 4) He called someone, presumably the main office, and was clearly talking sh*t about me in another language (like the nail salon episode of Seinfeld). I can't give O.C. App. Repair a rating because we are not going through with the repair. Max. the tech that came out to see what the problem was with our Miele G2472 Dishwasher was very professional, and did a clean survey of the machine. However when I got the repair proposal a couple hours later. My jaw dropped to the floor. I could not believe the repair cost was almost $1,300.00 to replace a circulation pump (see attached proposal below). It was over $800.00 just for the pump. The cost of the Miele G2472 when we bought it new was $1,300.00. So for those of you out there that are baffled as I am. Go to the Miele Repair reviews online, and you will see the problems people are having with the Miele circulation pumps. People have changed their pumps out two and three times. That is Insane. I can buy a brand new dishwasher with stainless inside and out, and install it myself for half the cost of the repair. So you know what I'm going to do!! I understand that O.C. He was courteous but had heavy accent so was hard to understand at times. He gave us an estimate and was helpful in giving us alternatives if we didn't want to do the repair. Overall it was a good experience of getting an estimate but we did pay a $55 service call fee which we were told we would have to pay when we called. Only concern is that OC appliance repair seems to be a different company than advertised probably due to bad ratings as American Appliance Repair. read more

Unprofessional!!! We had a refrigerator temperature issue so we called them today to come take a look. The service person had to be told to wear a mask before entering-strike 1. After taking a look at the fridge he then quoted a charge of $700-800 to repair it. My mother just asked him what the problem with the fridge was and he turned to me and said " I cannot explain it to her" (with a condescending laugh) as if she was an idiot-strike 2. I had my dishwasher repaired. My dishwasher didn't drain water. I saw YouTube video cleaned my dishwasher still the water didn't so I called OC appliance and had it diagnosed it. The tech was professional, wore mask and took his shoe off when he came in the house. Some service tech are informed to take their shoe off. Anyways, the tech informed me the the connector that connects the pipe from dishwasher and reconnects to disposer was clogged and just needs cleaning. He informed me how to clean so I can save money. Just recently our ice maker, which we use a lot, decided to stop working. Normally I would have called one of the big name appliance repair companies, but OC Appliance Repair had been recommended by my sister. We decided to try a smaller business and a very nice man by the name of Mel came out the next day and he was able to fix our ice maker and make the necessary repairs. It was all so easy and quick. Shortly after that our outside garage refrigerator stopped cooling ..all of a sudden. It was an older fridge but a good one and we had a feeling it was not going to be good news. We wanted a honest opinion so we called MEL again. He came that afternoon and told us what he thought and said he would do some tests. He was very thorough and gave us our options on pricing, etc. Because of the age of the refrigerator we decided to go ahead and replace it with a new fridge, but I have a feeling if we would have called out one of the "bigger"companies, they would have suggested we replace the compressor,etc. Mel was honest and we felt our decision was the right one. I am all for helping smaller businesses and when you find someone who is honest and really wants to help his customers, it's a great feeling. Wanted to take a minute to leave a good word for Tim because I found him through yelp, and he seems to have gotten some negative reviews that he dId not deserve. I called Tim yesterday because our washing machine appeared to be leaking. He was good enough to fit us in for a repair the next day. He was prompt, respectful, and attentive. After trying a few things, he was able to spot that the problem wasn't with the appliance, but a problem with our pipes. It was bad news that he delivered with sincere regret, because it wasn't something he could help us with, and he charged a fair amount for his time and expertise, with the added benefit of 30 days of free help in case the machine did need fixing in the future. I understood that Tim was **not offering a free consult**. Identifying a problem, even if he wasn't able to do anything about it, was **still a service** that he had every right to be compensated for. These reviews are so important to small businesses. And I hope that my honest opinion will add some counterweight to these other reviews that honestly sound like the people writing them didn't understand what they were agreeing to. Our Maytag refrigerator was behaving badly ( water dispenser not working well, very little ice, ultimately the touch pad went out & locked up) Paul is conscience and eager to do a good job. All told, he will have made 3 trips. First trip was to diagnose & order electronic parts, 2nd trip was to install & test, third is to bring us a new filter). What can I say that hasn't already been stated here. 3 days ago, I called OC Appliance, spoke to Alex, told him my fridge was no longer cooling, etc...He told me he would send someone there asap. Within an hour, they were there (QUICK)! My technician, ALEX, showed up with a great personality and super knowledgable. After inspecting my Sears Kenmore Elite, he recommended that I contact the manufacturer... why? Because he said, "your 3-year-old refrigerator has a 10year warranty for the compressor which will be voided if non-manufacturer technician repairs it." The compressor was fried. He explained that refrigerators that are sealed (like mine), have a 7 to 10-year compressor warranty. I learned that the more complicated the refrigerator with several circuit boards and lots of bells and whistles for a high tech look, the higher the cost of the repair and the more likely its malfunction. This type of refrigerator is difficult to maintain if it is sealed because only the manufacturer can service it to keep the warranty intact. He told me when I contact Sears to get it serviced, MAKE CERTAIN that the technician is a certified Kenmore repair technician. He charged his fee, made a few other recommendations like a GE, Side by Side fridge less than 1,100 greenbacks on sale at Home Depot - he services all brands, and said this was the best way all around!! Ahhh...I love Sears, but today, I did not. The first appt from a Kenmore tech is May 4th. MAY FOURTH......yes I said it..... M.A.Y. - F.O.U (A MONTH OUT!!!). The phone person said, "hold on let me see what I can do for you to HELP YOU - I would hate for you to waste so much time" ***on hold of 2 mins*** "I found a technician in your area that can be there on Monday!" I said, "Is he a Kenmore Tech??" ... stammered, "uh, well, this is a partner of ours and they service all our appliances" again, "Is he a Kenmore Service Technician?" slowly, "No ma'am, but they can be there on Monday." I told her, no thank you, give me the 5/4 appt. I'll have to pay a $99 diagnostic fee and pay for labor. She could not provide me with the labor cost because the Kenmore technician will quote that to me before ordering any parts. Minimum, I will have to pay $99 PLUS who knows how much labor cost. The compressor is covered, but that's it. All food has been tossed and my mini-fridge is working overtime! I will take Alex's advice GET RID OF IT - it'll break down again, guaranteed! My GE will be delivered in just a few days. Oh, one more thing, he said that fridges from Korea or Vietnam will have the high tech, multi circuit boards sealed refrigerators. Our garage freezer broke on Sunday, the week before Xmas. Yikes. I called on Sunday night and Alex came out Monday morning. He had to order a part, but was here on Wednesday AM and fixed it.. YAY!! We tried to overlook that, but when asked to take off his shoes he was not courteous about the request. American Appliance did an awesome job on my oven. My wife was in the middle of cooking dinner on Monday night last week and my maytag oven stopped heating right in the middle of cooking her meatloaf. I heard a popping noise and that's it. No more heat. :( Luckily, I called this repair shop. They had tech just one block away from me that was doing repairs for someone else. So, Alex in the office said that tech will be there in 30 min and there he was at my house 30 min later. Funny thing, techs name was Alex as well but he was older gentleman. He took a look at my oven and said that heating element is broken. He had one in stock and 45 min later my wife was cooking again. She was a one happy gal. And, you know what they say " happy wife happy life". HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company. read more

Was having problems with grinding noises from my GE washing machine. Called OC Appliance Repair expecting to make an appointment next week, and spoke with Alex who said, we can have a technician come out today to check it out. WHAT!!! lol. Sure enough Tim came out that day. He seemed very knowledgeable. I described what was going on and showed a video with the grinding noise and from that he seemed to already have an idea of what was going on. Spent another 5 min confirming the problem, then after a short discussion with me fixed it. All in all about 45 min and my problem was gone!! Really good experience!! After less than a minute he started writing up the invoice without telling what was wrong with my dryer. 20min. later he was still writing up invoice without giving me a diagnosis of problem. We had a different repair company come out to fix our oven first. After paying $210 our oven was never working and we waited 8 months for them to find parts. So, we called OC Appliance Repair to come out. We had an excellent repairman named Tim come out and he fixed it. Can't say enough good things about Tim. He was polite, went straight to work and fixed the oven. My Mother was very surprised when Tim shut our screen door, usually everyone goes out and lets the screen door slam shut. Tim was very professional and courteous. We were very happy that Tim was able to fix our oven right away. He cleaned up after his work and left us very happy. Do not make appt with this company. Made appt for 8/4 at 11am. No show after 11:15am and I called them. They said they never give exact time for appt but the time window. Told me that my time window was between 11am-1pm (they have never said that when I made appt), but anyway he said the technician will arrive shortly in 30-40 mins. I said fine as I have other crews working at the job site and had few other appts. Oh well.. I left the house at 2pm. This guy never showed up. Maybe if you are getting 3-4 appliances inspected, they might show up fast since they charge $55 per appliance for just check up. But if you are going to check up just ONE appliance, you should expect to clear up all your schedule for half day. read more

They came out and diagnosed our issue and needed to order the part. Scheduled follow up and was given a 3 hour window, and their tech came within the first 15 minutes of that time frame!
