The process of buying carpet is daunting, however, Reza at OC Carpet & More in Lake Forest, was so knowledgeable and suggested different carpet based on our needs and budget. There was no pressure and his prices were usually on the lower end compared with other businesses (and we looked a lot). He is very friendly and the installers we had were wonderful. I decided to change the carpet in my home that was rather outdated and after shopping around for a few weeks I decided to do business with OC Carpet and More. The owner Reza was very helpful and was very easy to work with. The showroom had a large amount of different styles of carpeting and overall I had a great experience. The guys at the store (Bob and Reza) are quite polite and helpful. They are willing to work with you to meet your budget and will work at your timeframe. The only downside is that there contractors that actually perform the work are hit or miss. I had three things done and each job had a different contractor. I had laminate, porcelain tile and carpet. The laminate guy (Alex) and his crew of mexicans did a decent job. The only downside was they dont clean up after themselves. They left footprints and dust everywhere. I also had to have Alex come back 3 times to fix the molding plates for the laminate. The Porcelain tile guys also did a decent job, but left grout on the tile itself for which I then had to go out and buy Acid grout haze remover to get it off. Also, I'm the one who also had to seal the grout for protection, and I feel this should be the job of the professionals to clean up and do what is necessary to do a proper job. No complaints with the carpet contractors, they did an excellent job and the team was lead by a guy named Felix. Highly recommend him. All in all, an average customer experience, definitely Reza and Bob will do whatever they can to accomodate your requests, but unfortunately they dont control the contractors themselves so it becomes a game of contractors saying they did the job right and customer being unsatisfied but can only call the office and have the contractors come back out over and over. Its also hard when the contractors dont speak proper English to communicate your issues to them. Also, you have to do your research about the product your buying from these guys, ie the manufacturer etc. I was sold pretty crappy carpet and was told it was a good carpet by Reza. The issue with the carpet is that if you put something heavy (10 lbs+) the carpet will sink in and stay like that for a week or more and a vacuum it a few times and put nothing else on it. These guys are decent but not the best, and they overcharge for quality products so if you have a tighter budget, you're going to get a very poor quality product. The carpet I was after, Home depot were selling for approx $6,500 for my sq. footage, but these guys quoted me just over $15,000! In retrospect I wis I got the carpetting done at Home Depot and just the laminate and tiles here. But it is what it is now! I had to get the job done fast ad these guys met my timeframe and budget. On a final note, my advice is whatever you're trying to get done, do research on the manufacture of the product before you commit, and also find out if the person you're talking to is the installer or if they're going to give you 3rd party contractors. read more
