So Steve Vouzzo was recommended to me by a friend and so I used his company Fairmont Flooring to put carpet in my house. The carpet is shredding in certain areas and I have contacted Steve multiple times with no phone call back from him and no response. My experience was strange, to say the least. Initially, I physically went into the store where Steve helped me. He seemed to be polite and professional. I took a business card and let him know that I was still undecided as to the flooring I wanted and would get back to him after I checked out a few stores and made my final decision. After looking at flooring options that I saw at other stores I decided that I would go with Fairmont Floors. I then called the store several times, and eventually, after several calls, someone from Fairmont returned my call and said that Steve would reach out to me. I waited a few days, and nothing. So today, I called the store and asked for Steve, intending to place an order. Steve seemed to be annoyed and extremely rude, and it frankly felt slightly racist. Needless to say - I did not order from Fairmont Flooring. Therefore, I cannot speak to Fairmont as installers or anything regarding the quality of their work. I can only say that they seemed to be quite disorganized and very rude - rude to the point that I ended the phone call after I felt disrespected. I do not normally leave reviews, but this experience felt so out of left field that I felt obligated to warn would-be patrons. The team there was very kind (I had bad experiences with employees at their competitors stores), they carry GREAT brands, they came off as trustworthy from day one. SAVE YOURSELVE THE HEADACHE, TIME AND MONEY! THERE ARE SO MANY MORE COMPANIES OUT THAT DON'T TALK DOWN TO YOU, AND ARE WORRIED ABOUT CUSTOMER SATIFACTION THAN COLLECTING THEIR FINAL PAYMENT! We decided to go with this company because of the salesman Alek, he was knowledgeable, energetic, with a lot of great input. After that everything went downhill from there on out. We were told it would be a 4-day job, which ended up being 3+ weeks. They were supposed to send a crew out to our home, when they arrived, there was a single person to do the whole job. When I spoke with Brian (the owner and subcontractor hired by Fairmont Flooring demo/installation subcontractor) Brian proceeded to tell me, once he got done talking about himself, that Alek was young and didn't know what he was talking about or doing. And that, he would not be sending anyone else out. I'm not sure if this guy is misogynistic or just playing rude! Brian also stated that he would call me at the end of the day to give me an update on a time frame. The next time I spoke with him, he let me know that he didn't need to call me, I could talk to his employee that was working at the house. Then the flooring didn't match the samples. We had to pick a whole new flooring. At 8:30 PM I had to help the worker, move and put back furniture, due to the fact he had no help with him. And lastly, the company couldn't even come out to explain how to care for THEIR product or look at the final installation-they asked for photos so they could collect final payment. Fairmont Flooring replaced the old vinyl flooring in a kitchen, hallway, and laundry area with LVT. The installation was fast and looked great. But what was exceptional is what happened later. After 11 months, some of the tiles were shifting... seams were getting wider and several of the tiles had cracks. Steve came out for an inspection and concluded the tiles were defective, so they didn't stay connected to each other as they should have. There was no hesitation from Steve about Fairmont replacing those tiles. But it turned out that particular tile color had been discontinued. So Fairmont redid the entire installation with a different tile at no cost whatsoever. A company with that superb level of customer service deserves to be celebrated.
