Just bought my first car online (sorta) in my life. I've been searching for a very specific car (2005 Honda Element Ex AWD in Burnt Orange) for over 4 months now. After striking out left and right I decided to broaden my search to include Vegas and SoCal. I had the most awful experience with this place yesterday and I want to warn everyone to be alert and on their toes. I have been searching for a used car for two months now, after helping my roommate and another friend successfully find and purchase used cars, and my experiences with this spot was horrendous at best. I drove over an hour and a half to check out a '07 Prius and bring it to the Tustin Toyota for a pre-purchase inspection. I should have had the foresight when David told me over the phone that he had to ask his boss about me bringing it over to be inspected; surely people don't just buy cars without a professional looking it over? I will be providing photos of my text chats as well as photos from the Carfax ad where the car was advertised with LIES, as well as the sheet from the original purchase of the car where those features are not even listed. Specifically the features I was most excited about were the ones that were falsified: sun/moon roof, power seats, and parking sensors. I had yet to see those in any of the Prius' I checked out but thought in a Touring model it might be possible. Additionally, against my better judgement and still very interested in the car despite feeling lied to, I went to bring it over to the inspection. After checking in and communicating with David that they are backed up at the inspection and it could take an hour longer than we expected he mentioned to me that someone else is looking at the car later and I actually had to bring it back now, without an inspection, and completely breaking the contract we both signed that allowed me the car for that many hours. After a tumultuous phone call where my frustration and upset was met with hostility and yelling (not by David, he passed off the phone to his boss/owner at this point), I still had to wait for the car to be brought back to me so I could return it--at least I didn't already swipe my card to pay for the inspection. I was in the middle of expressing my intent to purchase the car despite their dishonesty when I was hung up on by the owner. This was an interesting tactic from a sales perspective. I was crying in the Tustin Toyota. I really wanted this car to work out but I couldn't be spoken to with such disrespect; it really was their lack of salesmanship and tact that cost the sale. Now, if this inspection did not show me thousands of dollars in repairs (the reason I did not buy the last used Prius I checked out) then I would have driven home with it. It became clear to me that something was wrong with the car that they did not want me to catch, otherwise why else would they not want me to spend about $200 of my car budget funds to ensure this car was completely ready to drive over 50 miles home. And why was the tire pressure light going off if they just did their own inspection and repair work on the car? I went back in my messages where David is suggesting that the Toyota technicians will find unnecessary work. The Carfax report seemed legit, but when walking around the car there were several inconsistencies that were simply not expressed in the photographs, suggestive lighting or maybe some minor issues not reported to insurance, because I had to attempt to re-clip or hit back into place the bumper on the front and back of the car. This was one of the worst dealer experiences I have had in this process, absolutely incredulous. I hope everyone heeds with caution because there are some absolutely shady business practices going on at this establishment. Best of luck to everyone in their car searches! read more

OC cars presented a nice looking Honda fit, it was overpriced by $2,000 but I thought it might be worth it. However I took it to a mechanic and they didn't even need to do the inspection, right off the bat they could tell that there was a lot of parts that were replaced, a lot of body work as well as a leaking strut, and old bushings. There was probably other things wrong with the car as well he said. Called and asked why wasn't I notified prior to the purchase if the battery has any possible problems because the battery died after 3 months of purchase, and the manager hung up the phone for thinking that I am asking for the money. In fact, the battery was promised to work as fine, and I guess my standard of working fine was different than theirs. "I don't have time for this." This is exact words what the manager said before he hung up. 2. I called again and they wanted to give me the example of "Its like your patient come back to you after 3 months because they got a flu". OC Carz: Not your typical used car buying experience... I'll tell you why. I purchased a specific make/model vehicle that I had been looking for from Reza and Ariel @OC Carz a few months ago. I had searched online and at several used car dealerships before discovering this one. Although I reside in San Diego, making the trip to OC to look at the car in person and work a deal to buy it was well worth it. Prepared to purchase the car if it was as solid as it looked in online pics, I decided to ride the train from SD to Santa Ana. I had contacted Reza in advance of my trip, and he offered to pick me up from the Amtrak station if sales traffic at the car lot allowed. I was in luck that Saturday morning. I was picked up by Ariel, I drove the car to the lot, and I viewed/test drove/viewed the car some more before sitting down to work a deal. My questions about the car were answered. I experienced zero pressure/no sales "grind" whatsoever. Both Reza and Ariel were courteous and fair in the sales process. In a short amount of time, the sale was completed, and I was driving home in the new (to me) used car. An issue we discussed at the time of the car sale needed to be addressed by me in SD, and I was able to negotiate a very fair resolution to this issue with Reza. To close, you'll have a hard time finding a better/smoother/more fair used car buying experience than I had @OC Carz. I regret ever walking into this dealership! everyone was very nice it first but of course they were because they want your money. I purchased a 2012 Mercedes-Benz C Class 250, this was my first experience buying a used car. The entire time I had a sinking suspicion that as soon as I drove the car off the lot some thing was going to go wrong and sure enough I was right a week after bringing the car home the service engine light has come on. their guarantee of standing by the vehicle and requesting that we please bring it to them before we take any legal action is a bunch of bull. When I contacted them they informed me that I had to take it to a different mechanic rather than their own on site mechanic to get a diagnosis. I have since emailed called text messaged trying to get this issue resolved with no response. Below is what my text message said to the owner: "Good morning Reza! My name is Michael Weldon, I purchased a Mercedes Benz 2012 C-Class 250 About a month ago. From week one the engine light came on the dashboard which means we have been driving this vehicle around for a month with the service engine light on. I have texted, driven to your location on a Monday, unaware that you were closed, and I called yesterday was told they were going to speak to you and then call me back to set up an appointment to get this car looked at. First of all, it bothers me that I had to bring A car which I purchased from your location, to another mechanics location to try and identify what is wrong with the car instead of bringing it right to your mechanics. Secondly, I was told they were going to speak to you and I was going to receive a call back to schedule an appointment for your mechanics to work on this car that I bought from your location. I have not received such call nor a text attempting to schedule an appointment. I have held off on writing your review for this very reason. I wanted to ensure this car was in good quality and in excellent running condition. I am extremely disappointed because I almost anticipated something like this was gonna happen as soon as we drove this car off the lot. Please contact me ASAP to get this issue resolved by your mechanics at your dealership because you stand by your vehicles." surprise surprise still no response. I will now be seeking legal counsel I want this car returned never to do business with them again! My advice to anyone who is looking to buy used used car is to never go to OCCarz! I went to the dealership today because, even though the 2006 Toyota Sienna I was looking at was priced much higher than the comps, this dealer had good reviews and I thought they might be receptive to a discounted cash offer. It was an eye-opening experience, and I did not purchase the vehicle. Here's how my experience at OC Carz was not a pleasant one: Short version: The van had a dead battery upon arrival and some performance issues; the salesman (Moe) was distracted, defensive, and patronizing. Long version: -The battery on the vehicle was not operational upon arrival. We called to tell them that we'd be arriving in two hours to look at that particular vehicle. Despite that, the battery was dead and needed jumper cables. -The salesman, Moe, was not fully engaged during the test drive. Instead, he was glued to the screen of his cell phone in the back seat. In general, I had to ask some questions multiple times before he offered up a response. At one point, he was so much in his own world, that he wasn't even aware WHY my boyfriend was pulling over to the right side of the road: "No, go LEFT at this light!" The ambulance was heading in our direction on the wrong side of the median, and we had been anticipating it, at that point, for quite some time. -After returning the car and inspecting the interior, the inattentiveness continued. Multiple misfires: "Moe ... Moe ... Moe!" As I stood at the driver's side door, Moe was standing at the back of the car gazing into his phone. Again, largely disengaged. -Upon going inside the building for the CarFax and to discuss numbers, I found a different Moe. He went from mostly checked-out to aggressive salesman mode. He wouldn't let me finish most of my sentences, rather, cutting me off to loudly redirect. It was off-putting, to say the least. It wasn't until I said, "Are you going to let me finish a sentence?" that he partially corrected that behavior. -I feel like we couldn't have a real conversation. Immediately he entered with high-pressure tactics and didn't seem to have much interest in my concerns: I noticed performance issues during the test drive. For example, at the slightest right turn, not even enough to immediately change lanes, there was a distinct friction/rubbing sounds. Moe's quick response was to simply defend their mechanic. The logic proposed was that it was "safe" because their certified mechanic wouldn't have said otherwise. (There's some gray area there that I didn't want to argue about, so instead, I said that the sale would be contingent upon a pre-purchase inspection by my mechanic.) He said that it was my right (which it is, by law), but tried to discourage me: "It'll be at your own cost! ... You can't take it to a mechanic more than 10...or 15 miles away. ...AND you'd have to do it in the morning!" - Too many stipulations--morning? Really? I tried to walk at that point, but he ran around the corner to the owner. When he came back: "OKAY! HAVE A SEAT, FOLKS!" -I told him that despite it having a clean record, which I liked, I wasn't loving the price due to a few factors: observable wear-and-tear, the fact that it was a 2006 (eleven-years-old), and that it had three previous owners, the last two being within two years. According to Car Gurus, the van was priced $1,100 over fair market value. According to Kelly Blue Book (including all the upgrades they had listed), double that overage. Moe was incredulous about this. Multiple times over he said there was no way. I told him that I'd be happy to go to a private owner and pay $8,000, but I'm willing to hear his lowered price since they're a dealership and offer a warranty. He couldn't bring himself to just tell me. He kept waiting for me to commit to buying THAT day assuming "... he [gave] me a really good deal." -Ultimately, Moe didn't listen. He reiterated what he THOUGHT he heard: "You want to pay $8,000 out the door, which means I have to come down to $7,000 and that's never going to happen." - Me: "That's NOT what I said." He decided that his best move at that point would not be to ask follow-up questions about what I DID say but to flip over a piece of paper and slowly draw two circles at opposing corners while making an analogy. "This circle is you ... and this one is me ... the sun and the moon." - I couldn't believe what was happening. He continued by drawing a thick line in between: "And this is how far apart in price you and I are..." Patronizing, unnecessary, not helpful--and I told him as much. I also said, "Look, I can't ask anymore. I don't want to pay your listed price ($11,895). Are you willing to come down off of that for a full-cash offer, and what is that?" His response was to repeat his earlier mantra: "How close can you get to [sticker]?" The back-and-forth was too much. "If you can't answer my question, we've got to go." - and we did. This dealership seems to be a quintessential dealership. Expect nothing different. read more

Originally left OC Carz a satisfied customer. It was always a dream to own my own car and not a handy down or some clunker I through away for about $500. The stay was friendly, seemed to know what they were doing. One downfall was that not even two weeks after purchasing the car the dash lights would go on and off and I wasn't able to see my speedometer, gas monitor, anything lite up on the dash board so at most times I have no idea what speed limit I was going. Things were going great until I was forced to check myself into an impatient medical facility for a little over a month unexpectedly. While there, I had no access to my phone, laptop, or any of my financials. Due to this, I was late on a car payment. Upon discharge, I called OZ Carz who told me to get in contact with the loan agency they use Bayside Credit based out of Newport Beach. Even though I was in the hospital for a month unable to work (broke college kid which no financial help from my family who lives across county.) They showed no sympathy and said there was nothing left to do but have my car reposed EVEN THOUGH I had last months payment and this month as well as my payment due for my car insurance company. Made absolutely sense. They were going to get every single penny back. Would never recommend doing business with this company!! read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I talked with reza(the manager) and everything went great. He ran my credit and got me approved and told me all I needed was proof of income proof of insurance proof of address and down payment . I told him I would have the down payment in a couple days and he assured me the car would still be available. I then asked again to make sure because I didn't want to buy insurance in case the car was sold to someone else. He again assured me the car would still be there. 2 days later I call before going on and he says he tried to call me the day before( which he did not, no missed calls, no texts) to inform me the car was sold. I told him I had already bought the insurance and that I had asked about this happening and he assured me the car would be there. And only now he tells me that he can't legally hold any car. I told him I'm just a customer how am I supposed to know that I don't know the law and you assured me the car would still be available to which he replies "is it my job to teach you the law" and he began to get aggressive and it was all over from there. I refuse to do business with him. No I don't expect to be taught the law but I do expect someone who is selling a product to inform the consumer about laws that apply to them. It seems that he learns the law not to help a customer but to swindle them. If you want an honest upfront salesman do not go here.
