We used OCD Moving Services for a cross-country move and couldn't be happier. I was dreading trying to find a nationwide moving service. It's usually the luck of the draw whether you get someone good or someone who grumbles and throws your stuff around. After a lot of research, I found this company which primarily does local moves in the Bay Area, but they can also do longer moves. Throughout the entire process, Daniel (the owner) was responsive, polite, and expert. Daniel set expectations well beforehand, showed up on time for an estimate, and helped us decide what should stay or go. On the day of the move, Daniel, Dallas, and Pasquale showed up on time and made quick work of the boxes we'd packed, then carefully wrapped and loaded our furniture. Moving is always stressful, but Daniel and his whole crew clearly enjoy their work and each other, and that made things much easier. Daniel kept us posted with updates on the progress of the truck as it made its way across the country. OCD didn't offload the move to anyone else, so it was the same crew (Daniel and Pasquale) for unloading too. They showed up on time and got everything in the right spots as they unloaded. They even stopped after unloading the furniture to ask whether anything needed to be shuffled around before they started on the boxes. It's rare to find an excellent moving company, but OCD fits the bill. If I had to move again, I'd talk to Daniel and OCD first. read more

I emailed and spoke to Daniel two days before I wanted to move and luckily his team was available to help me move out of my useless storage unit. Everyone else I contacted either didn't respond back or didn't have openings and I'm glad they didn't because OCD moving services did an OUTSTANDING AMAZING job!! The two man team that came on time and ready were Anthony and Joel. I got along with them right away. They have a great system for moving. I wanted to move some of my stuff to recycling, the other to trash, and some in my car to take home with me. They helped put my stuff into 3 piles- recycling, trash, and car. This made the move so much easier and faster. Daniel showed up close to when we were getting ready to leave to introduce himself and see how things were going. He was very nice and professional. The move out process took about 1 hour since I didn't need anything wrapped or moved carefully, then we headed to Berkeley Recycling center and Trash. They helped place the recycling things into different bins at the recycling center. Total I had them for 3 hours since the min to book is 3 hours- which was perfect since the line to get in to dump trash was long. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this moving company and I will be using them again for any future moves. When I moved locally, I was very anxious because I'd lived in my previous apartment a long time and had never needed to use movers before. I checked a LOT of Yelp reviews before selecting OCD, who rightfully have a VERY high rating. The owner was very responsive to my questions both by phone and text, and very clear from the beginning about what the costs would be. Based on the size of my move, they recommended one truck with three movers and estimated my move would take between 3-6 hours. On the day of my move, they arrived on the early side and with an extra mover who was in training, so I was not charged for an extra person. They had me orient them to the things that were and were not going to be moved so that they could move items in the most logical fashion. They were so fast getting things out of my apartment that I could barely keep up with them. They also helped carry a few things down to the curb that were being picked up by others, and loaded a bunch of things to be taken to the dump following my move. When they arrived at my new home (roughly 15 minutes after I did), they had me show them the space before they started bringing things inside. They brought everything in very quickly and put 98% of my things in the correct room (the other 2% were easy to relocate). They successfully got some problematic furniture up my C-shaped staircase and made sure heavy things like my couch, dining table, bed and dresser were placed where I wanted them. In total, I think moving my 2 bedroom apartment to my 2 bedroom house took about 3.5 hours, and the total price was roughly what I'd estimated based on the original quoted rates. I was VERY pleased with the service, and with the friendliness of the employees who came to move my belongings. read more

They arrived within the window given and called when they were about an hour out so that I had a heads up. I was very impressed with how accommodating, friendly and efficient the guys were. I've moved a lot in my life: I've moved coast-to-coast, intrastate, interstate; with professional movers and DIY; with a company relocation service and on my own. This time, we moved with 2 preschoolers from the bay area (CA) to the Denver area (CO). We've moved with kids before, and we've moved long-distance before, but we've never moved long-distance with kids and it was very stressful for me. Finding the right moving company was key, and OCD Moving was excellent. My husband scoured Yelp for moving companies with consistently excellent reviews, and OCD Moving was at the top. We received in-person estimates and quotes from several companies. We had assumed we'd need to use a consolidator to keep our move within budget, but OCD Moving was able to give us the best of both worlds: a competitive price AND our belongings within just a few days. Josh and his crew were excellent. We had Pasquale, Scott, Brandon, and Junior along with Josh, and these guys were awesome. Moving is stressful for me, but OCD Moving did all the right things: they called the day before to confirm the appointment and then showed up on time with smiles on their faces. They packed everything (we've unpacked 80% of our belongings and so far, no issues) quickly and efficiently. They were professional, kind, and friendly. Josh was even able to figure out a way to bring two small planters my kids made me for Mother's Day (with live plants in them). Josh kept my husband posted daily on the progress, and they showed up exactly when they committed (they packed/loaded on Monday in California and arrived at our new home in Colorado on Thursday morning). The unloading was just as pleasant as the loading. These guys are great at what they do and it shows. They are committed to customer service, and worked hard to help us save money (i.e., pointing out things that we should consider leaving behind because it would cost more to move than to re-buy). A glass table top was chipped from a prior move, so they did some extra protection on it and told us how we could reinforce it to help it when we arrived at our new place. They even moved an awkward set of stairs at our new place into the basement for us. How good are they? Our kids' Ikea dressers arrived unscathed despite the long-distance move. We were so impressed with OCD Moving that we'll definitely use them the next time we move (though we hope it won't be for a very long time) and recommend them to everyone we know. read more

OK, so first off, we called numerous moving companies that were much more expensive & would not move our furniture until they had a full load (multiple households, large truck). We called OCD & someone got back to us immediately with all the info we needed to move forward. We were advised a truck size & given a great quote & move date. The two guys who showed up were absolutely amazing. John & John are clearly the most professional & competent movers in the world!! They packed & loaded us in less than 2 hours. This included a huge armoire & antique secretary with special glass in it. They arrived to our vacay home, which is a 3 hour trip, in a timely manner. In 105 degree weather, they didn't flinch as they unloaded & placed our items in the house, exactly where we wanted it. Not so much as a tiny scratch on anything. They were professional yet personable & way beyond competent. My hubby & I have a huge respect for these guys & this company. For our final move to our place we will be calling them. This review is very long over due. Our move took place the week of Halloween 2014. Thanks to Daniel and his crew, our move from CA to out of state was stress-free!! From the first phone call to the minute they left after the drop, we couldn't be more pleased. This was our first move out of state and Daniel consistently put our minds at ease. Him and his crew are very professional, knowledgeable, wonderful demeanor, and excellent work ethic!!!!! I have not stop praising their services or professionalism since the day they left. About the move: 2 storage units and an apartment - last minute decision to move out of state, no time to downsize anything!! They kept in contact with us since the minute they picked up the truck and headed to the Bay Area during Monday traffic. From that point on, they took care of everything. They can fully prepared with blankets, shrink wrap, hand trucks, tape, extra boxes, and more. They shrunk wrapped our items, re-taped boxes (that were poorly done by us), loaded the truck, verified what was going with and staying, recommended we take a final look just in case (AND did this with us!!!), and went on their way. During the trip, they kept in constant communication. When they delivered, they took the exact same amount of care they took when they loaded. These guys handled our things as if it were their own. Even special care for all my memorabilia items that Daniel clearly understood were important to me. We can't say enough about OCD.
