The overall process was really convenient, especially because of their flexible time window. Moving: the two movers, Herman and Aleksei, were incredibly efficient and very sweet/patient throughout the move. I appreciate that they handled both my expensive & economical items delicately. Nothing crazy... it happens Took one start because I would appreciate to understand the tip expectations a head .. instead we were asked by the movers to tip.. since we didnt know we gave them something and then they call us cheap lol...so then we gave them 100 per mover.. which was like 20% Nothing against tipping and yes they were good and it was deserved, but it was awkward.. nice gesture if the company would have shared expectation ahead or include it in the quote. I would definitely recommend this place to folks, but recommend to the company to share tip expectations as people dont move often and are not familiar of what is customary.. thats all.

We had heard plenty of horror stories from friends and family about moving companies, so we were a little nervous going into the process but Jay's Small Moves completely exceeded our expectations. Roberto and his team arrived right on time and had our condo loaded incredibly quickly. Even though we didn't have any boxes containing fragile items, they treated every piece of furniture with great care, carefully wrapping everything in moving blankets and plastic wrap before loading it. It was clear they took pride in protecting our belongings. They arrived at our new apartment on schedule and placed every piece of furniture exactly where we wanted it without any issues. From start to finish, including the drive across the Bay, the entire move took about four hours--roughly two hours faster than we expected. The entire experience was efficient, professional, and stress-free. We would absolutely use Jay's Small Moves again for our next move, and we've already recommended them to several friends.

We're not fully unpacked, but we've only found one small item that broke, but it was nothing valuable. I agree with other reviews stating that the movers were slow--The total time after removing breaks (10.75 hours) was 30% more than the upper end of the original quote (6-8 hours). I appreciate that they were careful with our belongings and were genuinely working hard, but a little bit more realism with the quote would have been helpful. So why am I rating this three stars? The team took a nearly two hour long lunch break. I'm not against breaks for workers, but this was absurdly long. It pushed our move much later into the night. We weren't charged for this time, but I would have appreciated better communication about how the team takes breaks. I had to call the office to figure out was going on! The office told me that the crew would reach out to me directly with when they would be back. (They did not). I think it would also be useful for the office to let potential customers know how much time to factor in for breaks and that they won't be charged for them.
