Rachel reached out to me very quick and her responses were super quick, even after hours! I was very appreciative of the quick response. The rate was also good based on other replies I received. What astounded me the most was the workers. They were SUPER fast packing, bringing the stuff to the truck, and unpacking. They didn't speak English and used a translator on the phone, but they were actually pretty good with reading the words in the box, such as master, living room, garage, etc. They had runners or whatever they're called on the stairs so they wouldn't damage the stairs. They're careful with walls and I didn't see any damage on the wall, too. I'm so so so impressed with them, how quick the movers were, and how respectful they were. The company is very responsive, efficient and professional. The movers showed up early and were patient when we got to my new place and I didn't have the keys. My only complaints: (1) they slightly damaged a few pieces of my furniture, and maybe a door jam; (2) they used the cheap packing tape with the crappy glue that more readily sticks to your belongings and isn't always easy to get out/off instead of the good stuff that more readily peels off; and (3) when I lost my keys and was looking for them, I discovered the garment boxes weren't really garment boxes: they were missing the bars, so all of my hanging clothes were just dumped in taller boxes labeled garment boxes that actually weren't because they were missing the bar. (Rachel is confusing me with another customer in her response, as my items were not stored before moving, either inside or outside.) read more

They did a great job - moved everything quickly and efficiently. Recommended them to friends already and they also said they did a great job. We had a couch which we had assembled inside our place and so it was pretty big compared to door but they somehow managed to move it without disassembling it and even carried it up the stairs at our new place since it didn't fit in elevator. On top of the great service, the pricing was transparent and they charged exactly what they said they would which I have never experienced before with movers. There's always some mysterious random charges and such that the total always ends up being more than what rate * hours is. Not so with SF City Moving - just as they had quoted there was only the $39 truck charge and then the time spent from when they arrived to when we finished - which they started and ended the timer right on the dot. For three movers was $149 which was also less than other places quotes. Highly recommend and will definitely use them again in future (although hopefully no time soon lol) read more

Wow! I must say that I'm impressed. Not only did the company accompany my last minute request, by offering 8am the next morning, the movers were on time, and ready to work. It was obvious that these 2 were experienced because as soon as they entered my residence, they started grabbing empty boxes and asking me what else needed packing. I told them, "that pile is junk, we're only moving this side of the room." Haha. Their energy was so infections that seeing them work so efficiently motivated me to start packing personal items that I was going to take later in my vehicle. And obviously, the load out was faster than the load in. I'm literally sitting here in my new residence like, wow, I guess that's it. Lol. In and out like true professionals. Efficient, reasonable cost. Wish they spoke English well and followed my labels on each items, I labeled where stuff was supposed to go but unfortunately it was not followed. They put a hole in our boxing equipment that made the water pour out. They dropped my mattress box on the street, that kinda did not go well with me. Highly recommend SF City Moving! I found them via Yelp. I needed an insured moving company as required by my HOA per moving policy. Rachel was quick responding on the yelp app and on the phone to help me schedule our move date. She provided the COI that I needed to submit to the HOA right away. On our move day, the 3 movers were hired arrived right on time. They were respectful and courteous. Most of all, they were quick! They disassembled and reassembled furniture for us and also moved further within the first residence. I expected them to be done loading the truck in 3 hours but they finished 40 min ahead of schedule. They wore shoe covers and had a rubber mat to protect our stairs. They didn't scratch a wall! Very professional, wrapped all furniture in blankets and plastic wrap. We were impressed how they knew how to leverage the weight of heavy packages and furniture, navigating through tight spaces. If you know Mandarin, it's a plus. The guys are limited in spoken English, but I'm sure it would be ok as long as you point out what needs to be moved. When we got to the new residence, the movers finished in exactly 2 hours. It was fast! For having to walk far from the truck to the second floor and reassemble two beds, I thought it would take much longer. For the price, it's well worth it and also great value. I was quoted much higher rates from other companies. Customer service with SF City Moving was A+. I would use them again if I had to move! Give the guys a nice tip because they deserve it! read more

We hired 3 movers to help from moving from Pleasanton to concord. They were running about 10 minutes behind but as soon as they got to our house they were professional and very quick to moving our things. Total time took about 6 hours. They took down our mounted tv, reassembled our bedroom furniture, put protective wrapping and blankets on all our furniture. If I could give more than 5 stars here, I would. These guys were so hard working, so diligent and careful with our stuff, and super professional. They moved all our stuff from our three bedroom house, which ended up taking two trips over the bay bridge, and worked non-stop the whole day. They even moved a huge cabinet that was left in our new house down to the garage. We could never have done this job without them. Movers were very thorough. Lead guy was very effective. The two others seemed less experienced and essentially did mostly loading and unloading. The move took a lot longer then estimated partly because they had to do some packing for us and partly because only the lead man was wrapping and unwrapping furniture.
