Great fish but for the love of the game bring back it being open to all customers not just restaurants

They no longer do retail sales. What a bummer. This was the best source in Vegas for fresh seafood.

This is not a restaurant! (In case you mistaken it for one from the cover photo of a sushi roll). This is an order-ahead of time sushi market. I found them a few years ago on Instagram. They use to be more social media friendly; posting new specials and reposting tags. Since the pandemic they have gone quiet however they still answer their messages and that's how I always order with them. They have a Google spreadsheet of what they have available although they do have dry goods but it's not listed in that spreadsheet for some reason. They use to have package specials but as of this point they aren't doing those. They also use to have same day pick up but not anymore. So you can message them on IG or call/text them with your order a day before (I believe you have to do it by noon) then you can pick up the next day from 11am-2pm. You pay at pick up and it's usually ready in a brown box by the counter inside the warehouse/fridge. They won't be able to give you that total until the morning of pick up because that's when they package and weigh all your items. They give you plenty of ice and those reusable ice bags. Their prices have gone up since the pandemic and inflation but still cheaper than going out to a restaurant. Oh minimum order is $100. We order when we have family get togethers or when we need to stock up on imitation crab meat, broiled eel, or shrimp tempura. So for Mother's Day we got the salmon belly, otoro (Omgosh it was so fatty!), uni and fresh wasabi. My sister made a uni pasta and my mom and auntie just devoured it! Then they had another tray just to themselves of uni, they were in uni heaven! (If you read my last Yama Sushi review then you'll understand - they were quite disappointed with Yama sushi not having uni the last couple of times they were there so I decided to make their unit dreams come true haha). Great quality of fish. I wished they had the Japanese Mayo in stock and the otoro in a smaller size, they were offering half pound blocks a while ago but I guess they decided to do away with it. So I ended up with a 1.4 lb of otoro and it was just way too much. I was also a bit disappointed that they didn't skin it and there were still a bunch of bones in it. After my order last week they started to post some specials on IG so hopefully they'll get back to some of their other package deals. Keep an eye out for them if you are wanting to host your own sushi party. read more

Word of mouth brought us here, and I am happy to say we will be back for more! During Covid aren't we all trying to make our favorite foods from home? Buy your fish and sushi goodies from the same place the restaurants do! $25 minimum order and if you order before noon you can pick up same day. Pickup between 11-2pm only. Today we ordered a 2.2lb bag of wasabi powder, 1lb salmon steak, jar of pickled ginger, package of kizami wasabi and some seaweed salad. The service was pleasant and quick to pay, our box was waiting on the shelf for us. The box was packed with ice to keep the goods cold. After researching online on how to make nigiri stocks home, the salmon nigiri turned out well and was as smooth as butter! Made about 12 orders and with the kizami wasabi had a nice kick. Can't wait to come back and try the tuna and yellowtail. read more

CURRENT COVID-19 CONDITIONS: Social distancing Double mask wearing 3 different COVID strains Since Americans refused to listen to guidelines since Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve, and now Super Bowl Sunday tomorrow, it's going to take our country that much longer to see the other side of this pandemic. Discovered Ocean Fresh through a friend's recommendation on Instagram! During COVID, my favorite sushi spot was unfortunately closed and Ocean Fresh was the savior in our household to get our fix. Now we're catching ourselves ordering regularly for family parties or even just to keep some things on hand in our freezer. They carry everything from sashimi grade fish to shrimp tempura. They also have seasonal fresh fish that is advertised on their instagram. The quality of their uni is also fantastic. Pricing is very reasonable and pick-up is easy and convenient. The team is super responsive and always very kind and helpful. I definitely recommend Ocean Fresh for anyone who is looking to have some fresh sashimi at home, DIY sushi night, or even if you just want to keep some things on hand in your freezer like us! read more

I'm a rookie ordering from Ocean Fresh. I've been missing out big time! I've been planning on making uni cream pasta for a while now but where can I get fresh uni from a store? I found them through Instagram so, I quickly send them a message. They were super responsive, helpful, and patient. Placing an order for pick up was so easy. I got live lobster, fresh Sta. Barbara uni, sushi-grade sushi, and tempura. Their pick-up hours at their warehouse are M-F 11am-2pm. You'll find your box with your name on it and items you pre-ordered written on the box. Pay your invoice either with cash or card. The quality and freshness of their seafood is beyond amazing. I opened my box with my lobster in it. I thought it was frozen until I picked it up and almost dropped it on the floor when it started to move. The color and freshness of the salmon and uni were superb. I'll definitely order here again the next time I want to make my uni pasta, lobster cream pasta, sushi and sashimi. read more

Had placed an order thru Ocean Fresh Group's LV instagram (@oceanfreshgrouplv) day prior to pick up for 2 unagi's and 1 pound of salmon. Very responsive on IG and texting too. Was instructed to pick up between 10A - 2P at their warehouse on Post and Decatur. (coincidentally, it is located right next to the company i got my car's tint installed) LOL Entrance is to the side which pretty much goes into a warehouse that is cooled with a little area with their products offered and a price list on the wall. Right behind that is the "counter" where you pay and pick up your order. Process of pick up was super easy and fairly minimal contact and i was on my way home. The receipt has a note attached showing the HACCP certification stating how the fish is prepared and regulated, making it safe for raw consumption (salmon, etc). Every order is put in a box with your name on it with a bag of ice on top of your items to keep them nice and cool, despite it sitting in their cold warehouse. Salmon ($9/lb) was skin on and was SUPER fatty. I removed the skin and saved it for another day to fry up. Salmon was served sashimi style and was delicious ! Unagi ($12.99/lb but its 0.9 lb per pack.. but get charged $12.99? i dont get it). Anyway, unagi is packed in a sealed bag with instructions for "boiling", "microwaving", or "baking". Definitely didn't want to take the microwave route so ended up baking it in a non-stick pan to instructions (from frozen!) Made a unagi bowl and ate half one day, and heated up in an oven the other half next day. Heats up well. Don't know how long it lasts after you unfreeze and have heated it before though. Definitely hits the spot and gets you satisfied on the amount HAHA Dang good of a deal considering how much some places are charging for delivery (or just the items in general if you eat in) and what not during this period of time. If i lived a bit closer, i'd almost want to get some salmon sashimi for lunch a few times a week ! Can't beat the price! read more

My little sister introduced me to this place. Due to the pandemic not that many sushi spots are ordering fish. Luckily this warehouse opened to the public and you are able to make some sushi from home. All you had to do was get on social media and write them. The ordering process was easy and they were so kind. I ordered a set box for $30 and added ebi shrimp. On my way there I packed a cooler and ice packs just in case for the ride home and they outdid themselves! The box they gave had ice in it to keep the fish fresh. That's how you know they focus on quality. I was happy shoot that! The fish was delicious. I'm not a big tuna girl. My boyfriend loves it. He said it didn't taste as fresh though. It kind of had a fishy taste. But the salmon was amazing it was so delicious. I love me some salmon! Overall I'm grateful for this place and the experience to make sushi at home! I am ABSOLUTELY in love with this place. Forget all the places you thought you wanted to go to for sushi in Vegas. If you aren't a local and you've got a kitchen, you gotta get to Ocean Fresh. They are a wholesale fish spot usually taking care of the restaurants in the city. Since the pandemic started, they opened up to the public and I really do hope they continue. My method of placing an order was through IG. They usually throw up specials in their IG story. Last week, they had clams which were super fresh and just gosh darn amazing. They're open M-Sat and you're able to pick up from 11am-2pm. I am such a fan of everything I've tried so far. We've gotten everything from tuna to salmon to uni and so on. The prices are super reasonable. We were able to feed 4 people with so many leftovers for under $80. An omakase dinner can sometimes be $300+. And who knows...those restaurants are probably getting their fish from here! This is a must stop whenever I'm in Vegas. Highly recommend it. read more

Ocean Fresh has been a lifesaver during quarantine! During the shutdown we had major sushi cravings and now we're able to make it at home with fresh, sushi-grade fish from Ocean Fresh. We are not sushi chefs by any means, but it is definitely a fun activity and a creative outlet especially when you are staying home. I follow their instagram because they will post when they have new items or specials. For example, they'll have santa barbara uni pretty often and they had boxed specials for Mother's Day. The business will also sporadically post the items for sale with prices on their stories. I typically get box #2 which has salmon, tuna, and yellowtail with a pack of fresh wasabi and will sometimes add other items like unagi (eel) or shrimp tempura. You get A LOT of fish for a great deal, especially considering the quality. We get so many meals out of it. I've tried the uni, which is even better than ordering it at a sushi restaurant. You basically get a whole pack for the price of (probably even cheaper than) ordering uni nigiri in a restaurant. It's super simple to order. Place an order on instagram for pick up the following day. You pick it up, pay, and everything is packaged with ice. I've ordered multiple times through quarantine and have always had a great experience. read more

Pros: Extremely high quality (sushi quality) fish and seafood. Fish is always very fresh. Good prices. Wonderful staff. Cons: The only thing I can think of is they don't have an easy online ordering system built into their website Details: This place absolutely has sushi-grade fish and seafood. We enjoy sushi but due to COVID, we really were not having any. My wife found this place on Yelp and I taught myself to make some basic sushi. We have gone several times now and it is always a great experience. We normally buy a couple pounds of typical sushi fish (tuna, salmon, etc.) and the prices are very reasonable. We end up making anough for the extended family to join and usually have extra. They have both fresh and frozen fish and many other seafood items like crab, shrimp, squid, octopus, etc. I highly recommend this place for your sushi-grade seafood needs. read more

I first found this place through Phiilip T, the major of Las Vegas...I always trust his honest opinion and decided to order fishes from Ocean Group Las Vegas during the World wide lockdown. I am not sure if I could have survived without OG's Sashimi grade fish during pandemic. For that, thank you. I usually check out OG's Instagram a couple of days before I place my order, since they often post special items for the limited time and/or package sales. After I decide what to order, I direct message them via IG. They are prompt to confirm with pick up time. You park, go to the office, and find the box with your name and items on, pay, go home and slice fresh fishes how ever you like. It brings immense enjoyment to dine with amazing chefs at restaurants, but Ocean Group Las Vegas makes home-cooking as enjoyable with the quality fish they offer. read more

As a person who loves sushi, it's impossible to find fresh fish at your local markets. Ocean Group is a legit fish market that can satisfy all of your needs. They distribute to restaurants so there are some rules of engagement. First, you must get a price sheet and order in advance. Second, you must meet a minimum order quantity of $100. Third, pickups are between 12-2pm. They accept all forms of payment. You enter the building on side in a refrigerated room that acts as a pickup area. Fish will be packed on trays and plastic but I find I typically wrap it in single serving portions. I do recommend you bring a cooler. They will provide ice. I have had the Hawaii tuna, salmon fillets and salmon belly. It's all good. Selection will depend on what's in stock and fisherman are catching. So far I haven't had too many issues. Sushi grade fish in Vegas! I found this place on instagram. I have no idea how. They might've been promoting it? I don't know but I'm so happy. This is the only place in Vegas where you can buy sushi grade fish that is so fresh and great quality where you can make your own sushi at home. I sent them a message on instagram and requested a box that they had filled with salmon, tuna and yellowtail along with some tobiko and masago that i ordered. About 5 minutes later I got a response that I could come pick up my fish between 10am-2pm. Since it was almost 10am, I got in the car, drove to the location and picked up my fish. The next day we had company over and decided to have our very own sushi night! It was so much fun! This is going to be a staple for us. This place is awesome. I am going to continue to look on instagram for any specials and spread the word here in Vegas! read more

Thank you to the fellow Yelpers to clarify details on how to order for pickup! Their website's menu of freshest inventory isn't up to date, such as their list of recent shipments, but their Instagram stories are poppin'. They'll post recent shipments coming in like uni from Santa Barbara, or sushi boxes available for the home chefs like my hubby. I called for their business line for more details 'cause I wanted to know what pricing was. The rep I talked to was totally patient, texted me from a business phone with all the details like pricing for popular items, and the variety of those popular items (e.g, cubed tuna and ground tuna). Also received new info during the call, such as orders placed before 11am can be picked up the same day, but anything after that is available the following business day. I responded to the same text chain with my order and customer info the following day (around 7am), and received a confirmation within 5 minutes. He also gave me a more specific time frame for pickup that was around 12pm - 2pm. When I arrived, front door sign redirected me to the warehouse door. A small window was there with one rep that handles business calls and pickup, so please be patient. As soon as she got my name for the order, she collected a signature and payment, then asked me to look for my box on one of the warehouse tables. One of the smoothest transactions I've ever done. The quality of the seafood we ordered (tuna, salmon, uni) was great! LOL. Even the frozen seaweed salad made us feel like we were back in sushi restaurants. There were minimum quantities to order for the seafood, and they were large for 2 people, so... If you're going to order items, make sure you account for how many people you're feeding at home. I can't express enough how much I love this place! The fish is top notch! Every time I crave for sushi/sashimi this is the place to go!! I normally order box #2 (comes with Yellowtail, tuna, and salmon) and I also ordered other on the sides such as salmon and Tuna poke, seaweed salads, etc.. I love their Uni!! Please come get your fresh and high quality seafood here at Ocean Fresh! I've ordered here a couple of times and the service and quality of the things I've gotten are great! I communicate through Instagram, but you can call them and order with same day pick up if you place it maybe 3-4 hours before pick up time which is between 12-2pm. They close at 2pm. The price is affordable and you get what you pay for. I like ordering the mackerel, eel, tuna and salmon cubes, the half shell frozen oysters (144 count) for about $68, and their fish eggs and seaweed salad. The fish eggs and seaweed salad are frozen, but it thaws out really quickly and taste fresh and delicious better and CHEAPER than the ones you get at Asian supermarkets. This is the only place in Las Vegas where you can buy high quality sashimi grade fish. The prices can't be beat. So far I've ordered Hawaiian tuna, hamachi, salmon, and squid. Everything was stellar. We order from here weekly! That kind of says it all, love how fresh the fish (sashimi grade) is and the prices are amazing! Salmon fillets are our go to, we slice it up for seared salmon or poke bowls. Pretty much everything is solid quality. Ease of ordering through text and instagram DM make things super easy. Another favorite is the unagi, such an easy item to air fry in 10 minutes and have unagi ready. The pick up area is just a warehouse door, but they have everything packaged and ready to go with plenty of ice to keep things cool. Eating at home is not such a bad thing now that we can buy fish from Ocean Fresh! Pickup is from 11am-2pm on M-Saturday. Orders have to be in by noon for same day pickup. Minimum $25 orders. They also have specials posted on their instagram stories, so make sure to follow them. I've tried the tuna, yellowtail, salmon , salmon cubes, salmon fillet, unagi, ikura, tobiko, sea bass cheeks (similar texture to scallops), shrimp tempura, chutoro, uni, seaweed salad, takoyaki, squid legs prebattered. The only thing that I would probably not order again is the chutoro. The quality and price didn't really match up for me there...it wasn't quite as fatty as I would have expected given the price. read more

This place is awesome! The fish is phenomenal. Yellowtail, tuna, and salmon are a good choice. The ikura is very high quality. The Uni is awesome. Also their highest end Hokkaido scallops are incredible sweet and flavorful. They're great at keeping to instructions and always provide nice cuts. read more

What a terrific find! Based on dates of reviews, it seems they only started offering to the public during the pandemic. I hope they continue this little side operation once things are back to normal. Looked on Instagram but not being a regular user it was just easier to call. Ordered Box#2 and had them email a price list. Box#2 is 1# salmon, 1.5# tuna, 1.8# yellowtail and packet of fresh wasabi. All for $50! We will get three meals for two out of it. As another reviewer said, entry is into the warehouse where there is window to pay for order and a table with everyone's order boxes stacked and waiting for pickup. Didn't even take 5 minutes in and out. Dinner was delicious! Everything fresh, tasty and firm. I was so disappointed with my first order from here.. I ordered 5 days in advance in hopes to make sure my order will be complete upon pick up. When I arrived, my name was written on a box prepared with all the extras I added to the box special I ordered, but the box special was not included in the package. I've heard so many good things about this company, but just my luck.. my ordered was not prepared correctly.. maybe next time :( read more
